Like you I was espected this FIFA like nothing else. Sience the demo arrived I have over 15-20 hours playing experience. For me, 08 was a total disaster and now, I have to admit: I'm stuck with 07 for another year. This is the EA best try, but is a certitude: the canadian guys know NOTHING about football. Let me tell you why:
-the defence have the same stupid reaction.
-the ball have a SF movement like a drunken baloon.
-the shooting is lame. It makes me cry when I see how top scorers send the ball not over the post, but over the stadium. For this canadian guys force=altitude.
-the wing play is allmost lame because in some point, your player is never gets to the ball. Your "sprint" control is not working anymore, and the player starts to desperatly "swim" in the same spot like running on ice.
-the keeper have the same reaction, doing nothing no matter how big is the danger.
-the cross is something fantastic: the ball goes for the sky and finally is arrive somewhere. Canada! Hello! This is Football not volleyball!

I know, is looking much better now, the movement of the players is changed. Thats all? If the 08 was a Benny Hill Show, this is what? Monty Payton?

Im gonna have to half agree with most the issues you addressed. EA need to strip down the current AI engine and start from the ground up.

Watch a few football matches from across the globe and you'll see that every style of the beautiful game is noting like FIFA games.

But then again EA are hinging on the fact we buy these games for the licenses rather then god forbid, game play.

-The shooting is the easiest since 06 I think, probably you just can't play. I score from almost everywhere.
-Your player GETS to the ball if you PASS it to him, or if you call for it in Be a Pro. Sprint? Well, exactly this is reality. You can't sprint without stopping, or you probably never played any sport...

ok fair enough personally I like the game although it's a pity that the gameplay hasn't changed that much compairing to Fifa08. They've clearly paid a lot of attention to the graphics this time in every way (veins on the arms, hair, face expressions, ball, pitch) but not as much to the gameplay.
Other than that I really like the game and IMO it's much better than Fifa08.

But the fact is, if you play football and miss hit a shot or dont catch it properly, it doesnt just balloon over the stadium as he exageratingly put it. It rolls along the floor, or skewers left or right or just over the bar or becomes an easy save for the keeper.

On PC i actually find it incredibly difficult to get them to lift a shot off the ground at all. Almost anything but a full-bar pretty much skips along the ground.

I think the 09 gameplay is slightly better than 08, especially the collition system. I'm not sure if I'm playing the same game as you guys...most of the times I find it extremely (almost unrealistically) easy to score with long shots.

no i'm not mad i'm a FIFA king and played the demo long enough and have no problems at all but the defending. the defending is quite retarded sometimes.


but again keep in mind ppl this is only a demo the final game will be much better. they release a "older version" of the game (they constantly save different version fo the game as they keep updating it and the demo is 1 of the older versions - basically they work on stuff save the work continue save again etc.) as a demo.
