I think the breadth of league and country offerings is pretty good, actually. The major disapointments were no Portugese national team, and none of the up-and-coming Carribean countries (Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador, Costa Rica.) I'm sure these may have been better choices than San Marino and Cyprus - but what can you do? I am pleased to see that Ghana and a few more African teams have been added. I'm sure there will be a lot of whining about the Middle East and Asian teams - Bahrain, Kuwait, Palestine, Thailand - but it is a big world, and some people will probably enjoy playing a custom Asian Cup.

As for the leagues, I don't know how the rest of you play but I usually choose a weaker side in one of the key leagues (Spain, Germany, Italy or England), leave the transfer switch alone and try and build a squad composed of lesser known players from the nether-leagues MLS, Denmark, Greece on a budget. If you say FIFA is too easy, you ought to try this - it enhances the managerial gameplay. For me, the leagues outside of the core ones I mentioned are just hunting grounds for good, cheap talent - this is why I'm usually disapointed if the Rest of the World section doesn't include many clubs outside of Europe.

But ....
bigger pitch
enhanced gameplay
more teams
better tactical movement off the ball
more in-game variables
side-line activity

... I'm going to go out on a limb and say this might be one ****ing awesome footie game. Bring it on!

You make a good point....while I'm disapointed there isn't a Portuguese national team, it's not the end of the world since one of the first things I'm gonna do when I get the game is edit a team like Hong Kong and change them to Portugal. But what really matters as you say is the other things like Gameplay, bigger pitch, etc......and don't forget the Internet play feature, it's gonna be interesting playing against other fifa players from around the world. I'm sure there will be plenty of online leagues started too which will be a lot of fun.
