View Full Version : Difficult to score.
MarkMis 27-10-2008, 02:29:PM Does anyone else find it difficult to score goals on FIFA 09? I'm playing with semi-assisted and I'm missing breakaway after breakaway.
The cheese ball goals still work though. You know the one. Where you dribble across the face of the goal at about 16 yeards and put it in the corner.
per75005 27-10-2008, 06:13:PM X-box 360 :
No problem for me... I'm still playing at the semi-pro level, with the slowest configuration
I changed the view to have the mobile camera, that's harder to build actions (you need to use the radar) but I find it easier to score goals...
I found that the powerfull of the shots is very sensitive, this the reason why I'd prefer to wait to be near the goalkeeper to shoot....
Good luck...
MarkMis 27-10-2008, 07:04:PM I'm playing World Class.
My camrea angle is end to end or something like that. It's the one that you see the whole field from above with the nets at the top and bottom of the screens.
I noticed a lot of passing around the 18 yard box helps free players like in FIFA 07.
09 resembles 07 a lot actually in terms of in-game strategy.
Robbie_boy 27-10-2008, 07:42:PM I'm on pro and with all help turned off, and it's great!!!!! hard but not imposable to score goals and allso it's harder to keep the goals out at your own end too.....
Great game (playing on Xbox 360)
MarkMis 27-10-2008, 08:27:PM I do 4 minutes a half. And i'm usually in the range of 3 goals a game for both teams so (3-0, 2-1, and opposites).
Robbie Boy, how do you play?

Robbie Boy, how do you play?
Well
1. pro level
2. normal speed
3. everything on manual
4. 7 min's per half
5. i have the camera set to dynamic but zoomed out as far as pos and as high as pos.....
6 and i play a passing game and build up through the team with 1 or 2 long balls thrown in to change things a bit.....
PS with passing set to manual you will never use the through pass cos you can do it with the normal pass button.....
and i love to play a crossing game too...
I realy love this game.....
Any questions just ask...

fresh2death 28-10-2008, 01:41:AM I find myself scoring a lot of through balls to Drogba/Ronaldo when I play.
Aside from that for me its a mix of crosses, long dribbles, short passes inside 20 yards until i shoot to a side.
fresh2death 28-10-2008, 01:43:AM I have been playing on the fast setting on World Class level (with semi-assisted passing) and it is tough, play is VERY sped up, almost so that it's unrealistic in some cases, so I might slow it down and see how that works

I play a 4-4-1-1.
I use the wings and center to feed the ball to the striker who basically roams the 18 yard box. By twisting and turning abruptly enough I usually can get a break on a defender and have a clean shot.

The only formation I change is when I use Manchester United.
Then I switch to a 4-3-1-2 so I can have 2 strikers up top (ronaldo and berbatov) and i keep rooney as the central forward who plays back a little.
then i switch out Nani for Hargreaves and I have a great team :)
strategy usually involves going outside w/ mids then bringing it back into rooney to hand off to ronaldo/berbatov as i see fit.
soccertj08 15-01-2009, 02:14:PM no, i've played with man utd vs. basically everyone of the powerhouses, leeds against liverpool, bayern munich vs inter, inter vs milan, real vs chelsea, spain vs england, and still manage to score at least 3 per game...game setting is, world class, 7 minute half, and everything else is stock settings.
For Man Utd advised formation.... keep their formation but raise nani and ronaldo to become wingers, increases their skill sets. and much easier to counter attack, however you would need to know how to defend really well. To start though, remove neville, and put hargreaves on, he has a better skill set and is faster then neville.

I play in Manager Mode with Inter Milan in World Class level and I think it´s very easy to score, I always win Serie A with five or 6 rounds still to be played. Now I changed to Legendary Mode, it got a little bit harder, but not that much. I play 4 min a half, fast speed and have my own tactic. I only have problems to win the ECC. I already thought fifa 08 was easy and 09 keeps being very easy, the game is very good but no challenging.

Most often you are 1-on-1 with the keeper. Practice lobbing over the keeper, using the finese shot to curl the ball and side-stepping the keeper to shoot.
Paolo 03-03-2009, 01:47:AM I play professional level, and I dont find it that hard to score. It took me a couple weeks to get into it, but now I find it pretty easy to score
Steve_Butka_MUF 08-03-2009, 10:34:AM I found that playing Legendary is both rewarding, and more exciting and realistic.
I would post this in a new thread, but I am not allowed to post new threads yet it seems (?). Here is my club journal-- I used to see these all the time for NHL08 and NHL09 franchises but I haven't found any for FIFA09.
I think it adds a lot of fun to the game for me, perhaps some of you guys would like to try them out yourself. here's my link:

Manager mode is too easy. Im playing with Celtic on World Class and i win almost every game by around three goals. It is also too easy to get players. In my first season i bought De Rossi, Quaresma and Abidal. They should try and make the transfers a bit more realistic in the future, more like Football Manager.
streetlees88 08-06-2009, 02:01:AM Anyone fancy a game of Fifa 09. feel free to added me its streetlees88. Just send me a quick mail with it so I know who you are. I am not the best but I am half decent. Look forward to having a game with some of you guys.

soccerplayer18 09-06-2009, 03:50:PM Yeah it's not that hard to score, either just lay in the ill through ball or a good cross into the middle from the wing. You just need to head it and pull the control stick down so that it bounces in instead of being headed over the top of the goal.
Wazza! 29-06-2009, 05:48:PM I play on Legendary and I find it the same difficulty to score as Amateur. Depends on how good you are on 1-1's

I got my console few months back, it was hard to switch from PC to PS3 after 11 years but it's ok now. I score 2 or 3 goals on Professional level.
0Kama0 19-09-2009, 12:15:PM I play at Professional player level and Semi-Pro goalkeeper level. I mostly score in the matches, but it also happens that I lose 3-0 or something.
