Ok, so i installed the demo, and when i click on Easetup.exe when it tries to download it says "Windows Installer Services could not be accessed".
When i try to click on the game, the screen goes black and turns into the 600x400 screen and i think its gonna go to the game, but it goes black and to the desktop about 3 times then stops! What the hell is the problem.
BTW- i have Vista, and please dont tell me it doesnt work on vista:(
I also have Nvidia GeForce 7600 card, but i think that works.

first thing to try would be to make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

Must be a problem with your graphics card, download the demo expander and set it to lower graphics, then start the game

Which os are you running on, cause it may have problems with vista, try the Right click/properties/compatibility/run this program in compatibility mode for win 98 or xp

My PC @ work has no graphics card but will run '07 (don't ask what I'm doing with Fifa @ work :D ) but '08 won't load either. No such worries for my modest Radeon 9250 at home, though. My best guess would be an unsupported chipset/driver combination.

I know that both my graphics cards aren't supposed to work with fifa08 but at least it should show something no freeze at starting and what make me say that is that i can play fifa07 in both of my machine and it works very good and very smooth and i saw that there is no huge graphical difference between it and fifa08

FIFA 08 dont work with ge force 4 mx series video drivers....

i got the same prob.....a blank screen after opening the demo....

since 07 & 08 r on the same game engine....i placed the 07 Demo exe in FIFA 08 folder & ran it...the demo starts fine ...the lang selection...then ea sports logo...then the logos of all leagues ...but it exits before displaying the menu.

I hope this would help somebody to find out what is wrong with the demo....waiting for a solution..

Already multiple threads on the subject. Look around before you post. Mods could you combine all the threads so that eveyones ideas are in the same place and if a solution comes along we won't have to search for it. Please. i have the demo installed but its lags horribly i set it at lowest res possible and lowest quality possible and in window mode and still horribly laggy. ?(with demo expander).

i have a 3.2 ghz CPU 1Gb ram and a ATI Radeon X1300 video card and windows vista. dont understand how a game with such ****ty graphics cant run on my comp.

ok guys. i think i found something. its called the black screen or blank screen bug and it happens to alot of games including fear, doom, and elder scrolls. now maybe i can find a solution

Memory space is not the problem, I have tons of space on my hardrive but I still get the black screen. Im almost positive the problem resides in my graphics card: nvidia gforce2 mx 200, but there should also be a way to by pass this bug. Ea games is realy pissing me off!!!!!

I got the same problem, it can't be my computer because it ran perfectly FIFA07 y I recently reinstall Windows and everything, so it's like new and everything it's updated, so waht can it be??????????

Well the thread is now for 'Fifa 08 Demo troubles' so a bug qualifies. The major problem that needs attention for most of the guys here is that they can't even load the demo.

I have a geforce 6800 and have downloaded the demo twice but just get a black screen then it bums out. Can anyone who has got the demo to work after this problem or anyone who has the same card as mine please post any help? I play pes 6 but would like to see what fifa have to offer. I have the same problem, Black screen at start. It must definitely be an incompatibility. I will post my relevant specs so that we can maybe pick up on a pattern.

well, has anyone tried to download it again in the past few days. i read on yahoo that we might have been the unlucky ones to get the one with a bug and fifa had been trying to fix it sice they found out. idk if its true though.

I downloaded it from a website and installed it on my computer. Worked fine. I took the exact same downloaded .exe and put it on my laptop which ran FIFA 07 fine, among other EA Sports games. After installation, I had the same black screen you guys are talking about, so I don't think it's the download.

Your videocards are old. Change them. It worked with me :)

NVidia GeForce 8800 GTX is old ????? I don't know for sure, but I think it is the newest chip on the market. The problem is most definitely not the chipset. it is something else.

Hello, i have a problem with the keyboard, problem which appears at Fifa 07 and the demo 08. When i enter into the game the keyboard works, i play a game, and when i go back to the menu and try to play the second game the keyboard doesn't work anymore. I have to press alt-tab to go to the desktop and then reenter into the game for the keyboard to work. And this problem repeats from time to time. And recently i've noticed that the same problem i have it with the mouse in GTA San Andreas. I have to say that this problem appeared after i've bought a new PC, which is greater then the old one. I have now Intel Pentium 4 3.20 Ghz, 1 Gb of RAM, Ati Radeon X1550 series, 200 Gb, Windows Xp SP 2. I've made all the settings in the games with the keyboard and also i've tried 3 different keyboards but the problem still exists. Can someone please tell what's the problem? Thank you in advance.

Are you using Demo Expander or Demo Raptor?
If so don't cause that's what caused the same problem with me, uninstalled the demo and reinstalled again and then it was fine :)

yes its becose of the demo expander becose i uninstalled fifa08 and reinstalled it and it worked but I wanted to change the graphics again with the demo expander and I got back again the same problem.

I have a Geforce 4 MX440 and i was able to play fifa 07 with no problems, although I noticed the graphics were not quite upto scratch as on the ps2 etc, however were still very good. It is stated that the MX series are not supported for either 07 nor 08. So believe it should still work, I hope i can run the full version of fifa 08 and that this is an error with the demo.

Mx series does not work for Fifa 08 I have tired many times and only gotten the black screen, I even updated my drivers and it made no difference. We can only hope that someone will make a patch that will help us bypass this issue. Untill then all I can say is play fifa 07 or buy a better graphics card.
