View Full Version : Who's Rodrigo Palacio? mcq 15-07-2007, 09:57:PM plays for boca juniors, hes been linked with arsenal, reports suggest a 15 million euro deal has been agreed, is he any good? 1966+2006 15-07-2007, 09:59:PM Who cares? Seán D 15-07-2007, 10:05:PM alright in FM - thats about all i know teccomin 15-07-2007, 10:53:PM a wannabe jedi Mauricio 15-07-2007, 10:58:PM He is good, but very overated, he would fit great in amid table team but not in Arsenal RuiCosta_10 15-07-2007, 11:00:PM a wannabe jedi haha (H) yoyo913 15-07-2007, 11:09:PM Apparently very fast, has 20 for pace in FM (H). Bobby 16-07-2007, 01:01:AM He's owned by three teams, this is what caused the bottom to fall out of a deal with Barca, they had a fee set up with Boca & apperently Banfield, but Huracan told them to **** off with it. One of these dodgy contracts they have in Argentina. He's pretty good, former basketball player if it's worth noting. tracertong 16-07-2007, 01:25:AM http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007320774,00.html Filipower 16-07-2007, 01:34:AM a player who will never be nearly as good as Klaas. minted00 16-07-2007, 01:48:AM all you had to say its that boca player with the stupid little ponytail, and i would have known exactly who you meant. yoyo913 16-07-2007, 02:04:AM He always gets his ponytail pulled by an opposing player whenever his team is winning. PaPaGeorGeo 16-07-2007, 08:28:AM I dont see him coming, well at least not wearing the number 14. Wenger wouldnt give him the pressure and the expectation that would come with wearing the number 14 just after Henry left. Fernandez 16-07-2007, 12:28:PM I thought you guys want to retire the number 14. solaimaa 16-07-2007, 01:17:PM I dont see him coming neither do i, it's much more likely that wenger will spend $20mil on a 12 year old french schoolboy and say, "in 5 years, he will be the next henry" hahahaha :funny::rofl: Axolote 16-07-2007, 02:09:PM Very fast, cant score goals... Overrated... Bobby 16-07-2007, 07:52:PM I thought you guys want to retire the number 14. We didn't retire 6, 7, or 10. Very fast, cant score goals... Overrated... Bit like Reyes then. El Diablo Rojo 16-07-2007, 11:35:PM Would be pretty unfair for the football world, playing in Arsenal when he should be fighting to earn a spot in a Serie B club. He isn't worth 1/3 of that. Lean 17-07-2007, 12:19:AM Dont think he's that overrated. Maybe a bit, but he seems like a very good player to me, even though our Brazilian club teams make some Argentinian fellas look like Pele at times. Maybe that's the reason he seems very good? Hehe. El Diablo Rojo 17-07-2007, 12:27:AM If you are talking about Grêmio, the truth is that he didn't do anything against them in the two matches. Still for that amount of money they could've got someone better. Lean 17-07-2007, 12:31:AM No, São Paulo to be fair. In the Recopa last year Palácio scored 3 or 4 in 2 matches against them. SlowHand 17-07-2007, 12:45:AM Very fast, cant score goals... Overrated... i agree... and i'm a boca fan El Diablo Rojo 17-07-2007, 01:01:AM INSANE! I just heard that Arsenal offered 22m€ for him, and Boca will more likely accept. I mean that's a very excessive amount. Talk about overpaid. I think they will have to break it soon. http://www.subsidesports.com/uk/images/product/xlarge/ArsPiggyBank0708.jpg Bobby 17-07-2007, 03:05:AM It's stuffed in a ragged, stained mattress in Pat Rice's basement, not a piggy bank. Mauricio 17-07-2007, 03:19:AM Man i thikn Nery Castillo is a far better player and worths that kind of money, at least he is proven in Champions League adn is younger, i think. The big diference is that Palacio was born in Argentina and Castillo in Mexico, there still ni credibility in Mexican players to pay that kind of money BTW this summer is getting insane with all those ridiculous offers of money for player made by big clubs, thats not good for the game Bobby 17-07-2007, 03:42:AM Man i thikn Nery Castillo is a far better player and worths that kind of money, at least he is proven in Champions League adn is younger, i think. The big diference is that Palacio was born in Argentina and Castillo in Mexico, there still ni credibility in Mexican players to pay that kind of money BTW this summer is getting insane with all those ridiculous offers of money for player made by big clubs, thats not good for the game We have a Mexican in our squad, Vela. Mauricio 17-07-2007, 03:46:AM Yeah but thats very uncommon, and im talkin in general, still i dont think Arsenal would offer 20 mill for a mexican Bobby 17-07-2007, 03:55:AM I agree, I'm actually shocked we offered it for anyone considering our record fee is 12.5m (GBP) for Wiltord. The thing with Mexican footballers is that the top, top guys are usually really happy in Mexico. The play is good quality, they get paid well, and they don't need to adjust to a new culture (which is what bothered Borgetti, he hated the food and weather). Mauricio 17-07-2007, 04:08:AM Yeha but im sure if a club offers good money like they did with Gago,Hugian and now Palacio, it would be stupid if they rejected a 20 mil offer plus a juicy contract, i mean common Guardado just signed for Deportivo for only 7 million, any Argentinean or Brazilian with his talent wouldnt leave with less of 15 mill, and madrid offered for him 500,000 a year ago comon thats a joke!!!. Europeans clubs dont risk their money with mexicans ShAnDo 17-07-2007, 04:41:AM Very fast, cant score goals... Overrated... I second that... Axolote 17-07-2007, 05:12:AM Apparently it was all a hoax... With that money you can buy Etoo... El Diablo Rojo 17-07-2007, 05:35:AM The big diference is that Palacio was born in Argentina and Castillo in Mexico, there still ni credibility in Mexican players to pay that kind of money Also have in mind, the place that Olympiakos took in the Champions League compared with the place that Boca took in the Libertadores, not to mention in the domestic stage. So was it a hoax? Good for Arsenal they almost made the biggest waste of money ever. PaPaGeorGeo 17-07-2007, 08:47:AM Yeh some guy with a blog made it up and it got into the sun :D Bobby 17-07-2007, 09:35:AM Also have in mind, the place that Olympiakos took in the Champions League compared with the place that Boca took in the Libertadores, not to mention in the domestic stage. So was it a hoax? Good for Arsenal they almost made the biggest waste of money ever. No, we did that when we bought Jeffers. Thelonious 17-07-2007, 09:59:AM Yeh some guy with a blog made it up and it got into the sun :D The fact that only the Sun and Tribal Football carried it was a bit of a give away, lol. |
