Becks is God 27-06-2007, 12:06:AM Hala Madrid!
Nice first post...
First time I didn't start, I'm glad you did. I am gonna try to be more active next season on these boards because school kept me busy last year.
HALA MADRID!
KingPaulV 27-06-2007, 02:40:AM Here we go, let the dream begin once again, first match of the season against sevilla for the Spanish Supercup
F4rrukh 27-06-2007, 03:14:AM We will beat Sevilla for the Supercup! Let's take the League and hopefully the 10th Champions League trophy this year! Here we come!!! HALA MADRID!
Socrates 27-06-2007, 03:20:AM Seems like noone has posted about the election mess? Not sure if anyone read it or not but here is how I understand things are going right now.
Spanish TV channel (Tele 5) showed a program where through a hidden camera they interviewed people suppousingly involved in the manipulation of the votes in favor of Calderon. The testimonies clearly show that votes were bought for 50 euros, manipulated by every possible mean, and that the witness who declared against Villar in front of the judge who finally cancelled the mail votes was/is a Calderon man and involved in the business.
They also say that Calderon is not the real President of Real Madrid but just someone who does what a bigger guy says.
More information and videos IN SPANISH here: http://www.telecinco.es/dn_10816.htm"
If this is all true it would make a lot of sense, I never got how Calderon ( a lawyer ) was able to fork out enough money to actually run for president and also the guy is a liar, corrupted, big mouth, and everything else that is disgusting. I never liked him from the start of things and this season has not made me change my mind one bit.
According to Calderon ( and the people in the video ) they were paid by Tele 5 to say those things which they claim are false and are now sueing Tele 5...which makes no sense really. Why would you sue the people who paid you to lie? Well lets see how this works out, it's suprsing that not many sites are reporting this....not sure if that mean they are ingorning this very big event or something else but lets wait and see how this works out.
Very nice first post.I can wait for the new season to begin. HALA MADRID !
I was just wondering...I don't mean to start anything but why doesn't the thread have a headline...something like "Real Madrid Thread (Campiones de La Liga)" or something like that...it's just a question.
Javyol 27-06-2007, 12:51:PM Hopefully we can get some young players like Nasri.
Jaouadinho 27-06-2007, 01:10:PM thanx every one hopefully this is a very big season for real madrid, and lets hope we get that 10th champions league trophy. !!HALA MADRID!!

yeah, it would be cool. maybe Jaouadinho can edit it in.
Regarding transfers, i'd really enjoy if Tevez came here, i doubted his talent alot, but what he did in the premiership was amazing, and i think Spain would be ideal for him. Plus we really need a guy like him in attack.
This stuff with the president and the coaches is pissing me off. I'd like a pre-season with a focused team, these changes in the leadership just disrupt the concentration. On the other hand, we'd really benefit from an offensive coach, we're screwed either way :p.
F4rrukh 27-06-2007, 05:09:PM Yeah that thread title would be great, by the way guys vote the thread so it becomes 5 star! That's how it should be! :p

Interesting read. I am starting to hate Calderon more and more, so I wouldn't be sad if we got rid of him. I just hope that such things don't affect the team . Maybe a president who would come in an say that he likes what he saw last season so no radical changes need to be made. Ohh! yeah and that after winning the title will say with confidence that our coach will be here next season. none of this, we will see in two weeks BS.

I'v also heard of that. I really am worried about this. This isnt good at all! Lets see how it develops! But for now.....HALA MADRID! And btw, that board meeting that supposed to be Monday is tomorrow at 12:00! I think they will announce that they will sack Capello. Really a shame to handle like that with a coach that brought you the title, but this board is really corrupt and stupid that its normal for them to do such things.
OrgulloVikingo 27-06-2007, 10:32:PM About signings:
Seems to me that our club doesn't really know exactly what they want or don't know how to go about getting who they want. All this talk about Kaka and Co. is the usual rhetoric. Our lovely friends Barcelona have moved quick on who they want and who they "need". Henry done, Abidal close to signing, Chivu close, etc. I hope we get who we need (of course, probably waiting for Schuster to be official) without the usual circus and clubs trying to squeeze all the blood out of us.
Calderon doesn't even have the decency to tell Capello that he is no longer wanted. Seems like it's a bit disrespectful to keep him hanging. Lets just tell the man he's not wanted so we can all move on.
OrgulloVikingo 27-06-2007, 11:06:PM Hello friends. This post is to inform of any loyal Madridista in the New York metro area who is interested in joining an official supporters club. Us founding members are mostly from the New York East Village super football pub mecca "Nevada Smiths" (best footy pub in the USA, if ever in the area it's a must go. Check www.nevadasmiths.net for fixtures, info, etc.). Nevada's is the home to 7-10 official supporters clubs including Man U, Newcastle, Marseilles & the pigs, Barcelona which leads to our decision to base the penya at "El Nacional" (Spanish cultural center on 14th St. which has an amazing kitchen and events such as Flamenco lessons...an excellent place). Although we choose not to base our penya in the same venue as a Barca penya I feel like I need to plug nevadas for there excellence throughout the years, not to mention all the free pints and free Red Bulls tickets, etc.. The penya will probably be called Penya Madridista El Nacional.
Alot of effort has been made by us over the years to start up a penya and now the fruit is bearing. In order to establish one 6 club members are needed and a minimum of 25 supporters are needed, which we've exceeded by quite a bit. Perhaps many here are not located in the New York area but if you are ever in the area or know of any supporters who cherish watching matches alongside fellow passionate Madridistas, it'd be a great place to go and watch our matches. Anyone interested leave your info and I will provide you with info and my friends' info in NY. I have moved to New Orleans for a while and will assist our penya in design and other matters as well as showing up a few times a year for big matches, meetings and future trips, etc. The penya is just underway. We are alreay in talks with Real Madrid and we hope to kick it off by September. Any personal info you don't feel comfortable leaving on the boards? Please feel free to Pm me. Take care.

Anyway, lets move on. Curious to see who Schuster will bring in...or try to bring in.

i think madrid do know what they need , who they want well it depends who is available and the price tag, iam pretty sure robben is the first one to land in madrid, madrid knew they needed a pure wingman, cause robinho isnt really a wing, like socrates mention one time madrid dont have real wings, another gap is a new CB which imo its gonna be betwen milito and andrade, cause its probable next season ramos is going back to sideback and well they would need at least 2 cb's to rotate and pair with cannavaro, one is metzelder and the other is whoever you get, madrid are also looking someone to replace r.carlos , and theirs been some new speculation recently about drenthe, which imo is stupid giving you guys have marcelo and torres its would just be a waste of young talent really, still if madrid feel theirs a gap missing in that position it should be heinze they should get, in the midfled it all depends if capello stays or schuster comes, if schuster comes iam pretty sure and offensive midfielder is comming ( diego perhaps ) , giving if capello stay's we all know he likes to play with 2 dm's, the only thing i dont understand is why you guys would need a new striker ( tevez ) , with a guy like soldado, raul , ruud, robinho.
but all in all it think madrid do knew what they need and who, imo they are beeing smart just like barca, so good luck in this summer.

