How many languages do you find in your collection of songs? Does a song being sung in a particular song make you abhor it? Me, 99% of my songs are in english. There are maybe up to 3 in hebrew, 3/4 in spanish, 1 french, 1 italian, and 2 by Johnny Logan. Generally, I only listen to songs in english, an inner sense of racism I can't control. I tend to change the channel when spanish songs come on, even if the starting acoustics are good. For a non-english song to finds its way in my list, it would have to be erection-provoking good. And it does so happen that 6 of he aforementioned songs (excluding Logan) are some of my favorites.

^^ Totally agree.
Although I sometimes enjoy Latin languages in songs, but that depends very much on the type of music. Can't stand Dutch sang songs though, it just doesn't sound right and mostly it's sh*t music anyway.

Mostly English, and maybe the occasional catchy Spanish song. But mostly English.

Weird that in the one method in which segregation is supposed to be overcome, and unison under one language, music, is perpetuated, there is still some deep seated racism. Then again, this is SG.

I'm open to pretty much anything, though I'd be lying if I said that there aren't certain languages that sound more pleasing to my ear...

Most of my music is in English, then I have a bunch of tracks by bands from the former Yugoslavia, and a song here and there sung in Spanish, Portuguese etc...

Alo, Salut, sunt eu, un haiduc,
Si te rog, iubirea mea, primeste fericirea.
Alo, alo, sunt eu Picasso,
Ti-am dat beep, si sunt voinic,
Dar sa stii nu-ti cer nimic.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.

Te sun, sa-ti spun, ce simt acum,
Alo, iubirea mea, sunt eu, fericirea.
Alo, alo, sunt iarasi eu, Picasso,
Ti-am dat beep, si sunt voinic,
Dar sa stii nu-ti cer nimic.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,

nema zvijezde danice

evo zore evo zore
Bogu da se pomolim
evo zore evo zore

Have I ever told you that I can fart in French?

The absolute worst is when someone tries (and failes!) to sing in English when it's clearly not their native language.. I still get the shivers when I think about the 2-3 episodes of Portuguese Idol I watched.

I have four different languages in my collection (German, Swedish, English, and Icelandic), maybe five if you count American/Canadian and British accents as a different language.

Sigur Ros are the Icelandic band, they're pretty famous..

Kent is this Swedish band who have a couple of albums in English but everything else in Swedish, they're the biggest band in Sweden.

Sportfreunde Stiller, Wir Sind Helden, and Juli are three pretty popular German bands.

Anyways, you shouldn't let language restrict what you listen to. As long as the song sounds good, lyrics shouldn't be everything.

Amen to that. Watching some of those loud mouth, confident types sing in English when it clearly either isn't their first language or one they can handle properly is annoying. The French singing shows offer plenty of cringeworthy moments like that.

I remember years ago this young blonde girl sang Shania Twain's "That don't impress me much", and it was total gibberish. My sister and just couldnt stop laughing.

50% English and 50 % is in Spanish, 1 Frhench and 1 Italian

is not racism , i hate when i listen to a song and i dont understand it, is a bit frustrating, it has to have a very good rythm or a hot chick in the video (Alizee, she is hooooot)

what do you mean 1 French and 1 Italian?
if that's percentage it'd take you up to 102% :(

I listen to English songs the most, but I do enjoy listening to songs in different languages... right now I have songs on my Ipod sung in English, German (Die Toten Hosen...), Russian (It sounds good, but really, I don't understand a word they say), Japanese, Portuguese (only one song, though) and that Civ4 song, Baba Yetu, I guess it's swahili...
