You have a good new coach, BUT...
...I don't see him leading even the best national side to a WC or EC. Why? Because he is best at not making his team lose. Even when playing home, like yesterday, against a direct rival, but not equally great team, he plays his team with a 4-5-1 ! ONE forward. O.k., Lopez is injured, but he still could chose from Crespo, Salas, Inzaghi and Ravanelli, and he decided to play 1 (ONE) forward against a direct competitor. For some ****ed up reason this guy seems to fear a loss so bad, he would maybe play 7 defenders some day. And to me the reason he still enjoys some wins is because he has the team with maybe the greatest depth in the world.

and he never did anything but playing a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1. Even when he had Roberto Mancini he played him at midfield.

I say that because I really think England has some talent, Heskey was terrfic and looked like Vieri against Italy. But if you're lucky you will see him playing with Owen, I less lucky he'll play infront of a packed midfield.
Now imagine how red Eriksson's face will become when playing Brazil in a WC quarter-finals...

Well managers don't always play tactics and formations the same in international games as they do in domestic league games, but I guess time will tell how exactly he approaches the games with England.

I personally just hope he can decide who are the players he wants in his team in every game and stick with them, as there is a tendency with England managers to try every single player they can in the English league to see who is best, and by the time the important games come up they still don't have a settled side that has got used to playing together, nor is familar with the precise tactics they are supposed to play.

Kevin Keegan did this before Euro 2000 and was none the wiser when it came to the finals, you'd find he'd get a respectable draw against Brazil at Wembley and then the team would be completely different again the next match, so I would just like to see consistency in the England team in the future, then perhaps performances would be better.