Yes if it is true than it will be very very bad for us but it will be even worse if we just ignore it and pretend like nothing is going on.
About transfer's, it all depends on who the new coach is what he wants to do with the team ( Torres at LB or RB, Ramos at CB or RB, and etc ). If it was me I would move Torres to RB and have Ramos be CB. I think the position's we need to fill are
LB - Henize, this way Marcelo won't be in a bad spot as Henize is older and can rotate with Marcelo.
CB - Andrade, should be cheap and would work well with Ramos. Cannavaro can be the backup with Sergio Sanchez as the 4th CB.
RB - Torres as the starter and Cicinho as back/play against weaker teams so we won't be so exposed at the back.
LW - I would first try to get Reyes for cheap and play him as an actual LW and let Robinho be the RW. Quaresma could be an interesting option given that he can play both wings but it still might be risky to get him. In terms of backup I would try my best to keep Mata and promote him to the first team but as a backup, as far as I know the Valencia is still not offical yet.
RW - Not to sure TBH, if we get Reyes than we have Robinho to start the RW but we also need backups. For the RW not really sure, Nieto does not seem good enough and there is not too many cheap options that will be happy on the bench.
ST - Ruud need's someone who can play for him when he is injured or needs a rest. Soldado's seem the perfect fit but he wants to go back on loan to try and make the Spain 08 team so therefore I would sign Saviola for free ( It would be stupid as hell to sign Tevez ) and allow him to rotate with Ruud. This way when Soldado get's back Ruud will most likely be gone and we will still have 2 good ST.
I think the rest of the positions are covered and I don't think we really need an AMC ala Kaka or Diego if we play a flat 4-4-2.

(Y) exactly what i was talking about, except about diego.
Socrates 28-06-2007, 02:00:AM (Y) exactly what i was talking about, except about diego.
The problem I have with Diego or Kaka is that we would have to change our tactic to fit them rather than buying someone for our tactic. Right now we have the team for a 4-4-2 ( with a CM-DM in the middle ) and if we got Diego than we would need to change it to a 4-2-3-1 and that would cause problems for some of the players.

And btw, who saw Brazil yesterday?! They lost 2-0 but hell Robinho was magic!! The guy is fantastic! We should give him a little more chance to play more in a central position with freedom to move. Damn the guy is freakin good!

Bernd Schuster has been released! So there it is. There is our new coach. Good luck Capello, I wish you all the luck in the world :( I still cant believe this sh*t! F*Cking Calderon!

nah i missed it, any videos.
on the whole right wing thing robinho is crap at right wing i agree with justhammy, robinho should play as second striker with ruud thats his best position, we should defenetly try for queresma, i saw robinho play on the right twice last season and it didnt work at all, because he isnt a natrull winger.

calderon is such a dick ******* kaka loving mother ****er, i hope he gets booted out, the guy doesnt know anything about respect or honour treating capello like he is a peace of ****, capello the best manager period good luck to him.

The whole thing is that he would not just stick to the right wing, he would be given freedom to roam around and switch with Reyes to confuse the defence. He could also switch with the SS ( Raul on the left wing, Reyes on the right wing ) so it would be very versatile to us.
MaestroZidane 28-06-2007, 04:06:PM hahaha our president is a F****K joke. Way to go, sack the only guy who wins us a title in four years, restores order in the team and brings them together. Thanks for the title, **** you for the boring play, and also for the crap singing ( like Fabio and Emerson ). Ruud was a Mijatovic buy so that leaves Diarra as his only good buy.
The only thing that sucks is that there is no good replacement's out there right now.

Inter Milan are looking to offload Adriano. They want to discuss a player swap and between him and Cassano and Diarra. (HELL YEAH!!!!!!! GO FOR IT!!! IMO])
Mijatovic is interested in Alex. but he is joining Chelsea.
We will offer $50 million PLUS Emerson for Kaka. Lets hope they bite.

i guees know that ive thought about sacking capelo was probably the right thing to do, i wouldnt compare him to del bosque that was completley diffrent, capello left 10 years ago after he won the league and from then went on to win the 10 champions league and 2 other leagues with basically his team.

it would be one of the crapiest mistakes to let go diarra for adriano, adriano is a huge gamble, and diarra is bearly getting settle in madrid, he hasnt really show waht he is capable off, if you guys wanna let go cassano its should be for another player that is not adriano seriuosly, maybe a wingforward should be the priorty.
about drenthe i already mention tought he is amazing what would you do with marcelo an torres, heinze should be the priorty right now, yesterday agaisnt the US he showed how good he is, hes a completly diferent player from players of the mould of drenthe or marcelo, he would give you more balance in your back four, and believe you me , you guys need it.
For us that is the main reason why we bought abidal, silvinho and gio were mainly liabilitys, they would leave us with such huge gaps.

If we got Drenthe we would play him in the midfield, not the defence. It is the same in Romania but then again all of that comes from the opinion of the press which then imprints itself on the fans, however no matter how s*itty you play the fans will always be happy if at the end of you the year if you are champions.
Firing Capello = dumb move

I posted something about Drenthe in the other thread, but i'll do it again ;)
Drenthe played as LB for Feyenoord. He was one of their best players last year, but again, that wasnt that hard, because they s*cked. He isnt very good in defending and leaves some gaps behind. Like everyone has seen he is very fast and has great technique, but I would say that Marcelo is better then him. As a midfielder he is better then LB though. There he can do his dribbles and give crosses. But like i'v said before....he is NOWHERE as good as Robinho. So why get him?! He just played ONE season at Feyenoord, just one. He should really play 2 more should we consider to buy him. Again, he is overrated atm. He played a great U-21 European Cup, but he has to prove himself in the Netherlands before he goes to a big club like Real.
EDIT: AS are saying that we want to get Robben, Reyes and Huntelaar.
They want to bid 20 mil for Robben + a six year contract.
We also want Reyes for 7 mil. (dont think Arsenal will agree)
Huntelaar is second choise behind Soldado. So if Soldado and Real dont finish their talks soon they will try Huntelaar. Personally I would do everything to get Soldado. He is fantastic! And he proved himself.

