Well we played crappy today, thats a fact, but we can say Van Nistelrooy saved the Netherlands, scoring 2 goals as a substitute. So United fans, I think that now you can be convinced that Van Nistelrooy is a good player.

Stupid wanker, I hate that Van Gaal, he was good when he was coaching Ajax, I have to admit. But now he thinks he is God or something. When he became the National teams coach, he said was for sure that he would make Holland World Champions. Well now I dont even care if they make it to the World Cup, if only Van Gaal could get fired again. :mad: that would just be cool.

(just kidding) respect to Estonia for playing so well. Their best player and goalkeeper Mart Poom who is now at Derby County also played in KUPS of the Finnish League and I remember him as being really good he has also impressed for Derby. They are eventually getting better at football and they have some very talented youngsters from what I heard.

They were. What they're not telling you is that they put Estonia with their backs to the wall for the full 90 minutes, hit the woodwork a couple of times, and Estonia scored with two (albeit wonderfully executed) breaks before it took Holland all but 5 minutes to score 3 goals. The Dutch sports press are treating this as some kind of national disaster, but I saw the highlights on German TV and they said it was just a hard-fought, very entertaining game that Holland deserved to win.
It all depends on your point of view I suppose. There are no little guys in football anymore (unless you play in Australia's qualifying group of course :D

Holland was absolutely NOT playing on full strength, Hofland had become ill before the match, in his place Melchiot played a really terrible match, the 2 goals from Estonia were his fault. Davids is suspended, so he couldn't play also, and Van Bommel was injured so he couldn't play as well. Van Nistelrooy is not in good shape yet but he was the big man because he scored 2 goals as a substitute. This was just some sort of B-lineup. Not the best possible line-up.

estonia deserved to win there were 2 stupid defence-mistakes and they ruined the game:
1) Raio Piiroja´s own goal
2) the 4th Dutch goal, I don´t want to talk about it
3) and Andres Oper he played pretty well, but he waste a one on one chance

It's just a problem that some players are sick or have injury's or can't play ( Davids )

Hofland is the best Dutch defender at the moment I think, Ooijer has to play for Reiziger I think, but yeah he is injured. Van Bommel in midfield is the best solution for the problems around Davids.

I saw one of the Estonian goals it was really good. Who was that player I hope HJK would sign him he was great !

I hope holland makes it to the next wc....Brazil and Holland ussually play great games at the wc finals.....in 98 brazil and holland played an awesome game......do you guys still remember that game in 94....one of the best soccer matches i've ever watched in my whole life......what a great free kick goal by Branco.....i just hope they make it to the finals....besides brazil which is my favourite team i really like to watch Holland play.....holland kinda play like brazil but in a european style...... :cool:

i just saw the reply last night.. oh my god... holland is in deep **** if they play like that in the WC final... and the two goals scored by the estonian are world class strikes man.. the only great goal scored by holland was the one from frank de boar.. the rest are just defenders and goalkeeper mistake... for me, thumbs up for the estonian....

well, for us it was shown in our locally paid tv... which has a sport channel...

The Dutch team did not play well but for me KLUIVERT was the savier and not van Nistelrooy, sure he scored two times but Kluivert made 3-2 in the dying moments of the game with his head.

Yes, the Dutch defense is a lot tighter when Stam plays but he had an injury and boy did we miss Davids!
I agree, Paauwe and Melchiot are definitely not first choice players but v Gaal had to do something. Pierre v Hooydonk was very important in front when he came on the pitch because he's very tall and a great header as such. Hasselbaink is a great striker (he is not the topscorer in the EPL for nothing)but when he plays for Holland..... I don't know maybe nerves or smth but most of the time he freezes.

Well, I still believe that Holland will qualify for the WC 2002, we are now second and Portugal third because of the win.
On the 2nd of September the big match against Ireland but I know the Dutch team and they will play very good on that day believe me just like the game they played against Portugal. When they need to be there THEY WILL and they will go through.

I say Kluivert, v Nistelrooy and v Hooydonk in the selection against Ireland as starters!

I think Hasselbaink has to start on the pitch for Holland because hes too good a player and to dangerous a player to leave out,sure van nistelrooy and van hoojidonk are excellent players but Hasselbaink is a class above and should prove to be a good partner for kluivert

yah.. what happened to Hasselbaink??? he is the best striker in the EPL now... and can't even start a game for holland... and i must say that the two goals scored by ruud was nothing special especially the last goal.. their defence just went to sleep... i was shaking my head when i saw that...
