I need so desperately help here...
I bought the retail european version of the game and installed it. Everything seems fine, but when I start to play, the game either just freezes and the commentary goes Ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga, or the game just crashes me back to Windows. Any of you guys have a solution?

If you have Windows 2000 or ME you will expierience these problems. At this point there is nothing you can do other than trying to use it on windows 98.

Or your video card is not supported. If this is the case you can download some patches for this problem.

Actually, I am running it at Windows 98.
I don't know about my video card, though.. the chipset, Banshee, is supported but maybe not the "rest" of the card (????!!!).
Where can one find those patches?

not sure but check the official fifa2001 website. ( www.fifa2000.com (http://www.fifa2000.com) )Check there.

Nothing to find there, are there some other sites where you can find patches ?

Click Start menu.
Go to run
type in DXDIAG
Go to the sound tap and test your sound card.
If it works there, i dun see any reason why it should work in fifa 2001. Try getting newer drivers for the sound card?

How do you do that, then?

go to display properties
go settings tap
go advanced...(bottom)
go to ur graphic's card name(TNT, Geforce...etc)
Go Additional properties
Go Direct3d.....THERE!

It's an ELSA Victory II card with a 3DFX Voodoo Banshee chipset with 16 mb videoram.

well...... u have to ask the experts from http://zoiah.m3dzone.com or try "playing" with the settings of the graphics card.
Many guys here couldn't get in the game because they did not enable fog emulation. im not sure about ur card.

Actually, it isn't the sound that is the problem, the game just crashes me back to my desktop, or just freezes! I can't get to play this great game! The game crashes the moment it's about to load the match.. can anybody help here?

u sure u enabled FOG EMULATION TABLE in Driect3d?
