I hate it how the database has an update for the January transfer window. I want to decide myself wheter I want to play with an updated DB or not.

Other than that, it seems to work pretty fine. Although I think it was already pretty playable before this patch, but I agree it's nice to see one-on-ones actually been tucked away nicely for a change. :)

I just wish they wouldn't rush the patches (and the game itself). The Defoe, Diarra errors, Turkish league finances, those could be fixed easily....

Nope, the patch has already been installed... databases won't change that... pick whichever one you want.

I've had no major issues with 8.0.2. Everything was ok in 8.0.1, except the damn match engine..

The thing that annoys me the most, is that it loses realism. Because either I have to start in the past, with transfers as they were back then (the old DB), I have to start in the past, but with transfers from January present from August 2007, OR I can choose the start season as (for example) Norway February 2008. But then it simulates the first half of the season, so odds are it wont be realistic qualifiers etc...

It's annoying that SI NEVER seem to get it right first time :(

Zlatan: The Database isn't 'Fixed' just updated...its the exe, and other files that are fixed. So you can choose the old DB...

My preference though is to choose the new DB and (as mentioned above) choose to start in Norway, February 2008. I'm patient, and I run a few starts, until the League table looks something like it does IRL :p

no cup competition after a new season (if my saved game is from a prev version). Also I had income issues. Went from +1mileuros per month to -4. Without any reason obviously.

People have also been complaining about youngsters having their stats decreased significantly if they continue a save game from a previous patch, due to SI changing the way stats are calculated from CA....

So, what they're saying is, start playing only after the last patch, which means, don't buy FM09 until Feb 09?

Yeah, it can be annoying having to start again (esp. if you had made progress in ur first game), but the 8.0.1 was so bad with the match engine etc, that Id rather start a new proper game anyway...So annoying that we have to start in February though! :(

I was considering taking anger management classes during 8.0.1 but luckily with the new patch I won't have to go that far. Even though I still lose and concede ridiculous goals with the new patch, I don't seem to become as angry as I used to, so thats credit to SI.

I have noticed that the sounds f*cks up regurlarly. I mean it's always been crap, but it seems to be worse since the patch.

Too many goals.

The least number of goals I've scored in my current season is 3 and the most I have scored is 3 :confused:

I do seem to score a few goals too...but atleast the team with the better tactics is winning at the moment :p...I'm guessing that this has come about after they tried and balanced the 50 shots to 1 goal hting from 8.0.1...

indeed, all they need now is to find the middle ground..

I seem to be having trouble with one of the disputed "fixes", bought one Andrey Arshavin (love the name) and I thought nothing of it. I also sign the fantastic Rafael Van der Vaart and Arshavin starts whining about too much competition for places in the side. So i reassure him hes in my first team plans, and basically play him every game even if his morale is rock bottom, and still, STILL, hes complaining about not being first team and competition for places, only now he can't settle in the area either! Farfan doesn't seem to have any trouble... I think maybe hes just a prima donna?

I haven't had any problems with high scoring so far. Did you guys continue an 8.0.1 save or did you start a fresh game after installing the 8.0.2 patch? Because it seems that if you continue from an old save after installing the patch you get some pretty crazy scorelines.

I actually seem to be winning with a small margin all the time. 1-0, 2-1 etc.

I used to have low margins too, then the odd 6-2, back to the 1-0s and 2-1s...

I'm a little dumb... Is it possible to play a saved game with 8.0.1 with the 8.0.2 match engine? Cause I find it very hard to start again, because I'm in 2013...

I can't remember if you need to start a new game to take advantage of the new match engine fixes... I'd say you'd have to start one, yes, though i'm probably wrong.

**** this. the only reason I'm still playing FM is because of the savegame I have with my mate...because this **** is just out of hand. your players are dumb ****s, the opposite players, even the all-stats-below-9 ones are godlike machines; the match engine, well, is probably just an "engine", definitely not worthy of having "match" in the name; there isn't a single day that goes by without at least three news of some player of yours getting injured; the game just genuinely doesn't make any sense.

About the injuries, I confirm. Holy crap, around February (a crucial moment, CL and stuff), I have half of the lead team injured. ALWAYS. I don't stop playing it because of this, but it is quite annoying.

I think the match engine is just fine. It has some bugs, and unusual moments, but I don't see anything bad about. It's football.

everybody has different problems. i have only played with a team in a, i guess, less that talented leauge, and i've experienced a multitude of problems. my defenders constantly get beat by the give and go; they do not know how to take routes to balls; they will not go for a loose ball that was knocked away from an opposing player, instead they will retreat for some odd reason. my wingbacks will constantly run with the ball even set in defensive mode, and set to never run with ball or make forward runs. the strikers still miss unbelievable shots multiple times a game. i started a new game with the new patch, everyone keeps saying it's the greatest gift to man since porn, but i don't see that great of a difference. maybe it's different for big clubs where players have higher ratings, haven't tried that yet. still though, the lack of realism is appaling. i tried trolling the SI forums for some tips/help/explanation, and after about 20 minutes realized i'd have better luck furiously masturbating figuring this **** out. still a fun game, i've played every version since 01/02 but some of these bugs/glitches that i've expected to go away have just been hanging around.

man **** this ****! I started a new game with St Etienne after I installed the patch, and I'm currently in 2010/2011. but I swear if this happens again I'll never play FM in my entire life.

if everything would have went right, I'd be the top club in Europe now. Wagner, Neymar, Piatti, Lulinha, Hector Moreno, Sotiris Ninis, David De Gea, Aykut Demir, Rabiu Ibrahim, Lucas Trecarichi, Aquino, Bogdan Stancu, Bernardo, Vincent Muratori... f*ck each one of them has world class potential and half of them left cause the owner decided to accept the offer. take Piatti for example, I bought him for 400k, and after 2 seasons he was worth 8mil. then Udinese comes, after many other rejected offers, they make a 11mil bid, I reject it and the chairman accepts it stating that it's too much to refuse (when I have a 50mil budget and when I refused a 18mil offer). Hector Moreno, maybe the best defender in the game, got him for 5mil for Alkmaar, was worth 10 in 1 year, leaves to Benfica for 14mil, same story. and those are just a few examples. the only good thing that's happened is that I've signed Lulinha in my first season for like 4mil and Nurnberg made a 25mil offered which I imediately accepted, and now he's in their reserve team. :p

anyway, it could have been the first time when my team was entirely made up of top class talents that I've found and half of them get sold by the chairman for lousy offers. and I don't care about the other players, it's just that I'm sorry for the ones that I've grew and for the fact that I've got to pay enormous amounts for a decent 25-year old when everybody else gets bargains for awesome players. plus they said that they fixed this in the patch.

What status has the chairman? (loves the club etc.) It may be because he doesn't love the club. In my game, at least, Gigi (Steaua's chairman, George Becali) was indifferent to 18mil.

The single most annoying thing for me is that everyone seems to have A.D.D in this ******* game. Clubs will make the same offers over and over even though I keep rejecting. Players will keep asking for first team football every month even though they apparently "issued a public appology". Sometimes, when a player requests a transfer and I reject, he'll keep requesting every time I click continue. Is there no way to control this ****?
