Seriously, I decided to post this on a FIFA forum so I could get your version of the things.

I mean, what the hell is the deal with FIFA looking alot better than PES? Why do I read that every-damn-where.
I'm gonna give my opinion on it and I am comparing the PC version of PES to the PS3 version of FIFA, so hence FIFA has an advantage here.

Crowd - looks awful/underworked in both of them really
Nets - FIFA's nets have been ugly and badly done since I can remember FIFA but mostly since 03 edition, they're just unreal. PES have had decent nets and in next gen they look brilliant.
Grass - OK. Grass looks definetly better on FIFA.
Player faces - I'd like to see a single person telling me that FIFA faces look better than PES, because they dont. I makes me sad that I remember FIFA world cup 2002 and they looked awesome, and when I look to a guy in FIFA I have to check his name to figure out who he is. PES have really nice faces, PES have had decent faces since PES2, way better than fifa.
Player Models - While I thikn they're pretty much the same and I like PES ones, I must say that I do like the FIFA models better.

So gameplay and everything else aside why the hell does everyone say that FIFA has better graphics and presentation? (:/)

Seriously dude, you can't compare FIFA graphics with PES, PES is so below standards it's not funny, there are games still on the current gen that have much better graphics than PES on next gen, even though PES looks good IT IS NOT NEXT GEN GRAPHICS, FIFA still has to work out the kinks in the faces to match the game's textures, cloth, sweat animations and such, socks look like socks etc...

No, I agree with all points. I switched to pes when pes 3 came and haven't played fifa since. But this year Fifa is better to me, except those points mentioned in the first post. The best part about pes 2008 IS the net physics, and the player faces, they're amazing. But gameplaywise (which is what's important) Pes has always dominated, except this year.

The gameplay is too fast (pes) and ball physics are bad. So i'd rather have fifa without player-likeness and bad presentation anyday.Strange though since presentation used to be EA's strong side..

FIFA has 3D grass, sweat, cloth physics, realistic textures and so fourth and you think the presentation is not good enough?

LuvPES , you're a comedy. Seriously.

In this post of yours, all that you say is :

PES has awful graphics, because, PES has awful graphics.
or
FIFA has better graphics than PES, because, FIFA has better graphics than PES.

No argument whatsoever, so yea, that's what I call dellusion because, FIFA can have better graphics than PES but you're not even bothered to check which does, you just blindly say FIFA is the best'est'. But the best part is :

FIFA still has to work out the kinks in the faces to match the game's textures, cloth, sweat animations and such, socks look like socks etc...

LOL, that's the way you're excusing the faces? The faces sure look textured to me, they are very detailed, but ehm, they just don't seem to be alike the players. At all. In a video that I saw van Persie, he seemed like an asian guy. I can't distinguish players when at close look unless I see their names on shirt.

*sigh*

And then...

FIFA has 3D grass, sweat, cloth physics, realistic textures and so fourth and you think the presentation is not good enough?

What do you mean by so forth? And wait a second, have you played the game yourself? Because yea, FIFA may have all those things but when I'm playing in the default camera, I can't see 3d grass, nor sweat, nor cloth physics nor realistic textures, just a game that reminds me of FIFA 2003 with slightly better textures, call me blind if you want, but check FIFA 03 screenshots first.

First of I never said, who has better graphics between FIFA and PES because I would never do that, you are putting words in people's mouth and save your "comedy" remark.
I said, PES has below standard graphics for a next gen game, it is pretty much pathetic.
I can call out many sports games like MVP, NBA 2K, Virtual Tennis, Madden, NFL 2K etc...all look better on the regular XBOX than PES looks on the 360, FIFA is displaying next gen graphics and PES isn't.

If PES is going to stick to that graphics engine then they might as well have stayed on the current gen because there is nothing in the PES game that is next gen.

IMO THE best graphics game in all the sports video games is MLB 2K8 next gen, TOTALLY NEXT GEN! FIFA does not come close to it from players liknesses, player models, the lighting etc.....

First of all no game is perfect, I can call out any game and find imperfections, second you people today are hella spoiled, where is this?, where is that?, this game produces over 5,000 players, tons of leagues and about 28 stadiums, more than any other video game of any sports genre and still you gripe and complain.
I too am disappointed with the innaccurate faces, I too am disappointed with no weather effects but these people have packed alot on this CD and had only so much time, but I expect too see these features in the next edition or two.
All you can complain about is what few things they don't have, maybe you should go back to the time when games had no liknesses, accurate licenced kits, lighting etc..

"maybe you should go back to the time when games had no liknesses, accurate licenced kits, lighting etc.."

I just figured since it was 'next'generation, i wouldn't want to go back then... or have to.
Besides, weather effects etc has been a standard for years now. I wouldn't say we're spoiled as you put it, just disappointed with some points of the game. It's not as if we're nitpicking.

PES faces (star players) do resemble their real life counterparts but in a cartoony kind of way. The overall graphics in PES are horrid (relatively speaking, compared to next gen titles). They are of a late PS2 quality. Jaggies everywhere. Fifas crowd may look bad from close but from afar, with the stadium rendering and the lighting effects looks amazing. Ever notice a real game, how from afar, the crowd looks like dots? That's the effect EA was going for in the crowd (from afar). Add to that organic cloth, sweat, player movement. No question which is the professional game and which one looks dated big time. Konami need to get out of the cheesy 80's guitar roock, amateurish presentation and overall dated looks fast because Fifa will only get better. At this pace, give Fifa 2 more years and PES will become so obsolete.
