PhiLLer 24-07-2001, 05:01:PM And when England weren't performing well it was a national disaster, now the same has happened to Brazil although it's probably worse........not looking good for the Brazilians ruudruud100 24-07-2001, 07:44:PM Its...its...impossible!! Is it sure now that Brazil isnt going to WC2002? I DO hope not. We cant miss Brazil!! The first WC without Brazil.... *SIGH* :( :( :( Number9 24-07-2001, 07:58:PM They will bounce back once they get the full squad, remember Robert Carlos & Rivaldo are missing as they are still playing. Plus Ronaldo will be fit again soon... Im sure they can still do it! [ 07-24-2001: Message edited by: NufcNut ] hs232 24-07-2001, 09:05:PM When Big Phil became coach he called in the first team, and they still lost. I don't think Ronaldo will ever be the same for Brazil and Inter. Silencer 24-07-2001, 11:26:PM I for one am hoping for better times for Brazil, let's hope things will turn for the better when Ronaldo is fit again and Rivaldo and Roberto Carlos will join the squad. I agree with Ruud, Brazil belongs in a WC, it's not the same without the yellow/blues. Alenitchev 24-07-2001, 11:45:PM Brasil isn't simply going anywhere, altough I'm sure that if they end up 5th, Australia will be robbed to the bones in the playoff. As for Ronaldo... medical staff agrees that he will never return to his top form, 75% at best. Brasil will only be missed if they would be there on top form... but if they can't even qualify in a very accessible grouping, they would only be ashaming themselves during the tournament... Jambo Den 25-07-2001, 01:26:AM it's the way things go i'm afraid. the Brazilians have incredible talent but it increasingly looks like for the first time ever they wont grace us with their prescence at the world cup. look at it this way: nobody thought the titanic would sink but it did.nobodt thought Brazil would be humbled by a weak nation;it happened.nobody thought Brazil would not participate in a world cup;well it might just happen. pedroramone 25-07-2001, 06:01:AM That's it... I lost all my hopes on this team... Silencer 25-07-2001, 06:22:AM Adios Brazil, we'll miss ya when the WC2002 will start in Japan/Korea. Pity, real pity, a team with such great players, unbelievably sad :( :( Conqueror 25-07-2001, 06:51:AM Some comments: 1) Cafu, Antônio Carlos, Roberto Carlos and Rivaldo asked for "retire" and didn't go to Colombia. German teams didn't consent Élber and Lúcio to go there. They are some players who could help... 2) Brazil played not so really bad. They just didn't score (well, the great detail...). Guilherme isn't really a great striker, and Denilson had 2 players with him... 3) Remember: most coutries sent "team B". Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay didn't send all the best players. Where are Recoba, Santa Cruz, Gamarra? 4) Argentina and Italia had bad times some years ago. See how they are. I'm not so hopeful like could seem. If Brazil loses again to Paraguay (next match), then will really be a "good bye". Well, at least Brazil never lose to Venezuela (yet...) hs232 25-07-2001, 02:29:PM Where's Romario in all of this? I remeber when he came back to the national team he wrecked the opposition. Why wasn't he called up for Brazil for Copa America? bex7 25-07-2001, 03:40:PM I thought he got a long term injury and retired from international football. I must admit, their downfall is pretty spectacular though. Mike. |
