Recently I downloaded great kits for Fifa2001. I checked almost all topics on this great forum to find out how to install them (thanks to all posters!). I tried everything, thought I did everything right, but the new kits didn't show up in the game. The funny thing was they were visible in EA Graph, so they should be there somewhere.
I posted the question on this forum and got great replies. Tried them, but still no new kits in the game! Then I thought it might have something to do with other patches I downloaded before and installed. And finally I found it!!! I downloaded a patch to update the names of the Dutch league teams to the right ones. E.g.: my favourite team is PSV (from Eindhoven, The Netherlands), but in the game it is described as just 'Eindhoven'. The downloaded patch fixes the team names and rosters in the total Dutch league, which is a good thing. But apparently this overwrites more or less the infomation in the kits.big file and exactly that was the reason the new PSV-outfits already were in the kits.big file (and
visible through EA Graph), but didn't show up in the game. I removed the installed files (from the conflicting name/roster update patch) in the \fifa 2001\user folder. Wow: now I started up the game and saw the new kits. FANTASTIC!!!

Now I will try to find a way to run the useful name/roster update patch, without causing conflicts with the kits.big file. Perhaps other more experienced users have any ideas too, which they could post in this topic. Anyway, I'm very grateful for the help I got!
By the way, also for less experienced users: I found a great page with a step-by-step kit making tutorial, which can be found at http://www.greek-tournaments.com/Eng/tutorial.htm. It's a very good step-by-step explanation, including everything you need to know in order to make great kits!!! The best tutorial for newbies for importing fsh-files directly and quickly in kits.big through a .bat file is found at http://www.fifamls.com/tutorials/2001/bat.htm. But of course it also works with EA Graph.

Bye-bye and greetz from Paul.