Oh please. Get your facts straight. He wasn't even a regular starter for Feyenoord last year, let alone one of their best players. Besides, he made a huge number of (fatal) mistakes. Just to name one: He missed his interception vs. Groningen. They scored the decisive 1-1 and Groningen reached UEFA-cup, Feyenoord was empty handed.
He is terrible at left back as I said before and he is nowhere near Real Madrid quality. I envisage he will be a sub at Feyenoord next year as well (De Cler will play DL and van Bronckhorst will play ML)
Jaouadinho 30-06-2007, 04:00:PM just been readinh an interview with pedja mijatovic.
and theses are the players that we are currently looking at and have a chance for playing for us next season.
chivu, robben, drenthe, saviola, gabi millito, alves and toldo
others, soldado and he said reyes is likely to stay, and metzelder is already signed.
i think it would be intresting to see cicinho and alves in the right hand side they will be interchanging all the time and it will really confuse defenders.
saviola woiuld be a good option but we have soldado.
reyes or robben, i guess whoever is the cheapest.
chivu or millito, id go for millito because he know the spanish league very well, but i think he will be wasted as i dont see him as a starter, we should try for someone younger and cheaper or promote from castilla.
toldo, id prefer someone from castilla to be promoted like codina, adan or kiko casilla.
drenthe never seen the guy play so i cant really say anything.
Socrates 30-06-2007, 04:31:PM It looks like we are finally backing off of Kaka, thank God.
Anyway about the players we have been linked to now I would say
No thanks to Chivu - I would rater get Andrade who would be cheaper and is already experienced in La liga, I would also say no to Gabi as he would cost too much.
It seems like the club wants a vertan GK as Casillas backup, in which case I would want us to sign Toldo over Dudek.
According to the report Drenthe is a player we have been watching from the last season, seems like our managment is very interested in him so I would say lets get the first option on him so that in a couple of years if he gets really good we don't get scerwed over on the player and also we could settle for a better price.
Seems like we might be getting Robben after Malouda sings for Chelsea. Not really that happy about the move with Robben's injury's and his is a ballhog too. I would perfer was to get Reyes for the LW but I would not pay over 10 million euros for him.

That's the problem with Real Madrid fans, you guys want lots of titles very fast, with a very attacking-attractive football. Some of you say that you would rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0 and yet not satisfied until you win at least a CL and La Liga. People would be building a monument to Capello if he led another team (other than Barca) to La Liga. I really wonder how long Mourinho would last at Madrid. You started the season badly? Your team was a mess that was supposed to challenge for 3rd spot, 2nd at most. You know Mourinho didn't start all that breath-taking at Chelsea either, he was behind Manchester for most of the first 19 games and that's with the players he had. What's more important how you started or how you finished? There is a reason why people build up for future, otherwise **** teams like Fulham would never make it to EPL, if they looked back on their past.
Madrid finally finds someone that can take care of the players big ego, sort it all out and wins the title straight away, with great promise in the future and you sack him? Stupidity on the whole new level. Only in Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, Figo, Beckham, Zidane and Roberto Carlos are not in Madrid anymore.
Most of you doesnt know why Capello have been kicked cause you are not Real Madrid supporters.
Real Madrid is not about winning titles only, is also about doing good football, thats the big difference between Real Madrid and Milan or Juventus. The italians only care winning, Barça or Madrid need much more than winning.

Capello was signed to win a title soon. Mission Acomplished then Capello kicked. Fair enough.
Capello style was pain in the ass. If Madrid get 75 points instead getting 76 everybody would be agree in kicking Capello.

Let me ask you this first, how many Madrid games did you watch? I mean it's easy to look at the table and say Capello is safe, keep him. The Madrid fans want to see a good match, that does not mean a 100 stepovers and one-twos at blizering pace. It means playing a controlled game, where we build up the attack. Not counter-attacking and trying to defend for most of the game. The 2 DM's never worked ( Emerson-Diarra ), they never created anything and more likely than not we also let in stupid goals. Many times Emerson was taken off for Guti or someone else at half-time. Logic should tell Capello to stop trying to make that **** work. We won the league on momentium but this only last a couple games, not a whole season. I doubt Capello was building for the future with players such as Cannavaro and Emerson who he got. He won a title and great job for that but he had many mistakes that he made and people tend to ignore that because of the title we won.
It's funny that most Madrid fans are already over Capello being sacked. Also how can you say he would win us titles? Anything could have happened, at times we still played like crap in the last 12 games but we won which was all that mattered. Espanyol first half, Mallorca first half, Recreativo second half, and etc.

i can agree with some of this, but still you guys can deny madrid just dont learn that changing coaches so often does more damage than good, even if you didnt like capello's style, i mean see it this way, capello still accomplish what was the objective, winning the league, so why change a good thing, i mean those last games madrid made pretty much progress in playing good football tought the problem that madrid suffered so much in those last games was mainly your crappy defense it was not all on a capello really, so now with schuster or whoever is going to be the coach its like starting from zero again cause you guys put a gap on something that was starting to work ... and about the fans beeing already over capello that proves more of help's point imo , still i might think when next season is in process we will see if the fans really got over capello or will miss him.

