It's better if you try to go through the game yourself unless you need help. You gain experience by doing it all yourself before asking for advice.

Tactics are a very big topic. Depends on your situation and requirement. Different tactics are used for different situation. Say for example, if playing a club like Rotherham, I'd go 4-4-2. But against Arsenal, I'd play 4-5-1 to contain them. It depends on the situation really.

And to let you know, you can count on the friendly people here in the FM forum. And welcome btw.

it really depends on where you intend to go with this...and what do you need really...

Breno was a hell of a buy (Y)

yes, you definitely need a striker, try Billy Sharp if you have the funds, great player..

and then there's the usual guys like Ninis and stuff..

just be prepared for a little bit of frustration. i've noticed the usual bugs are still there. they vary by game, but strikers are missing a lot of one on ones, midfielders still don't score as much as realistically possible, and the offsides bug is still around. The new patch seems to have cleared them up a bit, but they are still around.

play around with your team. some strikers are better played by themselves up front, while other ones need a teammate to be making strafing runs up front to help them out. every game is different. try the players forum if you need tips for players. some are decently cheap and turn out pretty good. you don't need a tactic if everybody on your team has 20 for long shots :D

well actually, Scott McDonald is my second top scorer behind Christie, who's scored once in his last 5 games, and that was a penalty in the cup. He looks like scoring but he just can't hit the back of the net.

Malcom Christie 11
Scott McDonald 7
Tommy Smith 5

Sergio Mota now on the bench, him and Breno were free transfers. They didn't have clubs. Mota can play on the left wing or CM. Allan Johnstone has just hit top form tho.

Tommy Smith can play on either wing or as a striker, so that is probably why he scores a lot from the wing.

Huh? I can't remember Mota or Breno ever being unattached at the start of the game. Are you sure someone hasn't been editing it? ;)
