Anyone has any idea about the line-ups?
The clashes of Brazil and Uruguay historically have been a cruel carnage, literally, no matter who plays for each side they always seem to be even lately, so i think that they will draw 1-1 and the finalist will be decided on penalties again.
Jaouadinho 11-07-2007, 12:44:AM what time is kick off in uk time?
1-1 brazil win on penalties.
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 01:06:AM Is the United Kingdom currently in GMT or do they have those daylight saving time things? If they are in GMT then it'll be at 12:50am, at any rate 45 minutes left for the kick-off.
MaestroZidane 11-07-2007, 01:15:AM Brazil will win this in regular time.
I hope the stream works well because in the previous games it has had audio problems.

Lennon 11-07-2007, 01:33:AM south american classic, can't wait for this game to start
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:02:AM Maicon 1-0
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 02:03:AM Brazil scored, 1-0, Maicon.
Uruguay central backs were null there, Carimi couldn't hold Mineiro's shot.
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 02:04:AM There seems to be a blackout in a section of the stadium...
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:04:AM yeah, one of the illumination towers just went off :nape:
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:16:AM looks like we're good to go
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:30:AM huge save by Doni
Lennon 11-07-2007, 02:37:AM what a beautiful passing play by Brazil...it looked like a penalty
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:38:AM Forlan 1-1 (H)!
that was a weak punch by Doni...
Lennon 11-07-2007, 02:38:AM gol de uruguay
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:43:AM Baptista makes it 2-1!
what a great match so far, both teams having no problems to go forward
big al 11-07-2007, 02:43:AM hahaha el chino recoba had to throw 8 freekicks so uruguay could get a goal. brazil only one lol
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 02:49:AM Recoba is doing pretty well tonight, he had a couple of runs forward and all :brow:
juventusita 11-07-2007, 02:51:AM why was there like 14 minutes of extra time?
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 02:52:AM Pretty even match with Brazil having most of the possesion, though, Uruguay had some chances too but their defense is very dodgy today, and i think Carini had some fault in the second goal.
Because of the blackout, the game was stopped around 13 or 14 minutes.
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 03:30:AM 2-2 Abreu!!
great play on the left flank
big al 11-07-2007, 03:31:AM hahaha uruguiay makes goals out of nothing, doni was the one that puut that ball in
Sporting88 11-07-2007, 03:33:AM 2-2 :)
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 03:33:AM Ok both defenses where shaky in their own ways, even though Brazil had more chances in this second half i think the draw is fine.
Why did Recoba get subbed?
big al 11-07-2007, 03:33:AM injury
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 03:34:AM probably physical problems, we was having a nice game.
big al the play for the goal was very good so I wouldn't call it out of nothing.
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 03:53:AM so we're going to penalties (H)
exciting match, with both teams having good moments of football.
excellent game by Cristian Rodriguez, and Fucile was also great.
hopefully he'll score a penalty :amika:
Vamos Uruguay :$
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 03:53:AM Okay, full time now to penalties. Let's see what happens now.
Sporting88 11-07-2007, 03:58:AM nice its been a while since i saw a pk shootout :P
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 04:01:AM Forlan misses for Uruguay :nape:

Sporting88 11-07-2007, 04:08:AM lol tried to copy postiga in euro 2004 :p

dude this is the best shootout ever :P
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 04:11:AM Lugano wtf was that :|
Brazil are through, congrats to them.
litle brawl in the end, but it's all good.
both teams deserved to go through, the pks really are unpredictable.
Sporting88 11-07-2007, 04:12:AM no wayy man doni was way off the line
big al 11-07-2007, 04:12:AM wtffffff , that penaldy should be rekick
Thelonious 11-07-2007, 04:13:AM wtf happening, Doni was way off his line
Shame for Uruguay, but Brasil always with the same luck
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 04:14:AM They are complaining about Doni in the last penalty going forward. But didn't that happen in all the other penalties? Except that in the last one he was more out off the line than the others i think.
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 04:14:AM even if he had been on the line, the ball would've hit him.
it should have been repeated though
Thelonious 11-07-2007, 04:15:AM It was a shocking decision, Doni couldn't have been more blatent.
fender 11-07-2007, 04:16:AM Bull**** Doni was way off his line.
MaestroZidane 11-07-2007, 04:17:AM what a game and the penalties were even greater. That last kick should have been retaken, but like the announcer said, its been a while since that rule has been enforced. Congrats to brazil.
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 04:18:AM But it's over now, Brazil to the final waits for the winner of Mexico and Argentina. Uruguay waits for the loser for the third position match. Overall i think the draw was fine and someone still had to go through so the penalties decided(did they really?) who goes to the final.
big al 11-07-2007, 04:18:AM cool , so we have a brazil vs mexico final
MaSsiVe 11-07-2007, 04:19:AM I'm putting my money in Argentina...well, not literally.
MaestroZidane 11-07-2007, 04:20:AM i think you wrote that wrong Big al, its A-R-G-E-N-T-I-N-A v Brazil ;):p(H)
Edit: Damn, :(.. I was distracted. but now its fixed
big al 11-07-2007, 04:22:AM i think you wrote that wrong Big al, its A-R-G-E-N-T-I-N-A v Barzil ;):p(H)
lol (N)
btw who tha hell is barzil, hehehe
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 04:23:AM i think you wrote that wrong Big al, its A-R-G-E-N-T-I-N-A v Barzil ;):p(H)
In reality it'll be Brazil vs. Argentina, because Brazil was the first finalist.:p
Mean while the third position match will be Uruguay vs. Mexico.:p
big al 11-07-2007, 04:24:AM on all seriuosness , it will be cool to have brazil vs argentina, but iwas born in brazil and live my hole life in mexico , so thats my reasons. ;)
Ruben Sosa 11-07-2007, 04:27:AM Screw Doni being off his line, if Garcia scored with his kick the game would of finished. Lugano's effort was **** anyway, and I want to scalp Forlan for his shot.
Meh, **** it, it's not like this is the first time we **** our pants at penalty kicks. I think I might be getting used to it. :nape:
big al 11-07-2007, 04:28:AM Screw Doni being off his line, if Garcia scored with his kick the game would of finished. Lugano's effort was ****, and I want to scalp Forlan for his shot.
Meh, **** it, it's not like this is the first time we **** our pants at penalty kicks. I think I might be getting used to it. :nape:
and your getting better at it hehehe :D
Mauricio 11-07-2007, 04:29:AM Man, I wanted Uruguay to win this, they showed a lot of huevos, i think the last PK wasnt valid, i dont care if no ref. is brave enough to apply this rule, but a rule is a rule until FIFA decides to change it, so yeah i think the ref was a COWARD and we cant justify him or describe that action in any other way.
Congrats to Brasil BTW
Ruben Sosa 11-07-2007, 04:30:AM and your getting better at it hehehe :D
Shut up you, I'm still pissed.
big al 11-07-2007, 04:32:AM Shut up you, I'm still pissed.
hehehe , you know i had to give it a try :D , but you know i was kidding mate. ;)
El Diablo Rojo 11-07-2007, 04:35:AM Evidently the CONMEBOL has a lot to do on the linesmen matter, and while they are at it tell the referees that the rules in the Copa América are no different from the World Cup, the majority seem to have forgotten about the "reccomendations" that they were given, i do wonder why the hell there's a linesman that stands in the line if they don't do anything. Of course along with the stupid idea of putting referees from different countries mixed, unlike in the world cup were most of the matches the referee and the 2 linesmen at least were from the same place.
Thar GK clearly cheated...:nape:
Mauricio 11-07-2007, 04:49:AM Meh, **** it, it's not like this is the first time we **** our pants at penalty kicks. I think I might be getting used to it. :nape:
Join the club :(
A Brasi vs Mexico would be nice, u know for a change ,some fresh air wouldnt be?
camilo_marin21 11-07-2007, 05:28:AM that last penalty reminded me of the 2003 champions league final where dida was also way off his line
yoyo913 11-07-2007, 06:15:AM that last penalty reminded me of the 2003 champions league final where dida was also way off his line
I think you mean Dudek
AxelFoley 11-07-2007, 07:53:AM This hurt so much, really. I was so sure Pablito was going to seal the deal with his penalty, but noooooooo of course not. So typical.
Then there's Doni. Bastardo!
Axolote 11-07-2007, 01:47:PM F*ck...i wanted Uruguay in the finals...
They died with their boots on...
If Recoba didn't got injured...
teccomin 12-07-2007, 01:03:AM I think you mean Dudek
no dudek was 2005
teccomin 12-07-2007, 01:07:AM whats the goalkeeper off the line rule? i always thought when the kicker starts his run, the goalkeeper can go off his line?
Callum 12-07-2007, 01:15:AM gk has to stay on the line till the ball is kicked.
El Diablo Rojo 12-07-2007, 01:16:AM I think the keeper is allowed to go 1 or 2 steps forward but no more than that. But then again i am not sure.
Gene Reginato 12-07-2007, 01:51:AM I think the keeper is allowed to go 1 or 2 steps forward but no more than that. But then again i am not sure.
That's correct. The problem is that it's very hard to implement. In Brazil, there was a time last year when every pk was retaken because the referee wanted to show off, regardless of how and when the goalkeeper moved.