No I don't think it's good to always change the manager but than again I would have never hired Capello because we all knew he was just going to be a short fix. Even if we did not fire Capello than next summer we would have because he was never meant to be a long term coach so we would still have to come to this point. Capello did certain things right but also did quite a big wrong, I don't have an issue with him being fired but am a bit worried about who will replace him.
Capello still played with Emerson-Diarra towards the end of the season whenever he could, only to put Guti or someone else in for Emerson at half-time because we were not playing good, this is Capello's fault. We did not play any better but our games were more exciting because the title was so close and we keep coming back to win it in the last mins of the game.
My last comment about most Madridista's getting over Capello being sacked was meant to be saying that the people who actually watched and followed Madrid last season are not talkig about Capello anymore but the ones who did not are still going on and on about how this is the biggest mistake ever.
Drvar 01-07-2007, 02:28:AM i congratulate Capello on the title, and on his efforts here. most of us expected a disastrous season, and while it wasnt far from that, we won the league.
the thing is, how much did Capello really do with the team? The defence was as crap as it has always been, what little we gained with 2 DM's we lost alot more in the attack. even in the brilliant run in the end, most of the time his starting eleven didnt perform, having to come back ALOT of times in the second half, when he'd made substitutions.
about the run of wins itself, it really was incredible, on some occasions lucky, but it was imho driven more by the players spirit, after seeing Barca slip up so many times, the team just gained confidence, and that is the most important thing in football. maybe Capello provided that confidence, i dont know what happened.
in my opinion, one of the biggest factors in this season was in Beckham and Ruud. Beckham started playing the way he was supposed to, after he got locked out of the team. Ruud was just in excellent form all season. this again, doesnt have alot to do with Capello.
and for a defensive coach, we sure sucked some balls in defence. Cannavaro for most of the season, Salgado all the time, Helguera in some games, Emerson in alot of games, so many mistakes. And Cannavaro and Emerson were Capello's boys, yet they were one of the worst.
ok this post is a ******* mess, my point is, this season was just unbeliveable, and i dont think Capello would be able to repeat it next season, because this year we were carried by spirit, because the team was really hungry for a title, to repeat this, you need to be playing great, even when not under pressure. i dont think he'd be able to bring that.
and as Crusader said, if Real had not beaten Mallorca, or if Barca hadnt tied Espanyol in the last seconds, what kind of season would this be? pretty bad in retrospective. Knocked out of the CL by Bayern, which was crap as hell, knocked out of Copa del Rey by Betis, who barely avoided relegation this season, and were crap as hell too.
the decision seems stupid, but you have to look at it objectivly.
yt23w 01-07-2007, 07:31:AM Just a funny fact i'd thought would be appropriate:
Schuster would be Real's eighth coach since 2003 after two-time Champions League winner Vicente del Bosque, Portugal's Carlos Queiroz, stop-gaps Antonio Camacho and Mariano Garcia Remon, Brazilian Wanderley Luxemburgo, another caretaker in Juan Ramon Lopez Caro and Capello.
i dont think Capello was going to be a long term coach anyway. Whether he won a title or not he was gonna get sacked. it doesnt surprise me at all.
i just wonder how Schuster will play the team (eg what formation and roles n stuff) and who he would like to sign. i guess time will tell.
AdyKew 01-07-2007, 05:28:PM caps is gone, if u thought he shouldnt have been sacked then get over it, its happened. no amount of bitching will bring him back.
i honestly think tevez is coming to real madrid, and maybe robben.
i would like to see them here aslong as robben stays fit, tevez would play on if he was injured so his fitness isnt a problem but robben is a bit of a girl.
seems like wenger will stay at arsenal for another year so as far as im concerned he is not on the market. so it is schuster we r gettin.
no matter wat anyone says schuster is a good coach, he got getafe to the copa del rey final, WE CANT EVEN GET TO THE COPA DEL REY FINAL! and to lose to sevilla in the final isnt a bad thing, they showed their class this year. they have a great youth system and are reaping the benefits from selling big e.g reyes, ramos, baptista. jesus navas and alves will be next to go for massive amounts of money.
we need stability in the team , the coach and the board. this time its different we have stability in the team. they won the title not capello. yeh he brought guti on one game and he worked wonders and then reyes. but other games when brought guti on he did absolutley **** all. its down to the players if they perform on the day.
thats enuff from me, any one else want tevez? i love him and want him here but where he wud play i dont no
KingPaulV 01-07-2007, 06:51:PM ok fellas some news here.....
First Kaka:
The word is that Kaka requested aafter a personal meeting with Berlusconi that he be allowed to leave Milan to Madrid. Apparently Berlusocni doesnt like to talk about the issue, but now that Kaka has made it clear that he does want to leave at least to him it is possible that a backdoor deal might be in the works, something to include Emerson and Cassano possibly goiing to Milan as compensation....More to follow
Tevez:
He denied the comments that he prefers Inter over Madrid, he said that He would like to go to Madrid just the same and that he would not mind going to either or. So that there is a strong possibility he could come to Madrid.. And said that there is no offer from Madrid yet.
Robben:
Madrid is about to close a deal with Robben. Right now the hold up is Chelsea. As long as Chelsea dont move to block the deal it could happen within the week or so.
Chivu:
Madrid has raised the bid for Chivu to 16 Million, now they are the highest bidder in front of Barca and Inter. very likely that they will ge Him...However Roma is saying they are giving priority to Barca over all contenders. Alex and Gabriel Milito are the other options, they would have to be bid for and won over in a bid battle as well.
Reyes:
Apparently Mijatovic is ready to make a move on Reyes to keep him at the club, at the same time its been reported that Julio Baptista will get a chance to make the roster this season as he is going to the pre-season camp witht the team...
djgperu1 01-07-2007, 07:43:PM i have always liked how baptista plays.. i believe he deserves a 2nd chance..
i read the news bout kaka at as.com;yet i still hope itz true
mijatovic said that he already had 3 signings that were almost done deals.... so i hope they include reyes and robben..
Jaouadinho 01-07-2007, 10:27:PM i dont see the point of gettign reyes and robben, one of them would do and is reyes, we should try for a right footed winger, seeing how ribery is out of the question i would go for the next best thing and that is queresma i guess.
Vedran-10 01-07-2007, 10:29:PM We clearly have the advantage in Chivu's case.
We win against Inter because Roma don't want to sell to their league rivals, and apparently we win against you because we're offering a longer contract, and that's what the Romanian wants.
We also probably have the advantage in Gabi Milito's case because he said he would say yes to Barcelona, and no to Madrid. Probably because of the failed transfer when you signed Woodgate instead.
MaestroZidane 01-07-2007, 10:41:PM Why do people keep posting stuff about KAKA?? I'm a very optimistic person, but I don't see kaka in a madrid shirt any time soon.
Yes! I hope we do sign reyes and if babtista does come back then there is no point in getting Tevez. He's a good player, but we don't need him.
I'm aware of what schuster did with Getafe, and if he is our next coach then I just hope he can take what capello did, and raise the stakes.
justhammy 02-07-2007, 12:25:AM Robinho just scored a hattrick for Brazil. The last 2 goals were f*cking amazinggg!!

yt23w 02-07-2007, 09:19:AM yeah he was brilliant today. next season will be the big one for him i think Notice he was playing as a SS not a midfielder.
I'd say no to Tevez. for some reason i just dont think he'd play well for us. im not sure why. Plus there are A) better players out there and B) bigger priorities for us, like a coach and some other positions that need players (like the wings!)
I'd would like to keep Reyes, and Baptista, im not too fussed about Robben, i'd like Quaresma or Ribery rather than him.
WHY have we not signed ANY players at all? (other than Metzelder, who was done ages ago.) ok Barca got Henry, Toure and some other guy, but we have NO ONE! just rumors! is it coz we are waiting for the coach? or do we like to make it hard on our selfs deliberately, then throw cash at other clubs when transfer time is nearly over.

We have the green light for Robben. So that is finished he will come. I think that Reyes will stay too. We are in the fight for Chivu. (altough Barca and Inter are favourites) And as Mijatovich said, there are already some deals done. So just wait for the presentation of the new coach and then the signings will come. Believe me, we will sign a lot of players. (probably alot that we dont need) And BAPTISTA is coming back!!! That made my day!! The guy was fantastic the second half of last season. I hope he can make his Sevilla days come back!!!

