Yeah good performance, Veron did well. Van nisterooy hit the crossbar 40 seconds into his debut. While Andy cole scored 18 seconds after coming on.
Help? 22-07-2001, 05:56:PM That's a great start for United this season, hope everything will go like that for the whole season.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE SAY THAT THIS IS THE SIGN OF THINGS TO COME!
iceboy 22-07-2001, 07:21:PM Poor crossbar, it's been hit 4 times..
Van Nisterlrooy
Beckham
Number 14 from Malaysia... (outside pen area)
and I forgot who..
I hope Singapore won't be that bad..
Brodeur 22-07-2001, 08:59:PM I'm not a Man U fan but I hope they do well next season. They just have an excellent team. Good luck Manchester!
Amika 23-07-2001, 03:05:AM i've to admit that it is going to be harder for other teams to catch up with man u next season... and i've no doubt that they will probably win it again next season...
PhiLLer 23-07-2001, 06:10:AM Well played by United but I doubt it will be as easy as this next season :p
Silencer 23-07-2001, 06:22:AM Well, v Nistelrooy proved himself today as a fantastic striker, it don't matter where he plays :D
Well done United and well done Ruud!
Vishal 23-07-2001, 06:27:AM These are matches vs the most easiest opponents you could get. How does the result even matter ?
mikasalo32 23-07-2001, 07:25:AM They dont, there only preseason games designed to get the players fit and to treat the fans.
rumanu? 23-07-2001, 11:24:AM I think Ruud will have a great first season in the premier league for sure.

The 4th guy was poor ole Keane... David Beckham took a shot around 2-3 metres behind the penalty area. Beat the malaysian 'keeper, but not that crossbar :p
nfsmerc 23-07-2001, 11:35:AM The scoring almost opened in under 1-2 mins when van nistelrooy gets the ball and tries one just outside the penalty box... it's the crossbar that saved malaysia. Well... van nistelrooys second goal was a clever chip ;) He could have had a "hat-trick-debut" on his first match with united... hmm...
Roper 23-07-2001, 01:34:PM All I'm saying is that Malaysia isn't premier league...it's malaysia...Lets not jump the guns yet....But it's enevitable that united wil do well...hopefully in Europe...
schmeichel01 23-07-2001, 03:32:PM The performance shows that the team can gel to the new signings, veron played like he had been there his whole career.
Who will be taking the free kicks now?
Come on!U know who are MU rite? and u dun expect then to lose to a selection team. They didn't even practice more than a month againts the richest, greatest & most popular team which practice almost everyday!,they just practice for the match n it was a oportunity for them to experience sum big game.Losing 6-0 wasn't that bad rite??Mu trashed Arsenal 5-0 before!
GO M.U
Jambo Den 24-07-2001, 12:17:AM to be fair, what i seen of the locals that i ''made my mark'' on,these guys looked quite good but these were about 100+Singapore folks playing on one pitch!!
it's strange how you guys can have teams like one has shirts and non-shirts...
in the U.K. you have icicles on your nipples after 5 mins!
Football Kingz 24-07-2001, 01:31:AM What formation did they play? Was Paul Scholes on the bench?

It's still good ole Becks taking those freekicks. Corners are taken by Becks and Giggs...

They still play the 4-4-2... Paul Scholes replaced Veron at half time.
