I've played FIFA 2001 today and despite the excellent new additions I'm still slightly disappointed. I'm a Liverpool fan and the home kit is last seasons! As ever there is no Carlsberg logo which doesn't bother me but come on! It could at least be up to date. Wierdly the away is this year's kit so I don't know whats going on. Another thing: If your keeper is barged over in the box and a foul is awarded you'll take the free kick from the penalty spot. If you kick the ball into your own net straight away, you don't lose a goal! A corner is awarded instead!! This are small obvious errors that really should have been ammended or removed before released-Still a good game though..

Of course it's no goal if the free kick is given within the penalty box. Actually you are supposed to take the kick again and no corner should be given. You see this is because the ball isn't in play until it has left the penalty area. For instance, when the keeper has a goal kick the ball must leave the penalty area before any player can touch the ball. If the goalie puts the ball in his own net he will take the goal kick again. A free kick within the penalty box is the same as a goal kick. I'm a referee so I know this.

But one thing that is odd is that the keeper still isn't allowed to take as many steps as he wants but is still restricted to four. There EA made a little mistake.