Im not a huge fan of him too. I prefer Reyes over him, but we should be happy that we sign winger finally! Now Robinho can play more central (I hope)
F4rrukh 02-07-2007, 07:32:PM This thread is going fast :). Guys I hope we get to sign some player now as I don't know why it is taking so long for Gods sake! The other teams have got their rosters well done but we haven't even signed a player yet with money. Metzelder was a free transfer and the other 3 Baptista, Soldado and Balboa returned from their lone period. We have released Pavon, Minambres and Mejia as well. I mean come on we need some players!
By the way Balboa got number 35 and Soldado got Ronaldo's 9. Shirt numbers of Baptista and Metzelder are still to be announced.
Socrates 03-07-2007, 12:24:AM A little update on the transfer rumor here.
Seems like we have agreed on personal terms with Chivu/he has given us the thumbs up to join us and now we need to just sort it out with Roma. Marca reporting that Cassano, Cicinho ( HELL YA! ), or Cannavaro could be used in the deal. This could be excellent we would get rid of Cicinho and get a CB that can also play LB. So it looks like Ramos will be our RB for next season and Torres his backup with Henize or another player to be the LB with Marcelo as the backup. Not too sure on Chivu though TBH but he seems like a good player and can play 2 positions so that's always nice to have.
Also Farrukh_|$B, we have to present the coach first than we can present the players. According to Mijatovic some deals are already done and others are close to being done so just be patient.

Chivu has expressed his desire to join Inter, Barca and Madrid all in the space of a month. I'd like for him to stay in Italy at Inter, and apparently thats his top option, but Roma dont wanna sell to a direct rival. He'd be a failure at Madrid, every defender is. Although a top defender, he does make blunders from time to time (Along with Doni, he was the main reason for Roma's disaster in Manchester).

I second that why you want Cicinho off the team??? if you are thinking about getting Daniel Alves get that off your mind right now i have been watching that guy on the Brazilian NT and he sucks!!!! Cicinho can attack way more than him! :ewan:
big al 03-07-2007, 01:20:AM i dont know whats the big fuzz over chivu , imo he is really overrated, if he doesnt go to barca we either get milito or andrade and the same goes for madrid, so either way i dont think neither team loose if you see it that way.
if you ask me i would rather be fighting for andrade.
Becks is God 03-07-2007, 01:23:AM I'd rather us get Milito than Chivu.

well everybody sucks in the brazil national team except robi, alves plays very diferently in sevilla as every other player for his club , i still think he is better than cicinho any day, but cicinho could be very useful for madrid still, s. ramos should be the priorty in that position now that you are getting new cb's to pair with cannavaro, i know many prefer ramos in the cb position , but the stats dont lie , your defense is very weak when you pair cannavaro and ramos, i think that was the point on bringing at least 2 new cb's so ramos can go back to his position. believe me this comming from a barcelonista a back 4 with ramos, cannavaro, chivu/andrade/milito/ or metzelder , heinze ; what more could you ask for really.

Socrates 03-07-2007, 02:23:AM Soc, why on earth would you want to get rid of Cicinho?
As a RB he gets exposed way too easy. As a RW he is not effective ( loses his suprise that he has when playing as a RB ) and is shut down without too much trouble by the other team's defence. To put it simple Ramos is a LOT better than him and so is Torres so I don't see much use of keeping him and Roma has been wanting him for a while now so we could get some good money.
Oh and I agree with big al, I would rather get Andrade too. I am a bit scared to get defender's from Italy ( Samuel, Fabio, Thuram, and Zambrotta all had bad first season's ) with the whole adaptation process and all, plus from the Roma games I have seen he does make some really silly mistakes.
Randy - If I wanted Alves I would play him at RW not RB. Oh and Alves looks a lot better for Sevilla, seems like their style of play works perfect for him as they attack down their wings a lot.
datboy 03-07-2007, 02:32:AM I get your point, Soc. I still like Cicinho tho. he´s a good squad player. doesnt complain on the bench and he can cover up for Ramos at RB and Robinho at RW.
i think we should keep him.
but Pedja´s offer for Chivu is just ridiculous i think.. 15M euro + any of Cicinho, Cannavaro or Cassano. :S
I know Schuster wants Chivu tho, so Pedja´s doing everything he can to get him.

Btw Soc, I know you hate/dislike Cicinho, but come on....he has played fantastic for us in his first year and when he came back from injury he wasnt bad either. I would definatly keep him in the squad. I compare him to Baptista, because he never complaints and he always works hard. And you also cant deny his lightning speed ;)

Again we are linked with a new player, this time the lucky one isssss Florent Malouda. I mean, WTF?! Every player gets linked with us, we are interested in Robben (the deal was as good as done), we are going to sign Reyes (if we believe Mijatovich) and now Malouda. 3 LWs. This is gonna be a great summer ;) To tell you the truth I would get Reyes over them all and hope he is gonna get his best form back. Robben is IMO the best LW, but I dont like his diving, his love for the ball and his injuries. Malouda is for me 3rd choise even if he is a world class winger.

But Stubborn Calderon and Mijatovic didn't want to talk with Angel Torres because he criticized Calderon when he celebrated la Liga in Zaragoza. Now Getafe won't let Schuster go for free and Real Madrid will have to pay €400.000 if they want Schuster.
July and you still don't have a coach, and the only reason is that Calderon is a retard. It's just childish.

Somehow I am not suprised by this, Calderon has always been an idiot and his victory Zaragoza was stupid as hell which he was rightly critized for. Nothing that he deos really suprises me anymore, never liked him when he got in office and still don't.
Why are we getting linked to so many left wingers? Anyawy way from that list I would say Reyes and Malouda are the best choices but dealing with Lyon is a bitch.

Chivu will almost certainly be a Real Madrid player. Mijatovich upped the bid to 18 mil. And the rest cant give that much! Pretty good signing! Chivu is a great defender, but I must admit that he makes some mistakes. Still Mijatovich has done a good job.

Its about pride between Getafe and Real Madrid president.Schuster has a year contract with Getafe and the only thing that Angel Torres wanted was a call from Real Madrid and he even said that he didn't care if it wasn't from Calderón, just a call from Real Madrid. How the hell do you want to sign a coach who has a contract without talking to his club? Getafe just asked for a little respect. Nobody from Real Madrid made that call, wich is stupid. Calderón doesn't like the guy, ok, but this is not about him, it's about Real Madrid. This is about a president who has to do what it's best for his club. You have no right to go and take any coach you want without talking to his club. Now Getafe are right to ask the money if you want him. The only way to sign someone with contract without talking to his club is to pay the buy-out clause, and that's €400.000.
On the other hand, since Atlético will never be your friends, I don't understand why Real Madrid don't try to have a good relation with Getafe. He could easily be like a feeder club. All the players that want to play in primera but are not ready to play in Real Madrid would happily play for Getafe because they would not have to leave Madrid.

