I would like to backup my fifa 2001 cd. it's scratched but it runs. however, i fear the cd's days are limited.

the problem is whenever i try to copy it, an error occurs. can anyone help? is there anything i can do to backup my cd.

i contacted Ea Sports and they said there's nothing that can be done besides buying a new copy. That's absurd! no one's going to buy the same game twice.

can anyone help me copy my cd? i have my product in case no one here believes that i own a genuine copy.

thanks for any help.

The reason is that this game, like most made these days, are copy protected. There are bits of useless data put in the game by the developer that produce errors, all in an attempt to stop people from burning the game illegally. My advice is to try CDRWIN, by Golden Hawk Technologies. It has worked for all games I've tried so far, and is the only program I use for Playstation games. Make sure you set Error Correction to Ignore. Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Geoff

The best program is clone cd though. It can 'clone' any CD!

But you'll need a burner which can read subchannel data first, or it won't work.
