For some reason, EA decided to assign a ball to each team, instead of each league, so if a Premiership team goes down to Championship, they still have the Premiership ball! Is there any way to make it the other way round?

Exactly and it would've made much more sense. EA could've used a lot less balls, as well (so there would be fewer that we'd need to make smaller). Does anyone know if there's a way to make it so?

That's exactly what I've been wishing for since FIFA 07. Wish they'd assign balls to leagues or better yet have them assigned through tournaments. That way we could have a ball assigned to every tournament / league through Creation Master's tournament tab...

I really have to question the logic of the person who made the decision to give each team their own ball instead of assigning one to each league/tournament and wonder whether they know a damn thing about how football works in this area?

Well... I just have to say that in Denmark each team has its own ball :) (Maybe that's because we are a bit underdeveloped in Denmark soccer-wise... I don't know ;) ) But nevertheless it would be a great possibility to have league balls... especially if you could disable that option and use team balls for some leauges... I know that it probably wouldn't be possible, but that is MY dream :)

Exit FIFIA, start up CM09, find the team you are playing with (or playing against next... change their ball, save, start up FIFA again, play the game, note the team you're playing against next, exit FIFA, start up CM09, ... You know the drill ;)

No, that's not what you where thinking and it is troublesome, but it's a solution :)

Might be worthwhile for important games like CL. Thanks for the idea anyway, it is a bit of a chore. Why couldn't EA do some research and just have one damn ball for each competition!! It's so damned stupid to do it this way round! But then again, it's stupid not to have replays for the FA Cup, but there you go.

For Cricket 07, some utilities were made that let you easily switch between different stumps/pitchads and so on. Would something similar be possible for Fifa 09? I know MD made a popup tool that was easily switchable, would something for balls/adboards be possible?

In Germany each team has his own ball (Nike, Adidas, Puma, Derbystar ..., all mixed). I think there are many other leagues which don´t have a trivial ball like the Premier League.

Fair enough, but in England, in the Premiership and Championship, there is only one ball for the entire league.
