They don't know a damn thing about football, but they aren't stupid. They read all this stuff even though it doesn't always seem like they listen, I'm sure they're well aware of all the ISS talk going on lately and I think they've probably made Fifa2001 as similar to ISS as possible without infringing on anything that would get them sued.

need alot more than adding bits and peoieces to get the game as sophisticated and realistic as ISS(IT REALLY AMAZES ME)

look at the videos for the japanese version of fifa:
it already had apower bar,1-2's ,wider pitch,slower gameplay but still seemed pretty stupid after i played ISS...

ALTHOUGH it seemed compared to fifa's(before i played ISS)

bottom line: an improvement is definite and i said that EVEN BEFORE THE FAQ's..
but will it be good enough for u? that's the question

The preview link to ps2.ign.com that I posted a few days ago, which everyone seems to have ignored, has videos of the US version if you want to see a bit of what the game is really like.(The five videos in the 'current media' section are of the US version, but the others in the 'archived media' section are the Japanese version) It looks to me like the same garbage as always with a few very minor changes. I have the same impression too. In the video Ive seen a player charge through several players and yet he was able to get away without a scratch.

what i saw from the video was a nice game wich has smooth graphics. but the players are getting charged and not been called any fauls, i don't think it is a problem because there is the level strictknes for this. just put the stricktnes to a high level than i think it should be ok. because i am woried about it too. i mean the damn ref won't call almost to any fouls that are been commited. and that is sucks. lets hope the levels are been improve in fifa 2001.
