I'm having some problems running FIFA 08 in anything other than 800x600. Every time I select something else, it flashes the screen and defaults back to 800x600.

I'm running a EVGA Nvidia 8800GTS 640MB on a 24" LG 246WB monitor.

Is there any way to force the resolution from the command line?

there is a solution to your problem, there a software called refresh force or something like that that allows you to force your refresh rate and resolution you just got to google it to find it. I cant remember the exact name. Try nvidia forums.

Can you get aero glass in windows.. and what rating does Vista give your graphics rating.

Although many are dismissive of the Windows Experience Index score, getting a low score will actually cause vista to switch OFF certain features because it thinks your graphics card is a lower grade one.

What you need to do is delete your WEI xml data and run a new rating assessment, it will detect your card and assign you the 5.9 that card gets(I have the same card!)

The WEI xml file is located in
Windows>Performance>Winsat>data

Delete, reboot and re run the rating assessment. Give it a try ;)

I'd even try a fresh FIFA install after that whole process...Ive found the game locks in system config settings while its installing, and if these change, it somehow doesnt keep track of it properly.

good luck
