Right, i'm currently in my fourth season with Sheffield United after three pretty decent seasons considering (finishes of 6th, 8th and 8th). And due to the board's reluctance to give me the wage budget to get decent striker in (despite having the transfer money - Huntelaar available from Palermo for £7mil, but wanting double the wages the board'll allow me to offer), i can't seem to get any of my strikers to actually play consistently well. And 90% of chances i get (through a pretty decent midfield) are completely wasted.

I'm surprised that Luiz Adriano isn't any good. He looks like he should be banging them in.

he always seems to make fantastic opportunities by getting clear of defenders then he'll just punt it over the bar Johnny Wilkinson stylee. He was my top scorer in the league last year with an immense... 5 goals :|

I got Giovinco in my Newcastle game in the first season, and so far he's scored 7 goals in 25 matches, has been pretty average for me. Got him for 1mil (value is up to 1.7mil as of Feb 07), hopefully he'll develop like he did for you, so far only the stats for long shots (16) and long throws (15) are better than in the screenshot you posted.

Try getting Kerzhakov if possible

i got him for £180k in first season (H) I usually play him as an AM and he hasn't been spectacular at all yet - even with a consistent run in the first team, but he hasn't been bad either. I'm hoping he's going to become truly world class eventually...

fender - Kerzhakov is currently playing for United Reserves, though his stats dont really look any better than what i've got at the moment, though i could get him pretty cheap and my scouts say he'd be a "quality signing" so i'm tempted when it comes to the Jan transfer window.

Meh Daz, I didn't bother negociating since Liverpool was after him too. Also, I paid huge money for Gomez but he's worth it so far. Giovinco has an average rating of 6.78 and only delivered 3 assists. :( Hoping that he's just getting used to England this season. :p

Have you tried Dawid Jancyk? I doubt his (or anyone's) stats are much better than who you've got, but he's a pretty good player. One of those strikers who dribbles around 10 guys on his way to the Goal of the Season. Gyan Asamoah is another good choice. I usually look for guys with pace, acceleration, finishing, jumping, heading, and then maybe dribbling. If they have that they should be good no matter what, but that Adriano kid looks good, I'm shocked he can't score.

Asamoah definately looks like a good option, slightly out of my price range at the moment but he's my first choice :p

I have salihi in my napoli game, but he's got like plus 1 in every single skill. Not great striker, works good as a winger tho

You need to make it far in the Champions League. That's were all the money is. I remember my 4th season in the Prem with West Brom when I finally made it to the CL and then advanced to the final (****in Chelsea). It took me from breaking even/a few mill profit every year, to making like 50M profit in one season.

make sure you keep Millan...I have him in my Lazio team and he's pretty badass...24 right now

Nicollás Millan is amazing in my game, last season he scored like 30 goals in 35 games or something like that, and this season it's about 20 goals, 20 games.

But most important make shure you give him some time tho, like getting him playing 8 games straight as a starter, giving 1/2 games one time or another won't help you.

Millan isn't as good as Asamoah or Carlos Javier Acuna in my game, and it's 2011.

i play Milian as a striker.

Aguero has been a huge star when I bought him for liverpool in the second or third season, but I think his potential is slightly different game to game. Great scorer/passer.

Yeah i had him in one game and he was pure awesome.

Finished 8th in the league (again), reached the FA Cup final last season and lost 1-0 to Man Utd, but also gave me a UEFA Cup spot (Y)

Garay is world class. Had him in my Napoli game. Best defender in serie A award 4 time in a row from the 1st season i played there.

well you should try and swap Aguero and Millan in that tactic, just to see if it'd work out...

unless i retrain him, Millan has no rating for playing AMC at all, whereas Aguero is natural there and does have some kind of rating for AMR...

Nicollas Millán best position is definitely a striker, he has a powerful shot, he's great with free kicks and great header also, not that fast to be a winger...

Dude your tactic dosen't look that good. Its way too centralized. Move those AMCs to the wings and having a 1CM and 1DM is not that usefull unless theres other players close by. (example: RM and LM or another CM )Yeah that tactic just dosen't look like its going to work. Go for a 4-5-1.

not if you play 'through the middle'...with the kind of players Daz has at his command shouldn't be a hard job

Yea i'm gona have to agree with Fili on this one, looking at my squad my strength is all through the middle, so playing centralised works well - been using this tactic for the first 7-8 games of the season and is working great. With attacking full backs in Baines and Taylor who providing the width when needed and Haestad covering when they go forward, i've still got options out wide. Even with the option of pulling Millan and Walcott out as AMR and AML.

It's the first tactic i've made myself that isn't focused so much on wingers, so i'm pleased its working :)
