After having played just 5 matches, I can say that the game is improved more then I expected. Every year we put a disk into the console expecting a miracle, and always end up a bit dissapointed, but this time again, we have to cheer up, as this game is realy a follow up of an amazing series, and it certainly is not a dissapointment.

Anyway, here is my list:

Improvements:

- goalkeepers are better, definitely
- the ball is more free then before, which makes the game more challenging to master. You get more balls into free space, and a lot more difference in positioning, running towards the ball and into space
- forward balls are great
- long balls are better and go into free space more often
- graphics are a lot better
- menues have solid improvements
- sliding tackles are now more difficult to execute, you need better timing, and you can't just slide being for instance 3 meters behind, to stop a player from scoring!
- size of players is more important now at high balls

Setbacks:

- game is a tiny bit too fast, and it turns a bit archadish when there are a lot of players in the small space
- linesmen are not there yet
- shooting is a bit easier

...

That's all that's very noticable at a first play!

Are you blind for calling the graphics better?Did you play PES 1 and then straight shift to PES 2008?

The graphics are horrible,They have de-graded it from the previous game.

i dont think its fair that ps2 gets all these stadiums and xbox 360 gets 15 or sumthing when i paid 45 quid when ps2 users only pay 25!!

is this because its trying to stay loyal to the ps2? it cant hold on for much longer surely??? :taz:

It's not that mate.

They are trying to divide up the features for current and next-gen versions of the game so they will continue getting sales in both departments.

EA did the same with FIFA 08. Although the next-gen FIFA 08 has A LOT of features FIFA 08 current-gen hasn't, FIFA 08 current-gen also has features FIFA 08 next-gen hasn't. For example a preseason schedule, whoch is Current-gen only.

P.S. can anyone please post some SS of the PS2 version? I haven't seen any, and I would really like to see how the game looks on the PS2...

Woah, you're saying the PS2 version is different to the previous game? Socro, or whatever your name is, you're wrong on many different levels.

It's the same game, Konami just stuck a new name on it - honestly.

The visuals are the same, the animations are, the entrance scenes are, the substitutions are, there are no differences to the gameplay in the slightest. Maybe the AI is slightly better, and that's a big maybe.

Complete and utter disgrace.

EDIT - Oh and after winning the World Cup, i can confirm that the award ceremonies are the same. Only the "World Tour" mode injects some life into a tired, tired series.

... definitely too fast, especialy when playing vs cpu stronger sides. The game turns archadish, totaly, it seams like pinball. It is ok only when playing humans, with mid and low strenght sides.
-I also still think the shooting is way too easy!
-Keepers have better reactions at shoots... definitely not at crossed high balls
