I don't know what will be Paraguay's line-up if anyone knows please post.

Finally the battle for the leadership of the group C and to decide the rivals of Peru and Mexico in the quarter finals. I predict a tough 2-1 for Argentina. Tevez to score 2 goals for us and Cardozo(if he plays) for the paraguayans.

It will be a hard game, although I would have liked to see Tevez, Messi, and Aimar together :(

hope this game is not boring.

Watched the U.S - Colombia Game and even though we lost (U.S), I found the game interesting.

has it been any good?
is Lucho playing alright?

HT 0-0.

Lucho has been playing fine a bit imprecise(sp?) with some passes, doesn't seem to connect well with Palacio for now, the best seems to be on the left with Zanetti and Tevez, they and Aimar are playing fine so far. Paraguay can't get the ball so they defend it's hard to get to their box we should try to use more the wings or out of the box shot like Gago and Tevez tried, Caceres has been the best of the first half so far he took every ball that came by. Both teams had some chances here and there, Argentina had a clear one but Aimar couldn't head well.

C'mon Argentina! C'mon!
Do they really want to face us?

The game has been pretty much under Argentina's control, but we haven't been able to capitalize on any opportunities. Aimar almost scored on a header that went close to the post, but nothing much really. Tévez and Zanetti having a pretty good game. Lucho, I don't know, I never really liked him as a player so I don't rate him highly. Hopefully Messi will get some minutes in the 2nd half.

Edit: Diablo, this is not a copy of your post....I just posted this right after yours...

At any rate we could face Mexico in either the quarter final or the semi-final, we wouldn't meet Brazil until the final.

People on the stands are asking for Messi, let's see what happens i wonder if Abbondanzieri will come back in the second half for that thing on his hand.

I'm having a good surprise with Zanetti because he had poor performances in the past playing on the left, but he's doing it pretty well today, interesting alternative there.

andy, i know it's ok they came out almost at the same time.

Did he play in that position in Banfield?

No but Basile played him in a friendly on the left, i think Pekerman did the same at some point too.

Goal by Mascherano... What a nice little run by Messi on the left, though.

not a fun game to watch as I expected although Messi brought some spark at the end.

It's Paraguay-Mexico and Peru-Argentina now

Paraguay was strong in defense but lacked ideas in attack. Good to see that our guys can find ways to break into defenses so far. Mascherano definitely is close to be the player of the cup in my opinion nice goal from someone that doesn't score often. Nice play by Messi, with Tevez and Aimar they made a nice combination, good match of Zanetti and the defense in general who didn't have many worries. Tevez once again showed his fighting spirit to hold the ball against the defenders good job by him too bad he couldn't score.

He got practice there at Inter this season. He also play as defensive midfielder a few times, he wasn't that good in the new positions at first but then he became solid.

Ah that explains this improvement, because he didn't really add much in the national team when didn't play as right back or even as a right midfielder, which he has done a lot in the past.

Than God we avoid Argentina, pretty even the Mexico-Paraguay difficult to predict

I guess we dodged Argentina. But the way Paraguay played, it makes not seem all that good. Their defense was solid all game. Argentina got close a few times, but for the most part Paraguay did well considering they're really dangerous offensively.

Mexico vs. Paraguay should be a good game; very even. But if Mexico plays like against Brazil, I'm confident that this game can be won. We'll see.
