View Full Version : Who to manage Sean Walsh 14-05-2007, 09:46:PM I'm looking to start a new career in football manager but I have a problem, I don't have any idea who to be. Any help would be welcome Filipower 14-05-2007, 10:34:PM well, gives us some kind of idea, do you want immediate success, a hell of a challenge, a world-class team, a not so popular league..what?.. PSVFOREVER 14-05-2007, 10:36:PM RKC Waalwijk. yoyo913 14-05-2007, 10:42:PM Helsingborg Theodorakis 15-05-2007, 09:30:AM Deportivo La Coruna and Parma offers a great challenge. since they have a tradition of success, it's more easy settling them as a big club. Zlatan 15-05-2007, 02:05:PM BV Veendam. Sean Walsh 15-05-2007, 05:36:PM thank you to everyone who replied. I have decided to go with Helsingborg and for anyone who is interested i will be starting a new thread so people can follow my progress yoyo913 15-05-2007, 06:40:PM :mrpimp: Nimreitz 04-06-2007, 05:17:AM Help me out here. Team with a hefty transfer budget, weak European league, not Shakhtar. rpvankasteren 04-06-2007, 04:17:PM If you consider the Turkish league weak: Fenerbahçe, Besiktas, or Trabzonspor. Serie B: Juventus. Austria: Salzburg. In the Ukraine, but not Shakhtar: Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk or Dinamo Kiev. The fees get less hefty from top to bottom. PSVFOREVER 04-06-2007, 04:49:PM Rosenborg, Brondby or Kobenhavn They all have balances of 20m-30m €, if you request a bigger transferbudget, they'll give you something like 10-20m to spend. Bobby 05-06-2007, 07:56:AM Rosenborg, Brondby or Kobenhavn They all have balances of 20m-30m €, if you request a bigger transferbudget, they'll give you something like 10-20m to spend. FCK can't sign big players though, I ended up settling for the likes of Dave Nugent. I signed Kristen Nemeth with them though, which I've been gloating about since Liverpool really signed him. 3 non-EU (or swiss) limit in the match day squad too. PSVFOREVER 05-06-2007, 08:06:AM Well, he did want a team in a weak european league, so in the end, you'll have this problem with every team in a weak league Nimreitz 05-06-2007, 06:53:PM I'll look into Fener. That sounds exactly what I was looking for. I just want to have a team like Dynamo Kiev with Sheva, or Galatasaray 6 years ago. Dominant in the league, non-traditional power in Europe. Does anyone know what the prize money or TV money is like in some of the smaller leagues? Ukraine gives you nothing I know. Tom 05-06-2007, 07:02:PM I would think VERY low Dan, hence why in real life, there's such a massive gulf between the teams that get to Europe, and the ones that don't. Nimreitz 05-06-2007, 07:05:PM Yeah. Turns out Turkey is even less desirable than Ukraine. I'll have to look around a bit, or just keep going with my Shakhtar game. Zlatan 05-06-2007, 08:41:PM I believe Lyon has lots of money too. Although the French league is not really a weak league, they do dominate that league. Áļéאָ 05-06-2007, 08:42:PM Fener is fine, owners have money and as long as you get into CL you'll have more than enough money PSVFOREVER 06-06-2007, 04:09:PM You should be able to attract big players to the Turkish leagues, think of Appiah or Roberto Carlos. Áļéאָ 06-06-2007, 06:47:PM carlos > Age 34 :p Filipower 06-06-2007, 06:57:PM I believe Lyon has lots of money too. Although the French league is not really a weak league, they do dominate that league. yeah they have like 14 mill :jap: Elite Waxo 07-06-2007, 04:22:AM try manchester city, it's a good choice, it's not that great of a team :D.... post 1,111 :D PaPaGeorGeo 18-06-2007, 09:53:AM Man City are poor, Im managing them now. Although if you can do alright in the first season you can normally get some pretty good free transfers and loans. |
