What was for you the reason to buy FIFA 09 (PC)?

I'm just interessted for what reason most of the FIFA players bought the game, after there are again no major improvements to the years before. Graphics also can't be a reason, as there's still now real ng-engine (now we could even say 2008-cg-engine). We also now there are still so many bugs and things like new cinematics or new stadiums have to be done by editors on their own. Also the inculeded DRM was a reason not to buy the game.
Of course I'm only talking about the PC-version.

So why there are still so many guys over here having this game?

i voted manager mode....even tho its basically the same as 08 but who really plays exhibition by them self? lol... honestly i LIKE 09 better than 08 ...feels much smoother .... and graphics have been improved...its just basically an ENJOYABLE game.... and plus i'm a fifa fan from 94 and i've had all except 95-97 lol and all where on pc lol so basically i'm going with what i'm use to

I honestly dont know why i got the game!
guess it was because i have played fifa since fifa 01.
i have had the game for a week and have just played 15 games and are pretty bored already! for me it feels like a 08 add-on!
guess i have to try out pes 09 and see if that gives me anything,if not i think i might be getting to old for this!

Sega MegaDrive 2 for FIFA Int'l through to FIFA '97; then PS for FIFA RTWC '98 till FIFA 2000 (including World Cup '98 along the way); and then PC for FIFA 2001 till present; I've also played a few games on the PS2, and the next gen versions on the 360 ...

I miss some of the features and gimmicks of the old days -- like indoor in '97; the first time you could qualify for the World Cup in RTWC '98, and then play the official tournament in World Cup '98; the Super League in '99 (and then again in 2003); the extensive and diverse Classic Teams in FIFA 2000 ... and also the hilarious 'Alien Mode' in FIFA 2000 ... great memories!

I got it for the editing. xD

I bought it because I enjoyed the demo, plain and simple.

Habit hard to kick. Loved FIFA 1998 road to world cup for the international selections and qualification on PS1

Loved FIFA 2000 for PS1 for the club tournaments. Sadly, since 2000, the quality or fun has not been the same since then and started playing it on PC since 2005 and remembered my friend was able to add teams and do funny stuff to the pc version so I decided that I would finally try these patches with CM09 and it's been a blast.

Well, long time ago, I used to buy FIFA to enjoy playing with my friends, but now after having the same game every year, I found it more interesting to edit FIFA than to play it.

when I like to play FIFA, I play with my friends on the XBOX360 version cause PC is a crap compared to XBOX360 version.

i voted manager mode and not editing because i didnt know before that you could edit fifa09:)
so for FIFA 10 i'll vote editing to 80%^^

Well, honestly...

I have played:
~FIFA 2000 Demo PC
~FIFA 2005 PC
~FIFA 06 PSP
~FIFA 2006 World Cup PC
~FIFA 08 PSP
~FIFA 08 PC

...so when it came to '09 I had just got into editing the '08 version, so I thought it would be great to get '09. I also like the updated squads and Manager Mode but I didn't vote Manager Mode.

I guess I got it mainly because I like FIFA!!

I bought FIFA this year because I needed to defeat Liverpool 11-0 over and over again. That is the reason why I buy FIFA every year now.:crazy:

I play in some Online Leagues and of course I use the great edits of the SG team :)

What difficulty do you play?


I don't play manager or online mode at all.
I only play friendly match or international tournaments.
I bought FIFA because of playing original game but after I know SG and other sites and now I enjoy editing first(next is playing game).

i started playing FIFA series with FIFA 98. then FIFA 99, World Cup 2002, FIFA 2004 till now FIFA 2009. and i will continue playing FIFA as my soccer gaming choice. and NO TO PES. wooo hoooo

editing..i dont play soo much.....i play first time when i buy fifa but after 1,2 weeks i start to edit;)

for me i'll be honest i haven't bout any FIFA becuase people say its not worth it and its not so currently i have FIFA 09 but its torrented and i would have bout it if it was goodbut its not that great yet but when they put NG graphics in and stuff or atleast make it as good as the console version sure i'll go buy it.

Same with NHL series i never have gotten any of them and now EA isn't making NHL for PC becuase its not the best market they say well thats becuase nobody is buying NHL for ht epC because they haven't made any improvments since NHL 05

because i have always bought fifa games, for genesis, ps1, ps2, ps3 until it was stolen from me, so now for pc. pc due to modding even tho i dont mod much, just new teams & balls, tourneys if could get them to work.

& because its gameplay crushes pes ! i dohave to say pes has a lil nicer look to it, the players anyway.
