As you can see, now weather is included in the game. Hurrayyy! :)
Danny_FS 26-02-2008, 06:46:PM fantastic but it's not for PC
Broodrooster 26-02-2008, 06:55:PM I doubt that as well. The Next-gen engine Fifa uses would be more demanding to your PC then Crysis... That's what an developer said in an interview when Fifa2008 came out.
Generic Oval 26-02-2008, 08:55:PM Wow, looks great!:D
If this is the same for PC I'll go buy it, if not I won't and many others too.
By the way I don't think that the engine is too high for actual pcs.
The graphics of next-gen FIFA aren't sooooo über-good.

Next-Gen games are not only about graphics, it is more about processing and data implementation of the game from the disk to the TV screen. When you play FIFA on next-gen console you can immediately feel how players are much smarter and more human! And even after playing for 6 months now, I can't predict moves as much as I use to do for the PC version. Next-Gen consoles are made for that propose. :)
A PC can definitely run high performance games, but having an Multi-use OS (OSX, Linux or even VISTA) makes the process nearly impossible to happen, and that is why I doubt that we will see the quality of next-gen games on PC's anytime soon; having said that, I have very high hopes for the new engines such as the CryENGINE 2 and the Unreal engine.
To conclude, the footage that you have seen from the trailer is strictly next-gen and is not available for PC in that exact quality; it is hard to happen and will not happen anytime soon.
Enjoy your day! :)
Masterpaul 26-02-2008, 11:08:PM Yay we will have some nice stadiums to rip off.. lol
Off course... as usuall the console verson want look as good as this, cause its a prerendered movie. Not actual game footage.

Actually what you have seen is 100% in-game and actual footage from the console version. :)
Gone are the days when they use to have a special team to create special footage for the trailer or game intro! now it is all about picking the best moves and sticking videos together which is perfectly nice; and yes, I'm talking about EA Sports; Konami still uses the old method, and you know the reasons. :p
Masterpaul 27-02-2008, 02:08:AM well they should release a next gen fifa for high end pc also.
Generic Oval 27-02-2008, 06:26:AM @sa33ood: The're already pcs on the market with more power than all these ****ty consoles. I mean just look at the new quad cores, but anyway lets talk about the ne Euro game....
Here I spotted the official boxart:

Enjoy!
Ultra_Blue 27-02-2008, 02:21:PM Good trailer, let's hope we'll soon have news if it'll be next gen on pc as well.
Winjer 27-02-2008, 02:36:PM I seriously doubt that's the official boxart cover. I mean, considering there are TWO German flags on it, and the UEFA EURO 2008 is played in Switzerland and Austria... That just seems too weird to be the real cover.
They should change the two flags to an Austrian flag and a Swiss flag...:D
Ultra_Blue 27-02-2008, 03:49:PM It is official ;).

Probably the flags represent the in-game language. :)
thelordspawn 27-02-2008, 09:42:PM looks like they are using fake numbering. as usual very disappointing
Masterpaul 28-02-2008, 01:43:AM It looks like the official german cover.
RobbieD_PL 28-02-2008, 05:12:AM Great Video, but hopefully EA will also release some CG stuff soon. (Y)
Generic Oval 28-02-2008, 06:10:AM I don't think they will release any current generation stuff soon. Think how long it took for this trailer, at least EA didn't do it on its own, it was gametrailers who uploaded it. And by the way, I think it's like last year and FIFA 08, there will be only 1 or 2 screens for cg because EA does not dare to show us these baaaad graphics and just wants the average gamer to believe that Euro 08's graphic is of course the ng graphic.(N)
johan 12-03-2008, 04:44:PM Is this based on FIFA 07 or 08 engine (360, ps3) sorry for my rookiness I took a long break from gaming.

Welcome back, it's ok. :)
08 was based on 07, so answering your question: 09 is going to be based on the 08 and 07 engines.

::shinji:: 28-03-2008, 02:14:PM has anyone heard anything about whether EA brought back the option to use the D-Pad for control in this game?
LuvPES 30-03-2008, 03:34:PM Unfricken believable! great game! and dare I say, the best football game I have ever played, it is faster, way more exciting and just fun as hell to play! The graphics are much better!
This is a definite buy. I was just blown away by this demo! Put this game on "broadcast" camera and you will be in football heaven.

Give it a few days....:-puke::-puke::-puke:
LuvPES 31-03-2008, 03:37:AM Shoot! this game is great and definitely feeling it. I have not bought the last 2 FIFA(s) but this game I definitely feel.
zeppos 02-04-2008, 10:06:PM the game is truly awesome, to say the least. it has corrected most (if not all of) the minor issues that FIFA08 had. You should really check out the demo. It's a lot better than PES2008. Period.
expat 07-04-2008, 06:23:PM Im in the USA and I heard you can d/l the demo from the UK play. station store...how the hell do I do this? Can someone help me out cos I really want to check out the demo. I went to the site but couldnt find any demos HELP PLEASE

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Sorry for dragging this thread off-course and responding to such a dated post but are you saying that a PC is not capable of running games up to a console's standard? "I doubt we will see the quality of next-gen games on PC's anytime soon." I've read your post a good 5 times and I have to say that you're completely wrong. For instance, look at Call of Duty 4, a game released on both the consoles and the PC. While the console version is limited to 1080p maximum and a steady 60fps (which is very good, don't get me wrong), the PC version can be run at much higher resolutions with framerates exceeding those of the console version. Of course it takes a decent computer to run these kinds of games, but don't let the consoles fool you - they are really not that powerful. You can look at the specs for a PS3 or Xbox 360 and be amazed, but do some research and you'll see that these machines are really sub-par compared to decent gaming PCs. The only reason PC games such as FIFA and the NBA Live series aren't as good on the PC as they are on the consoles is that the developers don't put much time/effort into the PC versions. They simply release a PC version they deem playable so that it'll sell. If game developers cared as much about the PC audience as they do about the console audience, we would be seeing far superior sports games on the PC. Although the 360's and PS3's offer game developers a fantastic platform to develop popular games on, the PC will always be the superior machine in terms of potential. If I sound unreasonable, trust me - I'm not. Think of it this way: A PS3 or 360 will stagnate on the market with the exact same specifications and hardware for several years while PC's are constantly upgraded. In the time that a 360 has been on the market, a new line of video cards or faster RAM have been also put on the market for PC's.
Haha, sorry for my extended rant, it's just that when I see someone who is a bit confused regarding the differences between PC's and consoles, it sets me off.
Zakov 15-04-2008, 03:51:PM don't forget that console games were developed on the pc in the first place..........
CopeCOwBoy 15-04-2008, 09:49:PM don't forget that console games were developed on the pc in the first place..........
and the pc version looks and plays like garbage.
expat 16-04-2008, 01:03:AM So I finally got my grubby paws on the PS3 Euro 2008 demo...
After the first two minute game I was in love. The gameplay is brilliant, way better than Fifa 08 (which I thought was good) so I will definately be buying this when its released. I used to be a PES fan until the last 'offering', which I thought was lazy and felt unfinished. Im sure Euro 2008 will keep me happy - now if if the gameplay stays like this for Fifa 2009 I will be like a pig in ****. EA and the FIFA series has done a great job reinventing a tired franchise...roll on FIFA 09!!
