Again there is no Portuguese national team, I don't beleive it's due to legal reasons because EA was able to include then in thier Euro2000 game. It's a fu*king shame is what it is.

Yeah Benfica is going through a major slump right now, the coaching change hasn't helped at all so far.Personally I can;t figure out what's happening, Benfica has such great world-class players like Van Hooijdonk, Sabry, Karel Poborsky and Portuguese star of the future defender Fernando Meira, yet we can't seem to get results.

Sabry had a quiet game vs. Halmstads unfortunatly, but it wasn't his fault, Benfica as a whole didn't play very well. We had periods in the game where we dominated but wasted chances and you just can't do that at this level.

I sympathise with ya man, I think for whatever reason it may be it is a disgrace that a quality side like portugal are not included, there has to be a reason why. Im croatian and if croatia was not included I would be fuming aswell.

One consulation at least when the game is released these qualty team and kit builders will make a portugal team without a doubt, at least thats some consulation.

last year so those great patch makers will have one this year..

But i would like to see the Portugal League also, because there are a lot of great teams, but instead of this, there are so many rivaleries between the Big clubs in Portugal, which mamke such a League even more interesting! Just like the Turkish League, which is not included in this game, but we get our National Team this time!

Yeah I gotta assume it's over legal problems or maybe some kind of dispute EA had with the Portuguese federation, but in the end it's ok because teams are easily edited. Also I've heard nothing of a rest of the world league....I understand the Portuguese league isn't the strongest but it would at least be nice to have Benfica, Porto, Sporting, and Boavista in the game to play european competions, not to mention some teams from other countries, like it's very unrealistic to play a CL without clubs like Dynamo Kiev, Spartak Moscow, Galatasary, etc but again, all we'll have to do is some editing. All I ask is that EA just make a great game, no more pinball, realistic pace, and bigger pitch....if all that is in the game like they say it will be, then we'll do the rest.

I completely agree with you, It is a terrible loss not to have the Portugeuese and Turkish leagues for Europe and the Argentinian and Mexican leagues for South America, even the J-League of Japan and one or two african country leagues.

EA could be cunning and adapt the player and team edits to make it easy to construct the portugeuese and Turkish leagues, especially if they surprsingly include a large number of players onthose national teams, and make an option to include players on listed in nationa teams in league sides.

Alternatively, I suppose they could create the league identically bar a letter in the name omitted or changed, they could cirumvent legal complications.

As for legal reasons, for national teams, the body for EA deals with to include national teams is FIFA not the individual country and they have official trademark rites and have had them for some time, which is why they can include any international team they want, however its different for a countries league I think, the responsiblities and negotiations goes down to the country's FA and some of the clubs who sell certain marketing rite and a strongly bound by some of their sponsorse, depending on their interest.
