Is it too early to comment? Or is Fifa 2001 doomed? I followed a link to a game site which rates an average of all the reviews on a game and unfortunately Fifa '01 got an average of 89% if that is the case, I never thought I would say this, but, I'll go out and buy ISS Evolution and play it on my PC!!

I don't know. I think this Fifa game is showing a lot of promise. Did you read the bit about the bigger fields, therfore slower gameplay. I say give the game ago, the internet support is another feature that has a lot of promise.

i'd say that the reviewer in IGN is rather incompetent from what i read though..

just wait till the gamespot uk review comes out ..

You're joking, right?

10% = Awful
30% = Poor
50% = Average
70% = Above Average
90% = Superb
100% = Perfect

And you're telling me that if FIFA 2001 got 89%, that means it should be 'bad'? Get a grip, fellas.

89% taken out of all reviews is quite high...
mmm fifa or iss. Today i'll first buy a playstation with ISS and next month i'll get Fifa 2001 for my pc if it is good. Why should i choose i want both http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif
Iss has its still better gameplay and Fifa has the internet option to play against you all, an improved gameplay and the best graphics.

89% is a very good score. This is disturbing;

"Another annoying little thing that irked me was the opposing defenses ability to slide tackle a person from behind from close to 3 or 4 feet away while still being able to cleanly take the ball away without a penalty, all while both players are running at a full sprint. I just don't think that's physically possible. Maybe I'm just out of shape, but I don't think I've ever seen tackles like that in a real game."

Sound familiar?

Eleftherios:
if you say 89% is not bloody good, then how come you get lower % in school. think about it, if you get 89% in your grade, how long do you have to study to get 89% in you grade, probably 2 whole weeks which is alot. well if fifa was graded with 89%, man thats pretty bloody high mate.

Good point, f. Anyway, I don't think we should rely on these reviews because, in the history of my looking at game reviews, I've seen a lot of $hitty games with good reviews and good games with $hitty reviews, just like music albums. You can't trust these guys, you have to trust yourself. I think that when the game comes out, I will make a topic called "Post your Fifa 2001 review here!" and then we can see what people like us who love fifa think about it, rather than some guy who's posting a review as part of his job...

Good point Soma, HOWEVER NOTEVERYONE will like FIFA 2001. I will be excpecting people to say how much it sucks. Remember, According to the visitors in this forum MANY people dislike it, some said it was their favorite FIFA though. Also, EA's website, had a poll which clearly showed the majority of its visitors liked FIFA 2000. My point is, it's all up to your own judgement.

I liked what i've heard of fifa 2001 and will surely buy it cos if it's better than fifa 2000 and i'm sure it is and has internet play which it does have too then it's good enough for me.

*** FIFA 2001 I LOVE IT ***

Most of these people that review don't know or give a crap about what we want. Most of them are Americans(I am myself, but a rabid European fan). They look at the things Americans would want, like "oranges at halftimes", "harder hits", "better graphics", "Face in the Game". Let me ask you, would you want better gameplay, or Face in the Game feature? I wouldn't trust them either, but Soccer Gaming should have our review coming shortly.

Joe_SG:
do you guy know why americans don't like soccer?
well because soccer is a low scoring game, and thats why fifa is been made a high scoring game which is sucks. they should reduce the # of goals in fifa.

Undoubtly, an 89% of score from a game is a very good score. I work in a web site: www.realidadalternativa.com (http://www.realidadalternativa.com)

my job is play games and write reviews (very "boring" job, really? hehe) and with my experience I can tell you that this is going to be one of the greatest FIFA titles out there.
