Oh no, i have just noticed that in one of the forums here, some of you guys are using a "User friendly pile of junk software" that is infested with spyware, i won't mention the name of this pile of disasterous junk, but it relates to a multi media program that some company have decided to allot as a gesture of goodwill under the "Freeware" banner, mmm, bugger all is free in this world and the price that you pay for using this type of software is a very dirty price indeed, it is riddled with the hated Spyware that seems to have become the way of the net, it is very very dangerous in regard to what it transmits back to there main server base, and no matter what these evil bastards claim about 'your privacy', don't believe a word of it, they use it to gather information about your movements on the net, and i believe actual info about your Pc system, although they always strongly deny that it ever happens, there has been a very volotile debate in the US senate about the use and abuse of this software, and as far as i know there are or will be very severe penaltys if companys are found out to be breaking the laws of privacy, but as we all know, they will always try to "word" there way around it, anyways guys it is entirely up to you on wether you take heed of the situation, but at least now you should be aware of the dangers of using "Erm, Freeware" ... the list here is AFTER i had done four scans and cleanups on my system < SIXTEEN files were found on the first run> after i had installed and tested that multi media software, nasty stuff indeed ...you can find the Cleanout Software to get rid of all the footprints that this filth leaves on your system by going here ----> www.lavasoft.de (http://www.lavasoft.de)

One of my favourites resources about spyware, obscure software plugins and so is Counterexploitation (http://www.cexx.org/).

A even worse thing happened to me with a new.net plugin. When I tried to download virtually anything, explorer crashed (this means the file probably sents download info data to the main server). When I uninstalled it, things got right again.

I suggest, instead of deleting, to find out a program called zone alarm, that simply refuses to send any suspicious data.

Yep, Zone Alarm is a very good piece of deterent software that i also use, but the problem is with some of this software that is around and about the net that has already been installed on any pc system is the footprints that it leaves on your system even after you have uninstalled it, i use that Adware checker to give me a log with the names of the files that are still on the system, that way i am then sure of what the dangerous ones are that are working against you, then i go in and destroy them, along with using regedit to demolish the footprints that are still in the win reg .. Ned .. ;)
Ps:> Thanks for the link to that url, a no-bull**** site that goes for the throat .. nice.
