Am I the only one out there that is experiencing HUGE problems with the ingame menu? its so SLOW and laggy, sometimes you press the button and it doesnt register at all.

I thought EA would've fixed this when it occured in FIFA 07, cant believe they didnt even bother to fix it properly. Not amused!

My setup is:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
2gb OCZ Platinum RAM
GeForce 7950 GT 512mb RAM

I dont believe its an issue with my actual PC.

Anyone have a fix for it? I've tried lowering the resolution to 1024x768 and quality of Medium but it makes no difference.

Thanks

I'm with you brother... I have the same issues with a high spec machine. Are you on Vista? I heard Vista may cause some problems...

EA is crap! You would think that the newer the machine the better your game will flow and look but no! Completely the opposite! How dreadful! Well, hopefully this year will be the last for the FIFA series as it look like Konami is slowly but surely edging closer to winning the battle.

I've had the same problem, but it was resolved by uninstalling the latest Nvidia drivers lol and install and older one, i play with a 8800 GTS and my driver is 163.44 and everything is fine now.

I have same problem. I am running Vista home premium on this spec:

Intel Dual Core 1.66
2 GB Ram
GeForce 8500 GT 256mb

I think this is a Vista issue

I also switched to the nVidia 163.44 drivers and the menu problem was gone.

I'm glad to he that's the fix for some, but us idiots who "Upgraded" to Vista are still stuck. What a pain.

Hello,

FIFA 2008 is really slow in my laptop. The in game menu and the actual game it self is really slow. I have Dell Vostro 1500, Windows Vista Business Edition, 1.8GHZ, 120 GB hard Disk, 2 GB RAM, 128MB NVIDIA 8400M GS graphics card.

I have seen in forums where some say its due to Vista while some say its due to the graphics driver.

Any solution or suggestion would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Karthik

Right click "Driver" and save. Right click "Modded INF" and save. Move and replace the "Modded INF" into the "Driver" that you have extracted after finish downloading.. Follow by the "Quickstart Guide" there. Hope it helps =)

I'm using 167.26 now, works perfect. Though others have problems using it. Good luck, friends.

Hello,

Thanks for the information. I did follow the steps and installed the driver. The slowness in the menu has been rectified. But the ingame part is still slow. Do you think I should install the driver you have. Or do you have any other suggestions for this.

Thanks,
Karthik

You need to disable either Speedstep (for Intel processors) or Cool'n'Quiet/PowerNow (for AMD). If you have an Intel processor then you should be able to find all the wisdom you need in Bay Wolf's Speedstep FAQ (http://www.bay-wolf.com/speedstep.htm) but I've never been able to find a similar page for the AMD technologies.

Basically you may be able to achieve the effect you desire by tweaking the Power Management settings but my suggestion would be to disable the feature in your BIOS to prove that it is actually CPU throttling that is causing your problems. If you decide you don't want it disabled permanently then you can enable it again and tweak the power settings until you get the desired behaviour.

Hi karthikravi, you can try the latest driver

Try to turn off the "Vertical Sync" in your Nvidia Control Panel if you still encounter the low frame rate problem. Good luck.
