Its basically his creation master tool for your career, so (I assume) you can make changes to your career without messing too much with your regular database.

Quick question to Rinaldo though, will manager master have "Same My Career!" program capabilities as well. So i can edit the main database with transfers and other various details then automatically have them 'sync' to my career? And is there going to be a way to go backwards? Like making transfers with this tool and having them be applied to the whole game, not just my career?

But how would you find these real reasults? Can you see into the future? You can only use the results for the current season. There's no way anyone will know the results for the next 15 seasons (the span of manager mode). So what would be the point of that?

Stadium depends from the home team (apart from the final stadium set in the tournament).
Weather condition seems to be random. In order to have winter time it is necessary to modify the profile (or just play a game with winter conditions and save your profile). In the fixtures table there is a "time" field ... but it seems to have no effect in FIFA 08 :( so I didn't put it as an editable field.

Yes, it's possible. Follow these instructions that should work (they don't come from me, so I have not verified it yet):
1) Go to play a friendly match.
2) Set the stadium and the snow condition to yes
3) Make any change you want to the "Fifa settings" and save your profile as you always do.
4) Play the friendly game (check that the snow condition is still to yes)
5) Save the profile another time (i don't remember if this is necessary but I think that this can't make so bad things :D)
6) Go to your career mode and you will play winter matches until you don't return to friendly match, change snow option to "no" and save profile.

Try it and tell us if it's working ;)

fifa.fat will be in your game disc.You must have deleted it without your knowledge.You can copy it and paste it into the data directory.If fifa.fat is not there,none of the tools would work.Are you sure Your game works right now?

MM08 uses Registry information to get the folder where FIFA 08 is installed. If FIFA 08 is not installed it can't run.
The cases are:
1) You are running on a PC where FIFA 08 is not installed - no way.

2) The registry reports incorrect data (some patches may corrupt it), you should have a line like this in your registry

Install Dir REG_SZ C:\Programmi\EA Sports\FIFA 08\

3) MM08 cannot open your Fifa.fat file (maybe it is corrupted and a regenerator could recover the situation)

Rinaldo, I've tried to open my Tournament (I'm not playing a career, just the 1-Bundesliga Tournament), but MM didn't open the file. When I try to open a file, I have options to choose career or tournament, so, I choose a tournament, but nothing happens. I have the brazilian version.

I made the Russian League to get around that. Akinfeev is a quality goalkeeper though. EA should put CSKA in the rest of the world league.

I haven't tried editing anything in mm08 yet but it all seemed to open ok so it works for me.

The only 'downside' (not that it matters) is that the game experience resets to zero. It doesn't matter because you can 'grow' the skills of your players anytime. Want everyone to have 99 speed, no worries. Make your GK a giant, no worries. Make Rooney fatter, no worries.

I actually found a work around for this. I went into my original fifa.db and changed the name of the player (409519), using CM08, then went into my career file with MM08 and changed the name (409519) and got it to work. So now young player 409519 originally Claude Seigre is Martin Skrtel.

Honestly Steve, this first version of MM08 does not exploit all the potentialities of the career file (for example it does not allow to create players in career though it is potentially possible). I was referring to the request to change the name of a player already existing in fifa.db and , in this case, the name to be changed is the one in fifa.db as I don't know what will happen if the player has a name in fifa.db and a different name in B.carrer. It should be investigated. The workaround of Ashman23 works for sure.

Not exactly. The limit of 8 is in the file structure but you can change the teams you want to control, apart from the first 1 that is fixed. So, if you have 8 teams you can use MM08 to change the controlled teams from 2 to 7 and so you can virtually control any team.

I don't believe that the game cares about the player values in FIFA.DB since that table is read exclusively from the manager mode data file. Since players can have names held in the saved data (which you already cater for because created players and those from the patched rosters already show up correctly) it is almost certainly possible to add names to the data area at the end of the table and reference those strings in the same way as they would be for created players.

Growth curves exist in the database, not the saved data file, and can already be readily manipulated using DB Master.

Fixing the XP growth problem requires a program that performs the same function as DB Master but for saved data files (whatever happened to Internal Master Rinaldo, have you shelved it or is it simply lower down the list of priorities??) because you would need to save the contents of the career_player_growth_xp table before signing a player (or players) and then merge the new players into that saved data and re-import it.

Just to report that using Skrtel again in a game did not recreate the crash I had, so it must of being something else. My game is running fine, must of been one of those things that happen occasionally.

1. If I save a tournament as one of the teams in the first match, (eg Switzerland vx Czech Republic) MM doesn't show anything in the Tournament file - it's just blank. Perche?