Injury prone or not. Metzelder was free and when fit he is great. (he isnt like Woodgate) And Chivu is a superb defender. I liked him from the days at Ajax and I still do. I prefer Milito a bit but thats football. You cant have everyone. Now we are going to strengthen the midfield with some wingers! ;) Shame we overlook Quaresma! The guy is pure magic!
Jaouadinho 03-07-2007, 11:49:PM fair enough on metzelder but, chivu 18 mill for a player that isnt gonna play centre back and probably will play left back, why spend all that money when we have marcelo and torres on that position, am i the only one here who thinks torres should be playing, he did more then enough last season to warrant a place in the team, no one seems to be mentioning him.
there is no doubting the guy is good, but i rmeber when we were first linked to him every one was saying he is too injury prone. i think we should of just go for andrade, iam not saying we shouldnt buy him because of his history with injurys but because he is too expensive and we have players in his position, and there is the whole thing with him having to adapt to the spanish league.
maybe iam making it sound worse then it is i dont know, well lets just wait and see, but atleast we are making some signing.

mega montana 04-07-2007, 01:21:AM good news about soldado, i was worried he might not get back into the team
Socrates 04-07-2007, 01:35:AM Even if Soldado singed a new contract he could still be loaned out, last I herad that is what HE wants to do so he can be a first team choice for a la liga team and maybe get into the squad for the Euro 2008. Also after Saviola's vacation was over it has been reported that he landed in Madrid so unless he is looking at Getafe or Atletico it seems like he will join us which is better than Tevez joining us.
Also according to Sky we have offered £6m for Reyes to Arsenal but they have rejected as they are holding out for £9.5m. It's good to see us actually make an offer for him and want to keep him, hopefully he can bitch some to keep the price low and have Arsenal more or less just give in.
Feyenoord will discuss Drenthe's future this week with his representative, they have said the biggest club to offically contact Feyenoord has been Real Madrid. If we get him we should just loan him back to Feyenoord for a little bit to improve more.
Now for something different, players leaving us instead of joining us. Raul Bravo lets set to join Olympiakos, Emerson looks set to leave, and Cassano will be gone too. Very nice, I will be happy to see all 3 leave.
KingPaulV 04-07-2007, 02:00:AM so Saviola is in Madrid now?
Dreams Fc 04-07-2007, 02:04:AM Who said Reyes is going to Pathetico? From what I now Mijatovich said that he is going to try to buy Reyes from Arsenal. ;)
EDIT:
http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=342653
I Think he is going!

mega montana 04-07-2007, 05:26:AM yes!!!!!!!!!!!! no more bravo and his comedy blunders!:ewan:
Socrates 04-07-2007, 06:32:AM As has been posted before the Chivu deal is really close to being done. The deal between Roma has already been agreed. El Larguero reported that Mijatovic was having dinner with Chivu's agent to iron out the rest of the deal. It's being reported that Chivu is asking for 5 million euros a season over 5-6 years ( personally speaking that seems a bit much for the salary but meh ).
Zaragoza have turned down an 18 million euro offer from Juve and are demanding 25 million for G. Milito. So if anyone of you guys were interested in him, I think it's better to just back off now.
Also Fabio's brother is saying that Cannavaro is planning on returning to Italy, man this really could be a great summer. Pavon gone, R. Bravo, Emerson, Cassano, and Fabio could leave.
Now I have to wonder, if Cannavaro heads back to Italy and Chivu plays as LB will we be getting another CB? So the backline could look like this
Chivu--NEW CB--Metz--Ramos
Also has anyone seen Chivu as a LB? How good is he at that position? If Chivu is a balanced fullback this could be a very solid backline, not too attack minded nor is it too defensive.

isnt that back 4 the other way around?
about chivu he started as a LB at ajax and thats how he caught roma's eye, i remember even seeing him play as a DM and he did a good job, all in all he is a very polivalent player kinda like marquez , but if you ask me as a CB imo he's the least good, LB is a good choice for him, you need a player that gives you balance in the flanks ( no more carlos, marcelo prototype players) let see if he remembers that posistion hehe... i didnt want him in barca cause of the injury prone issue, we had so much problems with injurys last season i dont think we need another, but then again its a matter of luck , maybe he will be lucky and doesnt get injured this season, iam glad you guys got him he is a less obstacle for us getting andrade, glad to hear about milito too, i know barca would never pay that money and i wouldnt want them to.

I think it's right, anyway you know where the players are supposed to be.
For the record, R. Carlos was one of if not the best leftback's ever. If Chivu is anything like Carlos in his prime I would be jumping up and down, that's how good the guy was in both the attack and the defence ( his ability to recover his position and taclking was just great ). Anyway it's nice to know that he can attack, I am thinking we might play him there so it's a more experience LB. Also one last thing I have not heard too much about anyone getting Andrade TBH, it seems like you guys are going to start working on the G. Milito deal.
justhammy - Hopefully we will start to hear something about him leaving.

i dont know maybe its because we have diferent views of left and right, you are looking at a lineup going from down to up , and i am going from top to bottom , i think thats what happened lol, so forget about it, it doesnt matter hehe.
For the record, R. Carlos was one of if not the best leftback's ever. chivu is good, but he is no roberto carlos , then again who is (cause i do consider him the best ever), and you need to know this now its been long that chivu hasnt play regulary in that position, not to mention he is a completely diferent kind of player than roberto, starting from the phisique, carlos is way more faster mainly because of those powerhouse legs he has, chivu has less tecnique but compensates with beeing a better passer, plus he has more vision to go upfront but not like a wing but more like a libero or even a midfielder, dont know if i am explaning myself, if i were to compare him with a LB it would be more of a player in the mould of maldini. :)
about milito , damm i dont like him really, but its better than not getting nobody, and at least he has la liga experience, i just dont want anybody from the calcio either, if only milito could change his dirty playing ways it all would be alright.
its funny how most expected chivu in my thread, and here most expected milito, i think you and i were the only ones who wanted andrade lol.

that is great explanation of the way Chivu plays. He hasn't played LB even for the NT in a very long time but from what I can remember he always liked to run up and down the left flank and get involved in the midfield game and even score on occasion (will always remember this beaut against England (H))

OrgulloVikingo 08-07-2007, 06:08:AM Anyone following Copa America? Robinho is tearing it up. Something like 5, 6 goals and has been instrumental in most of the other goals. Robinho for Cesc?! What a complete JOKE! We dont need Cesc! We have Gago who is IMO better! So Arsenal can stick Cesc in their a$$!! Robinho will have a big year this coming season and it started at the Copa AmericA! He scored 2 against Chile and is now on 6 goals. He was even subbed after his 2nd goal! I think he can break that Pele record, just 2 goals to go!!
Again Robinho for Cesc?! F*CK OFF!

