and what is the difference between the strawbery and the vanilla ?

Strawberry is with graphics and more leagues while vanilla has no extras and only English and Scottish leagues. Strawberry is bigger than vanilla thus takes longer to download.

How is the FM Modifier 2.2 in comparising to the normal FM Editor? Better, easier to use?

I think FMM is a save game editor, you can edit stats from your saved game. The normal FM Editor, is to make changes in the database before starting a game.

Susie has released a real-name fix. This fixes all the fake names and the germany NT etc.. It also adds many real competition names.

I'm having some trouble with FMM = S
when i open the fmm2.2.exe file i get the following error:
FILE ACCESS DENIED.
and when i click ok i get the following error:
ACCESS VIOLATION AT ADDRESS 004BB065 IN MODULE "FMM2.2.exe". WRITE OF ADDRESS 00000040.
and when i click ok it open the program, and when i click load the same error appears = S

could someone please help me, i use windows vista home premium

It's better posting questions about the application on the developers site instead of here tho. All I can suggest is to try xp/2000 compatibility mode, if Vista have such thing as I wont get anywhere near that piece of crap software, so i dont really know :D :(

Ok chaps, for some reason the demo wont install. I dont care cos I can buy the real thing, I'm just worried that my computer isnt up to standard and that I'd be wasting my money. This is really a computer forum question, but Mixafendis will know, how do I check my system stats and make sure they're above the minimum requirements?

My processor is 1.7 and they need 2, and my ram is 220 whilst they need 244. I know I can get more RAM stuck in, can I do anything to raise the 1.7 Ghz thing?

Uh, it doesn't NEED 640MB, I run it with 512 and it's fine, but that's the unpatched version (I've heard the patch slows things down a lot, and I'm waiting for the next one anyway).

Of course, the more RAM you have, the better it is.

A bit late, but I found the pre beta version of the still unreleased FM Genie Scout 2008. It works pretty fine for me.


How to use
Unzip the FM Genie Scout 2008 folder, then run the FMGenieScout.exe file that you will find inside of it. No installation needed.

Current Status
The current version is limited in functionality (beta 2, build 83), and you all know what the word beta means. You are using it at your own risk and that is as beta testers.

Know Issues

Your best bet to get this beta version working
1. Make sure you have FM08 and not WWSM08
2. Make sure you disable "Compress Saved Games" within the Game Preferences and Confirm it
3. Install latest official Patch 8.0.1 (and not one of the beta patches) [after that, you should have version 8.0.1 114310]
4. Start a new game with Patch 8.0.1
5. Save your game and Load it in FM Genie Scout 2008

Why you have this download and not genie.fm?
The file might have been leaked through the official SI forums, but it was Eugene himself, who uploaded the file online, in the known download folder of FM Genie Scout 2007. And of course, FM addicts were spying on this, until recently unprotected, folder all the time. The file was already available from Rapidshare (and still is) before we added it here.
You won't find it on the official Genie site, until all critical errors get fixed first and a new more stable beta will get out.

Compatibility
- This version seemed to be compatible with latest patch 8.0.1 (8.0.1.114310) and new games with the patch update. This means it wouldn't work with 8.0.0 or 8.0.1 for a game started in 8.0.0. However, some users reported that it worked for their 8.0.0 save game.
- Compatible with Windows Vista. However, Vista users should right click the downloaded FMGenieScout.exe file and run as Administrator, as well as running FM2008 as Administrator (otherwise Genie Scout won't be able to access the protected memory area of FM2008 - that's the way that viruses/trojans traditionally install themselves into other programs on your computer).
In addition, Vista users should also turn off User Access Control (UAC - Google "Turn off UAC" if not sure) if they are still having problems.

I'm in February 2008 and still works fine. But you have to deselect the compress save game function in order for it to work.

board confidence not fixed, great... oh well, I was never too much into FM careers anyway.... I just hope it doesn't affect SG Utd greatly...

Yeah what's wrong with the confidence? Good addition to FM08 in my opinion, seems to work well.

If it worked, it'd be a great addition. My main concern with it, as I rarely play lower league clubs, is the board expecting you to reach cup finals as Liverpool. It doesn't seem to matter if we were knocked out by Arsenal after penalties in the League Cup playing with youngsters, the board will be quite annoyed, and won't even remember a CL win... Or signing youngsters, then having them come on at the 80th minute, get a 6 rating and have the supporters think he's a bad buy....

Hardly game breaking, but it could lead to contracts not being renewed/manager getting sacked. Still, I only say this because I've had it in 8.01, and it led me to going back to 8.00... and there's no mention of it being fixed for 8.02...

When I've had time to play a whole season with the 8.02 patch, then I'll be able to give more info...

really now, a cleaner. anyone? :(

Signings.... hmm, maybe there should be a "type" of signing option (or the game coupld autodetect that somehow) so that players with low cost or low contract shouldn't be judged, unless of course they get a lot of 1st team playtime.

what i mean is i'm ten seasons into it, so the game isn't getting any faster :p

Some of you guys honestly don't have a problem with Board Confidence? Its very broken. It criticizes youths/back ups who I don't expect to perform amazing... the fans start to hate them. The expectations are too high. It dosen't consider prior financial situations before you join.

Case and example: My first game was with Toronto FC, a new team in the MLS, my board expected me to win that championship within 2 years. (with no other options)

i know that maybe this isn't the right issue to discuss here, but i cannot seem to start fm2008. the program is loaded in xp, i can see it in task manager under processes but it doesn't start. i worked fine until a few weeks ago and now it won't start... what can be the problem? i also reinstalled it twice and updated it to 8.0.2.

I also saw a cheat somewhere that if you change the file extension of fake.Inc located in data\db\800\Inc\all to fake.bak
you will have the real name this is true?

Is it better to do both install susie FM patch and change the fake.inc file?
