Now with scholes and owen unfit, why isnt he in the team tonight? well thats as much of a puzzle as why David james is 'in' the team, until a manager decides who the best 11 players are and has a few back ups for injuries, then we will never have a settled side who know how to play with each other.

Jack Charltons success with the Republic of Ireland is that he didn't have that many players to choose from and played a system and a team reguarly that all knew each other and how to play their system, England need to be more like a club team, you cannot try every single Englishman in the country to see who does well or not, that is where we have gone wrong so many times before.

Hopefully Mr Erikson will do better when he takes over, than the Graham taylors, howard wilkinsons and the rest who have gone before and made such a hash of it.