Also, regarding the rumour about Robinho-Cesc swap. Mijatovich has said that Robinho wont be sold! Because he is an important first team player and that if a team wants him the they have to pay the 90 mil that is on his contract. So thats it for Robinho-Cesc ;)

Give a normal reply or get lost. I am not as impressed by Cesc as everyone here, so if I want to give my opinion about it then I have the right to do that. Gago was fantastic at Boca, got his debut when he was very young and played every game from then on and was very important for that side. At Real he was superb when he played. The game flows more when Gago is on the team. So first see some games of him before you start laughing. In England they tend to overrate their youngsters so im not in for all the hype, because iv seen him alot myself and while he was one of their best players, I still think that he isnt any better then Gago. Why get 2 players for the same position?! Gago is 20, so is Cesc, so one of them should be on the bench and I would never want Gago spending a whole year on the bench, so keep Cesc in London.
SlowSilver 08-07-2007, 06:03:PM Robinho for Cesc?!
F*CK OFF!
EDIT:
In other news, Schuster has said that Cicinho is going NOWHERE!!! He apparently is featuring in his plans! This, with the departure of Salgado has made my day (again)!
Also, regarding the rumour about Robinho-Cesc swap. Mijatovich has said that Robinho wont be sold! Because he is an important first team player and that if a team wants him the they have to pay the 90 mil that is on his contract. So thats it for Robinho-Cesc ;)
I disagree. Cesc is phenomenal - all he needs to do is add goals to his game. If he can cut it in the Prem and be one of the best midfielders there, there's no reason why he can't do the same here.

i think people are mistaken gago for someone else because gago and cesc are to ompletely diffrent players. cesc is an attacking midfielder and gago is more of a holding midfielder who acasianally gets forward we can have both of them playing at the same time.
but i dnt want us to have cesc anyway i wuld prefer diego or someone else.

Calderon: "We Won La Liga Because Ronaldo Left"
Im totally agree with that, Ronaldo was a cancer for the other players and very bad example for the team.
SlowSilver 09-07-2007, 02:30:AM I agree to a certain extent, but c'mon. Is it really necessary for him to come out to the press like that?
If we can play Gago, Cesc, and Diarra all at once, then I am all for getting him.
I don't want our midfield to be crowded though, and waste talent on the bench.
MaestroZidane 09-07-2007, 03:24:AM Maybe someone can lighten me up, but I don't recall Ronaldo coming out and bad-mouthing our team, coach, or president. He doesn't deserve such treatment. Calderon is a P***K. Madrid won because of capello and our players, not because Ronaldo left.
Kulixs 09-07-2007, 03:25:AM I doubt you guy's will get Fabregas, unless you pay a massive amount. It's not a Henry situation, they don't need to sell him, he's awesome and never injured, plus he has so many years ahead of him. AND hes on a 8 year contract. Unless Real pay 30mil + I really doubt you'll get him, it would be suicide by Arsenal.
Arsenal sold Henry. The fans would ass-rape every single board member if they sold another star, especially of Cesc's calibre. They're not selling him.

yep , one thing is that ronaldo was a controversy in the dressing room.
another thing is that ronaldo was the cause madrid played so badly thruw out 3 or 4 years.
since ronaldo left ( january ) uptil madrid's 12 game win streak ( april ) it was 3 months of the same all real madrid, if madrid didnt had those 12 games what then? ; with this i think only capello and the players know what change in the state of mine of the players that made them win the league , its pure space goat rubbish by calderon if you ask me, its like calderon is trying to find things to rant about even tought madrid won the league, i dont know maybe he gets bored pretty easy...
MaestroZidane 09-07-2007, 05:55:AM I hear you man, Just like when they tried to use beckham as a scape goat.
If calderon would just act like a mature president, everything would be fine.. Seriously, is it too much to ask??

Drvar 09-07-2007, 02:40:PM just want to say Calderon is a retard for saying those things about Ronaldo. he may have been the cause of trouble in the dressing room, but to come out with such statements is huge disrespect after the years Ronaldo spent here.
again, i am 100% certain that Ronaldo leaving is not the reason for those miracles at the end of the season. our president needs to learn what respect is.
We finally have a coach! woo woo :). Damn this summer break, i want to start the season :).

why arent we trying to get riquilme he would fit in perfectly into that position and he would be easier to get
MaestroZidane 09-07-2007, 04:35:PM I was thinking about that yesterday as I watched him play and make those great passes. I know that the reason he was let go by villareal was because he had problems with the coach and president. This due in part because of a family (mother) situation. He still has a lot in him, I think having him would be a great addition.
anyone care to add to this??

My opinion about Riquelme wont ever change. The guy is one of the best players in the world and his creativity is something other players cant match! Ofcourse there is something that isnt very good about him and thats that a team should be built around him. If that happens then we are gonna be deadly, if it doesnt then he is gonna be a pain in the a$$! But that is just a dream, I dont think we are after Riquelme. Still a fantastic player!!
So Metzelder is in. I guess Robben will follow too after Malouda went to the Blues. I hope that Schuster keeps Marcelo, because I still want to see the kid play. Reyes will also stay, Schuster likes him alot and so do we!! ;) Soldado is in! Lets hope we can keep Mata (I hope he didnt leave to Valencia yet). I think that Schuster is the right man!
EDIT:

Schuster targets Cesc (again)
I know that this is everydays news, but he again said that he is the highest on the list. He plays on Schusters' old position so he could learn more from him. Well if they want him so bad then go for him, but DONT F*CKING bench Gago! Because Gago, Diarra and Cesc on the midfield is not possible. If they get him I assume that Cesc will get the ACM position and Gago and Diarra will fight for the DM spot?! Not sure about it. I even think that Arsenal will reject every offer ;)
MaestroZidane 09-07-2007, 06:45:PM if csec comes, and thats a big IF, it will be diarra and csec. So expect gago to be a substitute most of the time

And that would be a waste of a superb player. And I would never want that. IF Cesc comes, then Gago should be allowed to search for another club. This is a player that shouldnt be f*cked! Never!

MaestroZidane 10-07-2007, 12:33:AM and thats why, if gago is part of our future, there is no reason to get cesc. otherwise Gago would be looking for the exit.

Riquelme has a big attitude problem. You can see it in his face. after all the big heads during the Galactico era, I don't think we need to get people like Riquelme. It'd be taking a step backwards. Burnt needs to take temperament very seriously and only bring in hardworking players who get along and are easy going. Riquelme looks like the type to mess up a lockerroom easily.
I have a good feeling about Burnt. I think he's gonna put together a very attractive and powerful side. If Calderon can work magic and get him Kaka, we'd be in business. Diego seems ok, at least on club level and Cesc would be nice too. Who else fits the bill? I know we are in the market for a playmaking midfielder like the above mentioned.

Ah, that's better.. for you guys. You know, it's not because of it being 30M €, it's because he may not be worth it. If he was, I wouldn't say it was expensive because he'd be worth it, and since you can afford it everyone would be happy.
I think he's a very good defender and defenately a good buy. He may not be at Carvalho's level for instance, and he clearly isn't now, but who knows he still has a good margin to improve.
For me, and this of course my opinion from watching him play he's at the same level of Luisão from Benfica is. And that is world class.
Jaouadinho 10-07-2007, 02:56:PM i think he will be a good buy cheaper then chivu and it wont take him long to adapt to the spanish league as the portuguess league is quite simillar to the spanish league.

so thats us done in the centre back positions we just need a couple of wingers and maybe an attacking midfielder.

