I posted this inside another thread, but as I noticed how frequent the problem is I figured it might help to post it as its own thread.
These errors usually have something to do with one of two things:
What do you have running in the background? Kernel32 errors are often caused by insufficient memory. Try closing everything running in the background and try again.
What type of processor do you have? I have an AMD Athalon, and I couldn't play anything even though my system specs blew the requirements out of the water. Turned out I was running too hot- needed to get a better cooling fan! The processor gets too hot to process the instructions coming from the intensive game and gets shut down as it can't keep up. If that's the problem, I solved it by picking up a cooling fan for an Alpha! I'm now running 20 degrees F cooler!
