Is there a way to assign controls to gamepad, cause in the game you're not allowed to change things, so i thought maybe some of you guys know which files should be changed to assign the through ball, sliding tackle etc to the gamepad.

good luck with that i have a ps2 with radioshack adapter and every year i have to text edit devdata.dat in "documents\fifa\user" folder to have the pad working correctly but this year the addition of more controls ( i.e. seperating the defensive controls from the offensive ones) caused me to be unable to set the buttons for these controls because simply there are no buttons left

let's hope this is just a glitch and doesn't make it to the final release

They just separated them, but i think you can still set more controls to the same button, because the button will act with attacking controls when you have the ball and with the defensive ones when you don't, IMO it's the same as before but they've given us the possibility to separate them, just try setting them up like before and you should be able to (for example: try putting shooting/clearance and soft tackle on the circle and you should be able to). Let me know if it works. Also if it doesn't work in the demo it still should in the game, cause they've locked a few controls for the gamepad in the demo. And upload your edited devdata here if it works please.

hey guys it turned out to be something wrong with the no. of buttons defined by EA in the devdata.dat for every controller

to fix that you have to edit these files via text editor , you can use this thread as help
