I had been a long time pro evolution fan until pro 08 and pro 09, after those two horrible releases by Konami I decided to try the Fifa series instead. I was very interested in the mouse control scheme since I thought that this would give me complete freedom to send the ball exactly where I want to.

Even though mr Hossack and his teammates focused a lot on the mouse control scheme during their PR campaign, it seems that they didn't care enough to test the damn thing. Unfortunately the mouse control has a serious bug, as you can not shoot the ball high. You can only either shoot low shots or you can press the shot until the power meter goes all the way up and then the ball goes way too high. And it matters not where you point the mouse cursor, all shots will go low.

A lot of people have complained about this in the EA forums, but you know how much EA sports cares about customer support when it comes to the PC version. 2 patches later, and the problem has not been adressed. Can anyone around here help us and make a fix for this bug? The game has improved so much since I used some of the patches i found around here (net patches, cinematics patch, crowd patch etc). If someone could also fix the mouse bug I and lots of others from the Fifa forums would be grateful to you.

P.S. Or if that's not possible then maybe tell me where in the config files i can find the settings for the mouse shots and try out different numbers there... that'd be also helpful.

And BTW PES2009 ist better than FIFA09 for PC......

I've had way too many arguments on the EA forums about whether Fifa 09 is better than pro 09 or not and whether mouse controls are better or not than keyboard controls and it turns out that it's all about the individual. For example I'm a person who plays mostly a passing game, holding possesion of the ball, being patient trying to find openings in the defense. I enjoy a creative build-up of my plays.

Fifa's passing to me looks much more realistic than Pro's passing. The ball in pro moves like it is moving on ice. On the other hand I have to say that Pro's through balls are better than Fifa's through balls, but that counts only in the case you play Fifa with the keyboard. That is why me and many others have complained about the mouse bug in the EA forums.

Playing with the mouse gives you gameplay options that are just not possible with the keyboard / joypad. I.e. you can initiate runs forwards, backwards, left or right, so you can create some impressive passing game, creating empty spaces and passing through balls in those empty spaces for other players to come and get the ball. You can pinpoint EXACTLY where you want to pass the ball.

Now the arguments I hear from the opposite side are usually quite subjective, based on an individual's unwillingness to try something new or based on the fact that they can't win on online games when they try this control scheme. It is natural though that a new control scheme is difficult the first times you try it. Unless you expect of course that people in 2043 will still play games with a joypad or a keyboard.

Anyway, I'd rather not go into another long-winded argument about this, no matter what I say will not convince you, and no matter what you say you won't convince me. All I want to know is basically if someone can help us get rid of this bug.