Jaouadinho 11-07-2007, 12:55:AM MaSsiVe, is Pepe a non-eu player?
i think he is but he should be getting his potuguess passport soon, and he says he wants to represent portugal not brazil so that helps us in that sense.
Socrates 11-07-2007, 01:09:AM Interesting news on the price of Pepe, Porto's president says 30 million euros while Calderon and SER are saying 12 million euros while this 30 million euros could be if Quaresma comes in and Baptista goes the other way. Seems a little hard to belive but the 30 million euro pricetag is high too so lets see how this turns out.
Also even if we did spend that kind of money on him it would have been the same with Chivu because he was demanding so much money from his contract, so over 5 years the amount would more or less be the same for both CB's, that is if we indeed did buy Pepe for 30 million euros.
Cadena Ser is reporting that Pepe will be presented on Thursday, they are also saying that something is fishy about the 30 M euro price, Calderón says we will sign 5-6 players total, and that the Drenthe transfer is very advanced. He also states that Mijatovic and Shuster really want to add Drenthe to the team.
Sergio Ramos will sign a new contract tommarow, the deal will still expire on 2013 but he will now get that raise that he was initally promised by Perez. I am very happy for Ramos, he really deserves it.
Well that's about all for now, lets see how the Pepe transfer fee pans out in the next couple of days.
yt23w 11-07-2007, 09:12:AM Kléper Laveran Lima Ferreira (Pepe) and Saviola are ours! Awesome!
getting Quaresma would be a smart move aswell. Baptista never seemed to fit into any position he played in at Real. Didnt do to badly at Arsenal tho. and we neeeeeeed some wingers. Reyes should be kept, i dont know why the decision to keep his is so hard. He's a great player. Robben isnt leaving Chelsea, says Mourinho, at least not without a large price-tag. Will Drenthe be used as a Left Mid? has he actually played there or is he just an attacking Wing Back?
and
who are the players that we are looking at getting to fill the Attacking-Mid role? actual possibilities, not peoples wish list.

I would think Drenthe would play in the midfield, and who knows about the AM position. I mean look at the Pepe transfer, that really came out of nowhere.
Also if anyone is still confused on me saying that Pepe would cost more or less what Chivu would cost there is an article that explians it on AS. http://www.as.com/articulo/futbol/Ma...daiftb_32/Tes/
Basically it says that if we got Chivu for 18 million and gave him that contract he wanted and we got Pepe but according to the reports he agreed for a lower contract the actual amounts over time would look like this
Chivu : 18 million euros on signing fee + 35 million euros on 5 years = 53 million euros.
Pepe : 30 million euros on signing fee + 15 million euros on 5 years = 45 million euros
Chivu is 27 and Pepe is 23 so even if we did pay 30 million euros its not such a bad deal if the contract of Pepe is true ( these numbers are before tax btw ).
justhammy 11-07-2007, 10:58:AM Will Drenthe be used as a Left Mid? has he actually played there or is he just an attacking Wing Back?
If Drenthe comes he should be loaned our for 2 seasons. If Schuster is planning to play him, then I guess we will s*ck at the left side. The guy isnt good enough for Real atm (and I doubt he will be sometime). As a LWB he really isnt good. So I dont see the point of getting the guy, except if we loan him. And above that, I'v read several times that if Drenthe comes, Marcelo will be leaving. And some say Marcelo will be loaned, the others say (mostly Dutch sites) that he will be leaving for good. I'm not against loaning Marcelo to a Primera club, but letting Marcelo leave?! Hell NO! The guy was very good at Fluminense, played decent for the time he got here. So just loan him a season and play Torres at LB! Forget about Drenthe. Atm he is overrated.
Becks is God 11-07-2007, 12:11:PM An interesting quote from Calderon here talking about Pepe:
"He is one of the best central defenders in the world and will form a great partnership with [Christoph] Metzelder."
Does this mean Cannavaro will leave? :brow:
mega montana 11-07-2007, 12:37:PM it'll probably mean he wont play as much
never hurts to have depth
s3nt1n3l 11-07-2007, 03:23:PM Did you realize that our club now only sign player below 26?? (except metzelder)
I meant marcelo,gago,higuian,pepe,saviola..

Schuster said that he wanted 3 or 4 more players and not more, because he said that Real Madrid already bought some very talented players last year. That means (I think) that he is clearly impressed by Higuain, Gago and Marcelo (?). So above Pepe, Metzelder and Saviola there will be 3 or 4 other signings. 2 are almost certain. Robben and Drenthe. The other(s) I have no idea.
I dont know about you guys, but this squad is getting better and better. I mean Metzelder, Pepe and Saviola are very good signings. If you look at Barca, they have signed Toure, Henry and Abidal. Except for Henry, the 2 other signings are of the class that we also signed so we arent doing bad at all on the transfer market. And to add some more, Soldado has signed a deal till 2012. And Schuster has said that he wants to give him and De La Red alot of time next year. Soldado is class! De La Red is good, but not great. (not yet)
LOL EDIT: Ok, I just have read something that is a complet suprise for me and I think for all of you too. WE are apperently interested in Wesley Sneijder. The Ajax midfielder. I guess you guys know him, but if you dont I will give some info. The guy is great. He has fantastic vision, scores lots of goals, can shoot with both legs PERFECTLY, is a very good playmaker. And above all he is WAY cheaper then Cesc. We can get him for like 17-20 mil. He is an CM/ACM. I am suprised, but he would be a good buy. Valencia was interested too. What do you guys think?
HALA MADRID!
Moreira_Benfica 11-07-2007, 08:21:PM Barca also signed Milito
Axolote 11-07-2007, 08:37:PM There is a Rumour here in Argentina...
Real Madrid will try to get Juan Roman Riquelme...Villarreal want 14 million for him.
BTW, is the Kaka deal closed...? Milan wanted 80 million, right?
justhammy 11-07-2007, 08:39:PM Barca also signed Milito

Really? i thought he went with Forlan to Athletico
KingPaulV 11-07-2007, 09:16:PM I heard some of that about Riquelme I am trying to keep things in perspective. In my opinion if we can secure Drenthe, and either Robben, Riquelme or Snijder or Cesc I will be fine, with either one of those last three, namely Robben would be a highher priority if we cannot secure Reyes...
justhammy 11-07-2007, 09:21:PM Really? i thought he went with Forlan to Athletico
No that was denied later on by Riquelme himself I think. He wont go there. I guess he will stay in Boca or make a transfer to a big club.