2. If i save as a team that plays after the first match, won't the result of the matches before it always be the same, thus reducing chances of a certain team progressing? Eg I choose Portugal and opening match is always say hyopthetically 1 - 0?

3. Can neutral stadiums be set in the tournament file for rounds where the teams are not known? EG Quarter finals and Semi Finals only use two stads Ersnt-Happel and St. Jakob. Also if it could be applied to have a neutral stadium for all games including group stage that would be great as well.

4. Also I have noticed a problem that in Tournament Mode always has 4-4-2 formation as default for all teams. Is there a way to fix the file so that all teams custom formations are shown, including those controlled by CPU? BTW, if a user goes to My Squads in Tournament mode, it sets its team formation to the custom one from 4-4-2.
EDIT: I just did a test in removing the generic formations from the (800's) and it showed the team's custom formation but only with the GK (and resulting in a crash! :( ). If I went to my squads it would set the user team's custom formation as per usual, but this time the same formation would also be applied to the CPU opponent too. :|

EDIT: This doesn't have to be neccessarily from the tournament file; If There is something for any of the above that can be done in the fifa08.exe file that would be also help. ;)

Sorry but I didn't understand well what you mean. Can you explain better ?

The only thing you can do is to assign a stadium to the team or to the final.

This is a typical situation occurring when the formation assignement has some problems, in this case FIFA 08 use 4-4-2 by default . I suggest you to review the assignement of formation to the teams.

I have two quick questions (not entirely about MM08 but still):

1. Can I install new stadiums without corrupting the manager file? I'm halfway into my first season and I don't want to start over, is there any way to install more stadiums and assign them to teams in the MM without having to do that?

2. How can I control more teams? I don't see an option within the program to manage more teams, I can only access my team.

It should work. Backup your fifa.db, your language.db and your career file and try yourself. If anything goes wrong you can restore the previous situation restoring these 3 files.

No, the standing is the only thing saved by FIFA.

You can change the teams participating to a tournament.

In my manager mode, for example, Cardiff, Sunderland and Crystal Palace have been the last three teams in the PL all season (I play as Forest in the Championship). Do I just make the change right in the standings, and that's it, if I want some other teams to be relegated?

Also, does anyone know how FIFA calculates and decides where each team finished in the table? A bit boring that the other leagues doesn't get simulated since then their transfers and what not during the season doesn't matter at all...

The team_lookup table in the manager mode data file contains those standings but I believe that they represent the values used at the start of the current season, not at the end. Thus you can update them all you like but it will have no effect and your changes will be overwritten by the game at season's end. However, it would be an interesting experiment to try it and see if it makes any difference. Let me know what you find out ;)

This feature is quite complex to implement (maybe too much, honestly) I mean to add a tournament to a career and, in any case, it would work for 1 year only. But if you want to add some friendly matches you can try to do it using Internal Master 08 and editing the rtsg table.

Hi Rinaldo, I've changed some features in the ECC and EFA tournaments with the CM08 (added some more teams, changed the tournament table in order to avoid teams of the same country meeting in the same qualifying round). Now, while I'm playing a career, I won the National Cup and the League as well. In the next season the game allows my team to play ECC and EFA together (I play ECC since I won the League and EFA since I won the Nat Cup too!).
I know that your new tool could let me change the teams taking part at the tournaments, so I can fix it up, but I wonder if I could change something with the CM08 in order the game would recognize I'm playing ECC so won't let me play the EFA too as it always did.
How can I fix this up? Thanks!

If you want to try you can use Internal master and modify the tables fixtures (for the game result) and team_lookup (for the standings and the qualified teams)

In order to have the CL the first year you need to change its tournament id to 95 or less using CM08 before to start a career (see more details in the CM08 help file)

The problem, already in the original FIFA 08, is how the team are qualified for the different international tournaments and in the fact that FIFA 08 does not understand the "double" qualification. Only workaround is to change the qualification rule to the tournament using CM08. For example the team playng UEFA cup should come from the league and not from the national cup.

Not immediate but you can do this with the Internal Master 08, set-up yor friendly matches with the team you can and save your career. Open it with IM08, go to the rtsg table and take note of the four values in the rtsg column. Now switch to the team_lookup table and search the same values. In the row below, in the column team_id, you have the team you play with. Change it and that's all.

