The demo certainly works on ME, as the full verson is not available in UK yet I cannot confirm, but would imagine it would.
What is your system spec and the exact error message?

ok, the error message is "Fifa2001demo has caused an error in FIFA2001DEMO.EXE. Fifa2001demo will now close.
If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."
it's the same for the retail version, just not FIFA2001DEMO ... I tryed the TCP/IP thing and it didn't work http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/frown.gif
yea i had the same error message when i had the problem.
sorry i don't have any other ideas.
I had the exact same problem in WinMe with both demo and retail. Tried a lot of things and finally found out that it will work when I bind "Client for Microsoft Networks" to the TCP/IP protocols in the Network Properties in control panel. (Previously I unbound "Clients for MS Networks" from all instances of the TCP/IP for security reasons). Still it takes a rather long time for the game to start up for some reasons, but at least it will run now. I notice that if I disable the ndis.vxd using MSConfig the game no longer delays on loading, but of course i lose my internet and LAN so that's not good. I have no such problem under Win2K, where my "Clients for MS Networks" service is also unbound from TCP/IP.
I am not sure if this applies to you but that was what solved my problem. Anyway I hope it will help. If this is a bug I hope it can get fixed soon.

well.
I was able to start the game but it jumped to windows before I managed to complete a full half. I couldn't get it to work.
Now I just run FIFA2001 in Win98 SE and it works smooth http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
