I just bought a gamepad pro usb and installed it using the latest xperience drivers. I made a gameset for fifa 2001 using keyboard keystrokes for some of the buttons. But when i load fifa 2001 none of the buttons with keyboard keystrokes assigned to the works. What am i doing wrong.
With the default setting there's no sprint function, but all the buttons work.

You can amend the ...\FIFA 2001\data\system\config.dat file and ensure you have the following line which works fine for me.

"Gravis Gamepad Pro USB" 10 "Gravis Gamepad Pro" 10 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 10 9

Thanks wittser but i already have that line in my config.dat. Are you using the xperience drivers as well, and configured different than the default set.

First i used the gravis gamepad pro gameport version, but that one wasn't detected by the xperience software, and the trigger buttons had other functions than the usb version in fifa 2001.

The default gameset of the usb gamepad is even different than what the fifa 2001 manual shows.

I could really use some more suggestions.

I just have the latest Gravis Experience drivers loaded but I have not set up a keyset for Fifa 2001. I am just using the defaults controls in the game.

One thing to check is that what I posted in my original posting is exactly what you have as if I remeber back EA named the controller incorrectly in the config.dat file.

Also check that the name your controller is declaring in Control Panel>Controllers is the same as is in config.dat

I have the same game pad (Gravis Gamepad Pro, USB Version) and I have no problems with it... the sprint button is the blue button, I use the default buttons (because you can't change them for FIFA and it works excellent, maybe you need to reinstall it, because when ou move something the default data is lost...

Thanks hiryuu and Wittser, but i have the exact same line in my config.dat, and the controller is also correctly detected in the control panel. The default setting works, but i want to change the sprint button to one of the triggerbuttons.

One of the reason i bought this gamepad is because i thought the buttons could be configured any way you like. I think what i will try next is to change the order of the nummers in the config.dat file, maybe they determine the function of the buttons. Wittser i would appreciate it if you tried to use a custom gameset for fifa and see if it works.

Well, i just tried to change the order of some of the numbers behind the gravis game pad pro usb line in the config.dat file, but without succes.

The buttons still have the same function. I really can't get used to the sprint button being on top instead of at the left trigger.
