Hey all, well im new to this forum, and i must say its great! I love this game and am in my second season with Man Utd. I have signed some decent players inc Silva (valencia), and along with Rooney, Tevez, Saha and Ronalodo i think i should be scoring more goals. First season i finished 3rd which i was happy about but second season sitting 4th or 5th. Just wondered if anyone had advice for training routines? When you should recover players etc. My key players do suffer quite a bit from fatigue, but if i dont train them for a whole week to recover am I losing out?

Cheers for any tips/advice

i tend to rest my more fatigued players for one day after the game, welcome to the forum btw ;)

yeah but surely resting only for 1 day after game isnt enough?? also do u rest using the individual players tab and set to recovery?

my worser off players are at about 65-70% condition, and yeah i rest them individually. but most of my players dont need it, maybe because my training has a lower intensity level than yours?

I never rest them. We are no pussies here.

Still, I do try to score loads in the first half for them to relax in the second, wasting time, not pressuring, subs, etc.

Btw, welcome ;)

welcome to the forums..

first of all, if you're sitting in 4th or 5th because you're not scoring too many goals, maybe you should tweak the tactic a bit? also, if you're not confident on creating or modifying the training schedules, there are lots of great schedules available on the internet....i do find that leaving them as they are isn't too bad, you just have to hire yourself some good coaches, make sure all the training topics are 7-stars

Yeah, maybe the problem is in the tactic. I mean, such good players and no goals? Play a four four fuc**** two dude (H).

What do you mean by tweaking the tactics, and setting to 7 stars? sorry if i sound n00bish

good coaches for each training type, = 7 stars :) Tweaking a tactic means... oh god, this is hard to explain... , going to the team and player specific instructions and actually changing them. :D

yes, tweaking also involves the changes you do during the game to hold a result or attack it..

which is a pretty hard thing to do obviously

On the screen where you assign coaches to their type of training (attack, defend, tactics, etc.), there will be stars beside that type of training. To get 7 stars, for example, attacking, assign a coach with an attack coaching rating of 20. And so on and so forth with the other types of training.

i dont tend to rest players as such.. i just try to use all my subs.. (unless makin substitutions will blatently weaken my time at a time when i rly shudnt b) and certain star players never play in unimportant cup matches.

buy loads dont listen 2 ur board by as much as u thuink u need and as much as they will let u b4 they start cancelling their transfers.. i hav about 8-10 make sure theyre all gd at different things for example sum1 with 20 in defense set them to do defensive stuff 20 in technique set them to shooting or ball control etc etc that shud give u a gd rating for each skill. oh also make sure u hav a gd assistant manager.. 1st thing i did when i took over wolves b4 i even started lookin at players was sack all staff but 3 n hired new ones..

It tell you honestly, i havent played Football Manager, but FIFA Manager 08 is great! really is awsome, i mean for a game that u can just manage and watch in 3d mode, as apposed to actually playing which u can do with 1 player, its addicted. Buying cars, houses, luxurys, buying big players from big clubs, i guess it sounds similar, so maybe ill have to try FM 08
but fifa manager is worth checking out definately

Different audiences, dude. The people that really play(or played in my case :() football manager don't like fancy graphics over complexity and detail.

Its a matter of realism and coolness. Usualy ppl chose the "oh look thats cool" way thusss games like fifa actually exist.

Roo08, just leave us here play our awful miserably dull and uninteresting boring game.
