Why people waste money in buying FIFA?Year after year they produce the same horrible gameplay,and whats more the game graphics rendering engine is one of the worst that I have ever seen.Yes,PES doesn't have full licenses but what about FIFA?They inspite of having licences,have wasted them.The fifa licensed kits are too bad to comment anything.Let it be adidas,Nike,puma,or anything,not a single kit has proper collar.And is that the way players sprint?Sprinting in FIFA looks like ants running.And there's a million of bugs in the game.Right from FIFA 2005 I am seeing when the ball comes near the screen(Tele or Sideline camera) the ball vanishes.The keeper comes out through the nets!Suddenly the referee starts moving around a circle fanatically for no reason.And have you seen what Drogba does with his face in FIFA 07??And the latest bug,ball goes through Robinson's leg bone only to concede a goal.My oh my God,please make me a fool or else stop EA producing FIFA!
Yes,for you guys,who like great Menu,huge glamour,big ambience,do play FIFA,but those who love football,then FIFA is not recommended!!
In FIFA you have sweet spots,special zones from where you can score goals everytime.In WC2006,I found once I cross all defenders and its a One to One case,I go at one side of the net and shoot at the other end,and its a GOAL always.And there are other tricks that would reward a goal using the same tactic again and again.FIFA gameplay is one of the worst and mostly the moves are expected.I intercept their passes in most cases because keeping an eye on the player's position,what is to be done can easily be predicted.Add to it the fact that is that the way a player dribbles?Which player in the world makes dribbling so fast?Dribbling in FIFA looks like a game for the kids.

And for PES,I agree,it doesn't have full licences(that too because of some other brand who has taken full endorsements only to produce foolish,kiddish football game),but those which have licences aren't pathetic like FIFA.It has correct collar,great grahics engine,and a superb gameplay.Once you are in the game,you will feel you are watching a real football match.The players look like real ones and so are everything.The game is not something where you can predict things.Freekick at the same position with the same player and same shooting power applied may not give you a goal second time.ANd thats the beauty,nothing can be predicted.There are no sweet spots from where you can score goal freely.PES is all about football gameplay,its all about constructing the game from the defence to earn a goal,and NOT mere banging of balls at the nets.If you are patient enough you can change to formation and role of each player to the last screw.Which players are to marked,to what extent,which should be the line of attack,what should be attacking strategy,how the individual players would run in the specified directional formation,how the keeper should tackle players,how aggresive the players should be,and the list continues.That's called making to the last screw.If licenses are of major concern,then there are ways to get full licences,its only a matter of patching.And once patched,FIFA in no terms comes close to PES.

I had been playing FIFA since FIFA 98,but except World Cup Korea Japan 2002 no FIFA made me happy.Then I came across PES,and from then on I am Playing PES,with all patches inserted,I get peace of mind;at least I play a football game,not a game for kids.
And thats the only one reason all major gaming tournaments that features football now uses PES and NOT FIFA.

AF means Anisotropic Filtering, which enhances the image quality of textures of surfaces that are distant, which makes the scene renders more realistic (at the slight expense of performance). I've got PES6 with AA and AF at maximum and it looks better than normal albeit you can still see some jagged edges on the player models when close up. But it still looks far better than FIFA on the PC, which isn't helped by the horrible "plasticine-like" player models and terrible font rendering on kits reminiscent of dodgy 3DFX rendering of the late 90's!! :D

I am still amazed that FIFA 2003 on the PC was the best looking, graphics-wise, of the FIFA's on the PC platform. Really don't know what EA's graphics designers did from 2004 onwards, it still doesn't look right in FIFA 07, and unless they start changing things dramatically for FIFA 08 (and making it more aligned to the 360 version) then PES will still look the better (and in some respects play the better) game I'm afraid.

Yea I got it the meaning of AF and AA right after posting the query from the Graphics Card menu.
However when turned on I find PES to be blacked out with miserable slow performance on the pc.
Anyway I personally feel the best FIFA game was World Cup Korea Japan 2002 if I consider the the graphics rendering system,the kits,the AI.
But with 2003 onwards they started to follow KONAMI's technique of creating a face model and superimposing a real photo.That was not the case with WC 2002.The entire model was created by some 3D studio,no superimposition of images over the player model.
In the process the faces of the FIFA consists of the face the hair and the neck.
The neck can move in sideways and up down movements are made at the joint of the shoulder and the face. Thats the reason the player look down in doggy style.
FIFA are not keen to change so many player face model,so you can take it from me that for some more years they would keep their "doggy style look down" mode.
And the biggest of all FIFA is said to be licensed but is this how license kits looks like?Adidas has round collar,brazil has round collar,the adidas 2006 fonts are not present in FIFA 2007,Netherlands black fonts are not there.Its horrible in one word.God knows why they say FIFA are licensed.
And the pathetic part is the gameplay.
When I play in World Class mode I always feel that I am made to play bad and the computer is set to play well.
Ronaldinho cannot overtake a player from Pakistan during sprint in WC 2006 is not at all justified.
Just a few days back I sent a pass to the keeper and the keeper went inside the goal post to get the ball,only to concede a same side goal.
A defender of the opponent team kicks the ball towards its goal line and the ball shoots over the center line.
I have already posted how the ball goes through the body of Robinson and these errors are not justified.
I try for through pass and in world class mode I have seen again and again that the ball does not go in the direction I intend for but to some other direction and opponent player intercepts to get the ball.
This is not done.
IN world class mode If I play well then I must be given fair chance as it happens in PES,but in FIFA the game is set in such a way that you will be made to play badly.
Its pathetic for any game.

Mate, what you fail to understand is that many pes fans are also disapointed with pes. few innovations and lack of ambition (audio, grfx, overall presentation). Fifa vs. pes argument aside, just take an objective view of pes alone and really think about the progression on to the next gen konami have attempted. you may not care whether it evolves or not but many people do (pes diehards as well). I dont think people are arguing gameplay here. While the gp is fun and silky smooth, its not sim (fact) and many pes fans want pes to return to sim. PES has always been superb and does many things right. But I think overall, people want to see it evolve and truly embrace next gen hardware. /Thats where I stand. You can preach about gameplay all you want but its old news. WE9 had superb gameplay, Im already used to pes' good gameplay (whether arcady or sim) now I want more. Remember International Super Star Soccer for the SNES? just see all the other soccer games from other companies by the time. There was no competition. Konami got them from the ass.

Then what does that make PES? It looks like a PS1 title:-puke:and plays too arcady. awful presentation (looks like a high school design project), audio is horrid and online play....well, utter trash, unplayable. i am enjoying every moment when i play FIFA08. Is closed than ever to the real thing.

It is too much predictable, you always know what will happen. Which makes the game worse [imo] Your 'ability' to predict what will the CPU do, is compensated with CPU cheats. Lame goals, God-like CPU goalies and a lot more.

The thing i like in PES is the absolutely fantastic gameplay, some unique moves, shooting and dunno what more. I hope the gameplay haven't got worse cos' i'm just getting my PES 2008 :)
And especially...the cpu doesn't cheat like the way fifa's cpu does.

Exactly my thoughts about FIFA...07 was pretty nice but it had some MAJOR bugs...08 is just stupid...it's simply FIFA 07 v2.0

I personally enjoy PES because it's gameplay brings something fresh and fun to the table...I still play PES6 too! :D

IMO, the gameplay has overall improved in PES2008...now players make much more realistic mistakes and the CPU is much smarter....they are very good at exposing little holes in your team!

Fifa on the 360 is totally different. Different engine.....like night and day

FIFA08 is absolutely awesome! Its like real life football. Best football game out ever in my honest opinion.
