I'll get some screen shots for this later, but has anyone else seen this bug? It occurs in the PC version of the ffia 08, I'm not sure whether it exist in other platforms also...

Its to do with the player type image hitman, wingbacks, maestro, stopper for goalies etc. Its bronze for good players, silver for great players and gold for awesome players.

The bug: When you create a new player, midfielder, striker defender etc. The player type icon is always goalkeeper stopper. ALWAYS.

This is pretty annoying, does anyone know anything about this bug?

But i think my description is quite clear. Based on my description, can someone please reply to let me know whether this is a known bug or if its something which is unique to my version of the game. It just seems like such a strange bug.

The create player process gives you no way to change the player style, so it defaults to zero, which just happens to be value for the goalkeeper style. If it is any consolation whoever created the youth players in the database also messed up their player styles (they look pretty random to me, and are certainly not based on player positions).

So, to answer the question, it is a known 'feature' and annoyingly was there in FIFA 07 too, so yet another that EA simply ignored.

I can't speak directly of CM08 (I haven't got involved with the beta this year) but CM07 supported changing player styles so I see no reason why CM08 wouldn't. DB Master 08 also allows you to update that field, so if you added players using CM08 you could alter their player style using DB Master 08 if necessary.
