Im a big fan of the US national team...

I own fifa 2000 for the playstation and almost exclusively use the national team. I need to be familiar with the guys on the team I am using.

I just bought a new computer (it's pretty fierce) and I can't wait to get the PC version of Fifa 2001. I am very excited about trying out the online gaming. (never done it before)

I use the national team alot in FIFA 2000 for PSX as well...it is kind of out of date though as far as the roster goes.

you are absolutely right about the roster. What do you think the major differences will be between the PC and PS2? Assuming some day I will be able to find a PS2 I would certainly get one, but I pretty much only play Fifa and NBA Live.

i think the graphics might be a little more polished on the PS2...we wont see the true difference until the next generation of games come out. I think the current ones may have been rushed a little.
im getting the pc version as well to take advantage of the great patches that are developed.

I'm quite the novice as far as PC gaming goes. Could you quickly explain the whole patch thing. What will they allow us to do?

Patches provide a number of different things...you will be able to add many things to the game such as roster updates, addtitional teams that may not be included, stadiums, new balls, adboards, new kits and many other things...they can be downloaded from many different sites, although this one is the best. the important thing is to backup your original data which may be overwritten by some patches.

No prob...if you want some examples go to www.fifa2000.com (http://www.fifa2000.com) and look at some of the downloads. they give descriptions of what each patch does (although you wont really know what it does until you install it)

USA can be a fun team to root for...they often show flashes of brilliance..such as in the 94 world cup when they knocked out a strong colombia team then went on to lose to Brazil 1-0.

Yeah U.S.A shows flashes of brillance but we won't get to see it on the world stage because they won't qualify for world cup 2002 fo sho

I haven't counted them out yet. (despite the personnel problems (i.e. reyna))
