It wasn't. He clearly won the ball first, Gerrard just continued to run into him - then he started moaning to the ref.

I think he did. Petrov knocked it into the path of Reo Coker, Gerrard wouldn't have made anything from it. Petrov couldn't get out the way, but Gerrard probably could have done.

The very reason why Gerrard stopped was because he wasn't going to retain possession because Petrov had flicked it away and kind of into the path of another Villa player... which was kind of the whle point of the challenge.

Anyway, great to be back. I even found the Sunderland v Spurs game fun to watch... there's so much less bullsh*t that goes on in most Prem game... great to see players just get on with it.
