He was one of the greats. I wish him well in what appears to be a new career in management.

2nd highest scorer in the PL. Great goalscorer. All the best for the future Andy (Y).

Clearly the greatest period of his career was his dominating partnership with Vassell during the early portion of the 05-06 EPL season with City. Treble? When?

When he gets the ball, he scores a goal Andy, Andy Cole!

... All down hill after his 40-goal season (Y)

Most under-rated england forward ever!!!! How he was always overlooked for the England NT was a joke.

He was overlooked I would say because of the choice at the time. Shearer (absolute legend even though i don't support Newcastle) was a sure starter, Sheringham was around and Michael Owen started to appear on the NT. Still an excellent player, whether or not the england managers recognised that.

True legend - I thought Keegan had flipped when he sold him to us :innocent_smile_1:

The Cole Yorke partnership will go down in United history - I wish him all the best, maybe him and Yorkie will be a management duo sometime!

Cole should've made the bench at least. But look at the choice of a certain reserve striker at that time: Paul Merson <==== WTF?!!!!

Not untrue. I guess maybe he should have had more of a chance pre 96 when Shearer wasn't scoring for the National side. Even then it seemed Les Ferdinand and Fowler were the secondary choices.

Legend of the English game don't get me wrong, but it's true that he wasn't as clinical at ManU.
