RayGun's All-In-One Roster & Tactical Realism Patch

This is a patch that does two things!

Firstly, it's a ROSTER UPDATE featuring accurate starting line-ups (as of 10/10/08) for 19 different leagues and...
Secondly, it's a TACTICAL UPDATE for EVERY team in the game (no exceptions!).

The ROSTER UPDATE covers every club in the Barclays Premiership, Premiera Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga 1, Ligue 1, Eredivisie, Portuguesa Liga, Scottish Premier, Allsvenskan, SAS ligaen, Tippeligaen, Austrian Bundesliga, AXPO Super league, Belgian Pro League, Ceska Liga, Liga do Brasil, Coca Cola Championship and Major League Soccer as well Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, AEK Athens, PAOK Salonika, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Kayserispor, Boca Juniors, River Plate and Corinthians. ALL International sides have been updated too and feature accurate starting line-ups (great news for the Netherlands).

Most importantly, EVERY club in FIFA 09 has been updated with NEW OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE STRATEGIES improving the realism and overall feel of the game.

+ Full backs take up much tighter positions providing cover for their centre-backs. Not only is this more realistic but scoring is made more difficult as a result.

+ Centre backs now play as a pairing supporting each other in their defensive responsibilities.

+ Attackers make cross-over runs taking defenders with them and creating space for teammates on the ball to run into and exploit.

+ Wide players attack the back post with greater regularity and also run into the `channel' with greater frequency making them a more active part of every attack.

+ Defenders play higher up the pitch and press any player in possession more frequently instead of backing-off and needlessly conceding territory to an opposition with no players in an attacking position. This makes a big difference to the feel of the game and rewards rapid counter attacks!

+ The `hole' in front of the defence has been reduced meaning defences get tight on anyone in a threatening position. This plays out really well and forces counter attacking sides on a fast break to quickly exploit any spaces in a defence before they're filled or be forced to spread the play wide in search of space around the penalty box. Very true to life!

+ Furthermore, as a result of better positioning defenders now head high balls clear with greater frequency instead of unrealistically chesting it all of the time. This makes winning the `second ball' a key part of an attack and increases the role of midfielders in the game too!

[Please note, there are no `created' players in this roster patch. All missing players will be added after the release of Creation Master 09. The starting line-ups reflect each teams strongest eleven. Of course, some fans will disagree with the inclusion of the odd player or two but I have studied the starting eleven's of each side since the beginning of the season and selected players who are playing regularly for their clubs.]

I have test it and I must say the patch is absolutly trash.
Every player have a skill from 1!

Sorry guys, but some of the player ratings had been changed to 1 due to a mismatch in the database. This has been put right and an updated version can be downloaded from link above.

Is this compatible with my current Manager Mode franchise, or would I need to re-start that?

You need to remove the folder `My.Squads' found inside C:\....My Documents\FIFA 09

The Realism patch should work after doing this (Y) and you can manage your team using the games internal features.

I believe the patch will work online but ONLY if your opponent is using the same fifa.db file.

i dont have a my.squads in my documents/fifa09 and the game crashes now.

I'm not too sure why that would be..!?! If you are trying to load a `saved game' made prior to loading the patch then that would cause the game to crash ;)

I'm liking the patch a lot so far, great job!

I did notice while playing as Atletico Madrid, that Ever Banega is doubled in the roster, and actually counts him as 2 players...any way to fix this?

the formations are great and much more realistic,the box is more overloaded with players like the real game,and many things are better like any team has an unique ans different play style and positioning ,its a great effort i tryed it with the ac12 gameplay and i have a lot more challenging gameplay from the default,continue,guys,nice!

Hey my game crashes ever time after one season in manager mode. anybody with the same problem?

How can i uninstall it? Is there a way to bring back my career file?

thats pretty obvious lol...its a db file so if you try to play an old career after you installed this patch it will crash.This patch will work with careers after you install this new db patch :skip_e: and most of the fifa players know that :innocent_smile_1:

i thought i hadnt install it.. but i had..
And today i re-installed the patch and till then it crashes my career. So If it was arleady installed then why it crashes it now..?

You must start a NEW career!

Can someone confirm if all the teams in England coca cola league 2 have the same formation 4-4-2 after installing this patch ?

By the way defence is still really annoying and unrealistic..
Defenders seem frozen... They r nt defending.. Not offensive at all.. Also counter attacks always end with a goal for the other team even if u have a 5-4-1 formation and full back strategy! Dont know if it is cause i m playing fifa in legendary mode. Does this patch make any changes for legendary mode?

I felt the same man. And the patch unables playing with one of the stadiums patch.

Actually i didnt realise any change with the patch but anyway.. Maybe its not compatible with legendary difficulty or something cause first i installed the unlock patch and after raygun's patch.
Also i dont know if it is compatible with other patches but really i dont wanna mess any manager mode again.. I did it once,,
