yes a triple play is to get 3 outs on one play which happens about once or twice a year in a major league season...
Much more rare is an unassisted triple play... which is when one player records three outs in a single play... I think there have been about 15 or so in the history of the major leagues... and wouldn't you know one of those occurred this year when randy velarde of the A's did it against the yankees in, I think, May.
By the way there are no stupid questions as far as I'm concerned and I imagine most Americans would be happy to help you, other than flyer884, who's either 14 years old or a dimwit.
I will be happy to answer any baseball Q's you have... feel free to e-mail me if you have any: richcald@bellatlantic.net
PS: that was a heck of a world series this year... I went to game 2... GO YANKS

Your the dimwit for trying to insult me. I answered his question, and I warned him about asking that question in the USA as a joke. Why are you trying to start something with me. Me and Dennis Echnev werent arguing or calling eachother names. You are the 14 year old for tryning to start arguements.
