Hey, I'm british, but I just happen to live here, and all I can say is that the Turkish league has improved a HELL of alot. Of course it can't match the Premier, or Spanish, or Italian leagues, but... Still it is already of a certain standard. For many years the only clubs which won a european trophy were british, Italian, spanish, german and a few french teams, this is the first time some other country has done something, of course you can't compare GS to the likes of Man Utd, but according to GS's stance in Economy (and galatasaray is a VERY poor team which is deep in debt) the team has achieved the impossible. So I suggest you consider this. As for the national team, who cares if portugal beat them, Turkey has only been in a major tournament 2 times. For god's sake, teams like belgium, england and germany couldn't make it to the quarter finals, but Turkey did, and that's why I show respect to them. To all you protugese fans, Of course portugal is advanced in football terms, it has an old league, which has always been of a certain standard. You can't possibly match the likes of Fabio Concenciao or Figo to many players because they are so classy. So I'd say you consider these. Oh and another thing, Turkish people probably live in better standards that most people, and yes, they can afford PC's and TV's unlike some comments made by other readers, plus, over 5 million people use the internet here (these are official stats by the way) and you must notice that there's only a few people who ever post anything here, and they have to say things like GS rules, cos if they were to say anything like

it is just their openion. and you should respect that ok. well the greeks are having a strong european side this year what do you have to say fot that, the turks are first in their champions league group what do you say for that, russions are always showed good solid team in earope what do you say to that, israil also has good teams that are very challenging against the big european teams.
these teams are beating the spanish, italian and the english sides for the past few years.

like for example galatasaray beat leeds united and also won the uefa cup against arsenal and these were not enough and they won the super cup against the solid spanish side real madrid. after all these they have something to say about their leagues.