Nothing. Your manager prestige is derived from the number of manager points. These are modified after every match and the new prestige calculated accordingly. To get a permanently higher manager prestige you need to increase your points in line with this .INI file parameter:

POINTS_FOR_STAR_ = 0,1000,2500,5000,7500,12500,17500,25000,32500,4000 0,50000

So to get a manager prestige of 8 you'd need more than 32,500 points but less than 40,000

Yes, with a bit of care, although I suspect that Internal Master would be the right tool for the job, not Manager Master. You need to save the contents of the career_player_growth_xp table before signing new players, and then reinstate them (adding the new entries from the updated version of the table). For youth players (scouted or academy) you can save the game, save the table, sign the player(s) from the shortlist or academy, re-save the game and update the table. For other players you need to save before and after the match, which means that you lose any growth from the game, but the process would be the same.

Caveat: I have done this many times but never with the help of the FIFA Master tools, only using a hex editor.

You have to use MM, it (should) do only things that do not damage your career.

I've been having some issues with MM08,
I created my team and used in a Manager Mode.
When I edit my players attributes, potential, learning rate etc... I get a message saying it cannot detect certain fsh files. Not only that, but my manager mode crashes once I edit my players attributes.

I tried it with ac milan to make sure it wasn't a problem with only created teams and players. But my manager mode still crashes.

So I tried IM08 to edit the attributes of my created players and started a new Manager mode. I put the potential of my players at 94, so they wouldn't have a better overall rating than 94, decreased their learning speed from 1 to 4, but even that didn't work. My players growth rate still indicated my created players would reach a 99 ovrl within 5 seasons.

Any suggestions that can help?

When you sign a player to your team (or when you start with a club) then they get a boost to their potential. No. It is the remainder when divided by five, so the remainder is zero (since 90 is wholly divisible by five) and the increase would be a single point to 91. The field in the database allows the increase to be up to 15 points, but IME the increase can never be greater than nine (a learningspeed of five plus the largest possible remainder of four)

So I opened up my career in MM08 and changed the negotiator, stadium manager, and medical staff to Lv10, then saved it and quit. But now whenever I load up my Manager Mode Save ingame the game crashes.

whenever i opened manager mode after modifying values in mm08 I got the same problem. you're best bet is to use im08..find the career options somewhere in there and try to change your attributes there.

I used it to change my player's atrributes and my manager mode works fine.

MM08 has been designed to do only changes that should allow to continue your career after that the editing is saved but, you know, this game is very complex and sometime editing can cause the crash of the game itself. For this reason MM08 always makes a backup of you original career and your original database (see the files with .bak extension). If the edited version doesn't work you can restore the original version deleting the new one and removing the .bak extension from the backup file.

Thats a pretty cool feature, but I don't really care about my save anyway (it was a new one I used to test MM08 :P). So does this mean that I can't use the edit staff feature or is there some workaround to the crashes?

EDIT: I tried again, this time only changing the staff levels to 9 instead of 10 and it worked. But for some reason the striker coach got upgraded instead of the stadium manager. Then when I opened it again in MM08 it said Striker Coach was still 3 and Stadium Manager was still 2 =.=

I really have no idea what's going on >_>

EDIT 2: Easiest way seems to be to just give yourself tons of money and upgrade it yourself

I am trying to start a new Liverpool career and I'd like the Prem to start in Aug for the 2008-09 season.

Can I change the start and end date of a tournament or do I have to accept a 2007 start date?

I see in MM08 that there is a slot to change the start / end dates, but its always greyed out and I cannot change it.

When I save anything in MM08, it resets my rosters back to the originals...i.e no Martin Skirtel for Liverpool or Anelka for Chelsea.

Okay so, I've located the certain player I wanted. Kluivert (5680). Now, how can I add him to a certain team? He's not part of anywhere. Not a free agent, no where. I just got his ID and his face came up. His name and all aren't right. Can I still edit him?

Edit: It won't even allow me to edit him. So is there a way I can add Kluivert to my manager mode and still keep my manager mode going?

I have the strangest problem.

I previously played a full career of 15 seasons, during which I edited a lot of stuff with MM, and never had any problems.

Now I want to start a new career and have edited a lot of stuff; rosters, stadiums, kits etc. with CM in order to get everything right, since my last fifa.db save was from back in March.

I tested everything in game before starting a new career without problems, so I wasn't expecting any problems with the new career. But I have...

I can start a new career just fine and sim a whole season if I want to but whenever I change anything in MM and save it, the game hangs at about 75 percent while simming the following game. I even tried just starting MM, not change anything at all and save, and it still crashes.

This is so weird because it's the same fifa.db as with my last, flawless career and I used MM extensively without experiencing a single crash.

I still used beta 0.3 during the first career and had no problems but I now installed 1.0 but it doesn't make a difference...

If anyone has some input I would greatly appreciate it. I've become so used to editing with MM that I refuse to play a career without it. Thanks in advance.
