That's good news. I think one of the biggest problems with FIFA 07 and UEFA was the poor player switching system...switches happened far too slowly and it seemed like you always got switched to every player except the one that made the most sense.

Being able to take control of the keeper on free kicks is fantastic also. Now I just hope they've done something about players not running towards incoming passes, and your guys being stuck on a line when running after through balls.

I am 21 and i hate PES games from 10. I always hate the unrealistic style the players running, i didn't bought PES(or ISS) even on 2001 when FIFA(I have to admitt) was crap. Do you believe i will try CRAPPY PES NOW when the best FIFA its out.

I've played both already in germany! And I am telling them the feeling that I got off both games, and Fifa is a bit of a letdown, when it comes to feeling you've achieved something, the manual pass system is still not as good as it could be, it doesn't feel 100% manual.

Visuals of both are about equal on the PS3 but PES have really pulled it out of the hat in terms of AI, every player makes the move to recieve your pass as you'd want it playing a footie game, FIFA makes a run then stops half way through. weird! Could have changed it by now!

It all boils down to i've played and they haven't, but with their blinkered view about FIFA they won't accept any criticism towards it ever, I bet they even loved FIFA 2004 to bits.

How they can make judgements when they say they haven't played a pes game for years is beyond me, there just idiots.

To be honest mate, I think FIFA's ball physics look okay actually.

Winning Eleven 9 was my favorite footy game of all time but after that there was no improvement, and compared to UEFA CL, players move, march like robots, all choppy animations, HORRID audio, bad presentation, disgusting graphics for a "next gen: game, lack of licensing and innovation. Konami has rested on their laurels. And recently I saw a trailer for the PES 2008 next gen and it looked the same, grfx were the same, the Konami name blasted everywhere on the field (I'm surprised they didn't have Konami written inside of Konami), etc, etc. and I compare that PES to this Fifa....no comparison! This is the year Fifa really pulls away from PES. Fifas physics are absolutely superior

What's so silly here is we get all these great video's of what does look to be a fab FIFA 08 next-gen and then some twit comes in and starts mouthing off without any real critique or intellectual ability and just goes on about that other game! This thread is all about the love for FIFA 08 next gen, that of which I have this to say on the multimedia footage;

*ball physics are great, most realistic I have seen to date in FIFA or any other football game from Ea, codemaster, konami, anything.

*Skill moves are crazy cool, looking natural. EA have the right idea, only best players' do best moves and rainbow flick is 2 sep' moves to execute properly or you mess it up. Very clever.

*Ai looks challenging, realistic. Looks like a game of football!

Can't wait to try this out.

My only fear......I'll end up owning world class AI after a few weeks. Please god no!!!

I wonder if EA figured out during the design phase this year that there are fouls in a football game. The lack of fouls in the FIFA series has been unacceptable. We've all played games over the years that had 1 or maybe 2 fouls.

I'm also wondering if they figured out how to program a TACTICAL sub. Not the scripted CPU sub that comes in between the 55-65 minute mark of every game. How about getting the CPU to use all of their subs too. That happens in real football matches folks.
